This review is for the Nordstrom Individualist department.

Let me start by saying this....I love Nordstrom.  I always find items I like here.  It was time to update my wardrobe this season, so I went yesterday.

I usually shop the Individualist department for really cute blouses, and I'm a big fan of the bohemian chic patterns of designer Hale Bob.  This is one of the few Nordstrom locations that actually carries a good variety of Hale Bob blouses and dresses...and it's close to home.  Sweet!

I'm a girl that normally knows exactly what I'm looking for and have good shopping radar, so I don't like having sales people assist me.  Yesterday, I did have some help from Jackie, and I'm so glad I did.  She was so helpful!

She got a dressing room for me and came to check on me.  I'd been flirting with the idea of getting a pair of skinny jeans, although I wasn't sure if they would be flattering and comfortable.  I have a small waist with hips, and a Beyonce bootay.   I told Jackie that I liked the Hudson jeans...except for the flap pockets and asked if she could find something similar with a flat pocket, that is not too lowrise, and something comfortable.  She came back with 3 different brands.  Page, Citizens of Humanity, and Seven For all Mankind.  The first 2 were awesome and I had to get smaller sizes in both. Jackie helped me decide on the Citizens jean, and showed me a couple different looks with cuffing the bottom of the jeans with my boots on.  I wouldn't have thought of that, but they did look cute.  She also showed me some catalog pictures to give me some ideas of different looks for tops, and it was very helpful.  While she's a sales person and could probably sell ice cubes to an eskimo, there was a trust that I had in her fashion sense and a sincerity as well.  I ended up buying several items, and I honestly love everything I bought.

I'm happy with my experience at Nordstrom's Individualist department, and next time I need jeans or help coordinating an outfit, I won't hesitate to ask for Jackie.

Came here yesterday after some time away. I usually hit up the Nordstrom in St. Louis with my mom (partner in shopping crime) encouraging me to break out of my comfort zone. Upon entering the Mag Mile outpost I was convinced by my surroundings (albeit in a soothing and nonsnooty way) that I either need a personal stylist to help me pull together more fashion forward looks, or a rich husband to help me afford said looks (any takers?). I kid, but in all seriousness, this latest trip helped me see the fall fashions I had been missing out on due to a self-imposed shopping moratorium and overreliance on Banana Republic.

On this latest trip, I was on a specific mission, and the Theory suiting I was looking at was not in stock. Rest assured I will be back. In fact, I am getting ready to pull the trigger on some Ugg Classic Cardi boots and will keep my fellow yelpers posted.

What is in my Nordstrom's Bag:

Felina Lingerie
Trish McEvoy New Lipstick
Narcisco Rodriguez Perfume
Spanx, for under my unflattering uniform
and (if I could afford them), Stuart Weizman Stripper Heels!

I think I could seduce my husband into buying me the shoes.  I will write an update and let all of Yelp know if I am successful.

Everything here is shiny, beautiful, bright, and happy.  I love my Nordstroms and I am grateful that it exists.  I love Nordstroms because it is a step up from your usual suspects in the department world, but it's a step down from the Neimans and the Saks, which I really can't afford.  I also love Nordstroms because you can find Kiehl's and F Fekkai products here, which you cannot get at Macys.  They have great jewelry, nice bags, and the downtown location has a Louis Vuitton store built inside the store.  Their cafe serves delicious lattes, their woman's lounges are clean, big, and wonderful, and I always feel like I am tasting a little piece of consumer heaven when I come here.   Their shoe collection is pretty amazing as well, and they always have some great sales going on.

Just bought a present for the newleyweds mentioned previously- A super-cute Paul Frank Monkeyface diaperbag with all the trimmings (waterproofed changing mat, wipes case, washcloths, bib, bottle and bottle warmer) for the little girl on the way! Yay!
It was so cute! Soon to be Mom was pleased with the practicality. And not so frilly or pink that Dad will be embarassed to be seen carrying it... Nordstrom has everything.

Nordstrom is my favorite store in Chicago and Chicago has my favorite Nordstrom. I know, I know, it's a national chain, but contrary to popular beliefs, all Nordstroms were not created equal and that includes their designer contracts and fashion trends.

Growing up with the likes of Marshall Fields and Carson Pirie Scott, I am totally a department store girl. Where else can you find everything from basic to fashion forward, from baby to granny, and let's not forget from head to toe. I can buy my whole winter wardrobe from one store, and being someone who really despises shopping for everything but shoes, I need that one stop shopping. BP will always find a way to get my money every season and I can't count how many dollars I've spent on shoes here. Don't get me started...

Also, the have great free bra fittings that you don't need an appointment for ( take that intimates!) And,for all you small framed busty girls out there, you can buy a 32 G in this store for under $100! That alone is worth the 5 star rating in my pov!

I do so love Nordstrom. Nordstrom is truly a shopper's paradise, and (based on my other reviews), we know that I buy most of my shoes from there since they are difficult to fit.

Shortly after this store opened, I went there with the hope that I would be able to get "standard Nordstrom service": a helpful sales assistant and a wide variety of shoes which might actually fit me. Unfortunately, that was not the case at the Nordstrom's on Michigan Avenue.

Me: "Do you have any shoes in a ten wide or bigger?"

Sales assistant: "They don't make shoes that size. Your feet are rediculous."

Me: "But I buy all my shoes here!"

S.A. "I can bring you a nine wide and we can see if that fits" and she walks away, bringing back a nine wide, then trying to cram my foot in the shoe that's obviously too small...

Bad move, Nordstrom. I'll go to your other locations any day of the week, but NEVER Michigan Avenue.....

Why, oh, why do I have to work so close to the shopping mecca of the Midwest? Although a perfect location, it gets me into trouble. Closing my eyes on the way home from just has not seemed to help. People complain that I run into them and cars honk when I run into traffic. So as all my shopping excursions begin, I just went in to browse. My simple stroll brought me to the shoes. It's boot season ladies! My heart was telling me I had to get my boots ASAP or they would all be gone! Alas! I found the cutest pair of black, suede over the knee, slouch, no heel boots. They were perfect for the casual evening I was going to create, just so I could wear them. The sales lady that helped me was OK. A little pushy for my liking, but I know some people love being waiting on. I'd rather just take my time, walk around in the boots, and not be rushed.
One complaint. Although this time I paid cash, my last visit, I was told, they do NOT take Visa or MasterCard. Why? The 2 do not have some type of privacy protection for their "celebrity guests." Kinda inconvenient for low of the totems like myself.

You don't have to ask me twice to go shopping. Just say the word and I'll be at your side...an amex in 1 hand and a visa in the other.  My husband, on the other hand....not such a fan of shopping. You would have thought I told him I broke his precious TV when I informed him this morning that I would take him shopping for his bday.

Our main task- a new suit for work! When we first walked into the men's department at Nordstroms we were greeted by Eun (pronounced An) who seemed to really know her stuff when it came to men and suits.  In fact, she looked my husband up and down and said "I'm guessing you're a lawyer and want something on the conservative side." And yes, he is a lawyer and was looking for something on the boring (um, I mean conservative) side.

An hour later (with thanks to Eun!) we left with a striking Joseph Abboud suit, 2 dress shirts (we even convinced him to buy one in pale pink!), 2 beautiful ties, and even a new coat. Yeah, you can say we helped out the economy a bit today.  And my husband was even smiling to the point that I may get him to go shopping again within the next year!

So yeah, Nordstroms has a fantastic mens department. I also really like the shoe department and the makeup...I spend most of my time & $$$ at the Trish and Laura Mercier counters. And the Nordstrom Cafe is even a great place for lunch...my blue cheese pear salad I had today was very tasty. Oh, and the customer service they pride themselves on really is truly amazing.

I"m not such a fan of the woman's clothing dept, but can't expect it all in one place.  BUT Nordstroms is probably the closest to having it all than any other dept store.

Can I give 100,000 stars?

No, Carol J, it is NOT time to stage an intervention.  Because I love Nordstrom.  For reals.  Why do I even waste my time going anywhere else?  Why do YOU even waste your time going anywhere else?  Come into the light...  It will be okay.  Here, take my hand...

A couple weeks ago I came here in search of something to wear to NYE.  Latoya took me under her wing and helped me pick a fabulous dress - a dress that she picked out that I hated on the hanger, but loved when I put it on.  A dress that actually got me excited about NYE for the first time, ever.  A dress that made me feel pretty.  I like feeling pretty.

After getting me set up with shoes and accessories, Latoya introduced me to Gina in cosmetics, and we got my makeup situation under control.  I think I might kidnap her and have her come do my makeup every day.  Shhh, don't tell her.

Today was the ultimate test, though.  I needed a suit, and I needed one fast - bought and altered in time for me to wear it at 10am Monday.  I was not excited about this task at all.  I walked in, Latoya totally remembered me from the other week and found me a fantastic, fairly inexpensive suit in less than 10 minutes.  AND it fits so well I look like I've lost ten pounds (I love the Nordstrom diet!).  AND my short legs need not worry - alterations will be done by 5pm today.  After I paid, we stood there and chatted for a bit and she even gave me a job lead.  Um, hi, new BFF.

Thank you Nordstrom (and Latoya.  And Gina.  And Jen.) for making my world easy and for making me look fabulous, and for making me FEEL fabulous.

IDIOT-PROOF SHOPPING FOR GUYS SINCE  1901

I hate shopping for clothes.  I just want to get in, find stuff that makes me look good, and get out.  That's why I LOVE Nordys.  Let me explain...

THINGS I LOVE ABOUT NORDYS:
-That Rich Martinez (aka my Nordys guy) remembers my name even if I'm gone for a year
-That he tells me what looks good and what doesn't
-That alterations and tailoring are comped and expertly done
-That I get offered a drink while I shop
-That I get invited to pre-sales so I can pick out what I want before everyone else
-That I can take back a pair of $120 Italian slacks with a tear in the pocket a year later and exchange it, no questions asked
-That it's not Macy's

In a world where customer service means being on hold with a phone bank or sending an email that never gets returned, it's nice to know that some places still value building enduring relationships with their customers.  Does it cost more?  Yes.  But to me it's well worth it.

I love to some one stop shopping. To go to one place, get everything I need and get out. Not thinking about the several trips I have to make to here and there, because here and there is all in one place.

Like many super stores, you can find a lot of things here, you can find countless amounts of shoes, from Kenneth Cole to Jimmy Choo. Clothes from suits to athletic wear to dresses to everything else. All ranges in prices and some good finds and bargains. Furniture, dishes.... ahh the list can go on and on... but I won't... for once.

I finally got my face products that I ran out of a few months ago... because aside from the on line store, this is the only place I can find it in the city. Nordstom has some unique items too. I asked one of the sales staff about if the products I was purchasing was better than the one I was using and why? Well, they were and she did... well at least enough to cure my satisfaction. Another thing, a lot of the staff, as I and Caroline A walked about said hi and greeted us. I like this place which will make me happy to return.

Oh Nordstrom.  How do I love you?  Let me count the ways.

I love your shoes and the people who sell me your shoes.  Bringing tons of leather up from the back room and gently placing them on my feet.  And knowing no matter how bad my day has been- those shoes just make me happy!

I love your men's clothing department for no matter how callous the man in the fitting room is-that I have coerced to your fine surroundings- you find him bounties of clothing that make him look like a new man.  The cut of the cloth and the hang of the fabric making him walk just a little taller through his day.

I love the service in your women's clothing as they are quick to bring me other items so I nary have to lift a finger (or get re-dressed to find another size).  Or how about the sales woman who puts aside pants for me when they come in just cuz they are long and she knows that we are always looking for the longest pants on the rack to fit my long legs?

I love your Cafe as it gives me a bit of respite from my shopping marathons.  Sipping freshly prepared soups or munching on a salad.  It prepares me for whatever is next to take on.

I love that your sales associates do whatever it takes to make me happy.  Yesterday it involved them carrying shoes-boxes and boxes of shoes- to my car for me cuz I just didn't have enough hands!

I love thee freely and purely.  For without you- my world would be a much more complicated place.

So what's the deal with the men's department?  The Rail or whatever.  I went there the other day with my boyfriend to look for some nice jeans for him.  The layout was awful.  Jeans here and jeans there.  I guess maybe we shouldn't have split up, but it seemed like every time i found a pair of jeans to show my boyfriend, it would take me forever to find the section again.

It really would have been great if someone had helped us, but the sales people were busy doing their best job to avoid customers.  I know that straightening merchandise is important, but maybe you should ask the obviously confused customers if they need help.  At least they were doing something this time.  Last time I was here the sales people were just chatting with each other.  Rude.

Even after we had established I couldn't afford any of the suits I liked, the salesman encouraged me to try on some Versaces and talked me through why they're a good fit for me. He suggested I wait two weeks for a shipment to move to Nordstrom Rack.

I left with an exact idea of the suit I wanted and, more importantly, my dignity.

Zero stars for astronomical prices. Three stars for being a class act.

My favorite department store! My #2 favorite location, #1 is in Portland. I came here looking for some heels and usually Nordstrom has a pretty good shoe selection every season. Their shoe department is a beauty. If they don't have something in your size, the sales people gladly call and check around for you. So nice. I prefer this nordstrom over the other one I drove out to the suburbs to visit. That one had craptastic sales people.

Anyway, I'd like to send shout outs to the cosmetic counter, the TBD, Savvy and Brass Plum department.. they make up a huge percentage of my closet and makeup drawer. People go out of their way to make you happy here and you don't see a lot of that out there anymore..

I was about at the end of my shopping rope (I hate shopping), but I had to find an evening dress, so I decided to give Nordstrom's a try because I didn't know where else to turn.  I headed straight for the special occasion dress section, and was disheartened at first, because they did not have much of a selection of sizes for curvaceous women, or for women whose wallet isn't fat with cash.  On my way out, I happened to hear some women mention dresses up front (among the regular clothes), so I walked that way and SCORE!  Not only a great black dress for a gala (and actually another purple one I really loved and wish I had bought, but if only I had a place to wear), but also some fun casual dresses.  The salesgirl, Katie, was very helpful, bringing me different sizes, and bringing the tailor to me for the FREE alterations on my casual spring dress.  I always thought of Nordstrom's as too expensive, but I don't know why--compared to the other department stores I visited this weekend, they had some reasonable prices.
I will be back soon when I have some time to really look around and maybe get some new spring clothes (probably when I pick up the alterations!)

I love shopping, probably more than the average woman..so much that someone should pay me to do it. yaya? anyway so I live about 3 blocks from Michigan ave which is a BIG PROBLEM and by a big problem I actually mean it's fantastic.
SO I walk into Nordstrom in search of the perfect pair of sunglasses because I'm kinda over the whole looking like a bug thing. As soon as I walk in to the sun glass section the nicest sales girl walks up to me and is all like what can I help you find? Normally I don't really want the help but this girl was so nice I couldn't just brush her off. So she's like "let me help you" and I'm all like, "okay cool." So she just starts grabbing sunglasses and some of them she was like "yes, love these" or "no, get those off your face." I loved it, that's exactly what I wanted..an honest opinion. About 20 minutes later I walked out with the most fabulous pair of Marc Jacobs sunglasses. And they were not the most expensive pair I tried on so that's a plus annnnd I'm in looooove with them. So, need some help finding sunglasses? go see Jasmine(sp?)

So apparently spending 200 on sunglasses wasn't enough I went upstairs because I had talked myself into thinking that I NEEDED a new pair of jeans. No matter how many pairs of jeans I try on I always go back to my Citizens of Humanity brand. Everything about them is fab. the only problem is i'm short and I always need 50 inches taken off the bottom but lovely Nordstrom does that free of charge and when I asked if I could put a rush on them--they had them done the next day. What?! wonderful. And the girl who helped me (Jennifer) was wonderful.

I used to stay in the Conrad Hilton attached to the mall where this Nordstrom store is.  So, I've shopped here for a while, but I really didn't have the full experience until I met with my style guide, Chicago's Fashion Doctor, and the store managers.  My style guide shops ahead for me.  That's so convenient!  The times I've gone we have started at Bloomies and ended at Nordies picking out things that have a little more sophistication.  I love the jeans better here than Bloomies.

It's really well situated too, since I like to go have a nice dinner or something to celebrate having cool new stuff.  There are fine dining establishments crawling all over the place in the surrounding area.  The only reason I'm giving Nordies the same score as Bloomies, is because the times I have gone, there have always been items unavailable that they've had to ship from another store, or otherwise have me pick up.  It happens more frequently than Bloomies, so they get the same score because I like the clothes a little better here.

I love Nordstrom.  Yes, it's expensive, but since my old standby Fields was taken over by crappy Macy's, Nordys is the new standard.

And what a high bar they set!

I called ahead to Natalie in Individualist because I needed to purchase a suit. When I arrived an hour later she had pulled multiple suits in multiple sizes, and was incredibly attentive and helpful--she ran around pulling new sizes for me, checking for other colors, and gave great advice. I would not have purchased anything without her, proving that amazing customer service really does pay off.

When I'm looking for layering basics I hit up BP, and who doesn't love a good Anniversary and Half Yearly Sale?  Accessories here I come!!!

As far as department stores goes, Nordstrom is really great.

Even better- if you need to find your perfect pair of jeans  & a friendly salesman, Justin is the go to guy.  (I am a stylist, so me telling you go to go someone else should say it all right there.)  But he's just so great that I have to tell people about him.  Very honest, no lying just to sell etc.  He was so knowledgeable and helpful, call ahead to make sure he's there, it's worth a special trip!

Great James Perse selection, very cute casual, fitted tops with great color selections.

Nordstrom obviously has a great return policy as well and generally has great sales when looking.

Remember Justin for jeans, he's great!

I went into Macy's the other night to get some new bras.  I couldn't find a sales lady that was willing to help at all!  So I continued my painstaking search and stumbled upon 5 sales ladies, in a circle, chatting up a storm.  They looked at me like, "Go away!"

So I did... to Nordstrom's, where immediately after walking into the department I was welcomed with open arms and in return, Kristin got her commission sticker.  She was running around that store looking for exactly what I needed until I found it, including running in the back to see if they had more sizes back there.  Kristin was awesome!

The shoe selection in this place is PHE-NOM-EN-AL.  Bad place to go a few days after X-mas is over because they are hit really hard and it's hard to find a shoe in your size that hasn't already been taken.  If they don't have your size and another store/warehouse has it, it's a flat shipping fee ($5) to send it directly to you so you don't have to scour/drive to 15 stores to find your size.

The perfume & MAC departments are really helpful and they go beyond expectations if you are looking for something and you just can't quite remember what it is, or the name of it (which happens alot to me!)

I (heart) Nordy's.

the lingerie clerk was checking out my wife's butt.

startlingly, she remembered me from when i was in after x-mas, returning poorly chosen underpants: here i was re-exchanging (nordstrom will exchange 'till the cows come home), and this time i brought colleen s to do the picking of her own unmentionables.

Reynia stepped in to recommend some slinky underthings, and then, when i closed the deal, said "now that i've seen her, i'll be able to help you with sizes next time"

now men, that's permanent get out of jail free card!

Once upon a time ... but, not too long ago...

I was on a mission.  Shoes.  So many to choose from.  So much to consider.

But the problem with me has always been that I am the "stepsister" trying to fit in a Cinderella world.  Shoes--the ones I desire--rarely come in my size.  So when I stepped into the shoe department at Nordstrom and felt, yet again, like it was another wasted trek, I ran into the most thoughtful and knowledgeable sales associate who understood my task.

Enter Teah--My Fairy Shoe Godmother.  The one who read my mind and knew exactly just what to do, where to have me sit (yes, she even had the perfect spot in the store where I could contemplate...).  Girls, I mean, c'mon--We all know where to buy those drop-dead stilettos for that special date, but good service is, shall I say, a bit trickier when what you really are fantasizing about is someone who truly understands the circumstances of a "do or die" situation.

And this was my dilemma:  To find the perfect "fit" for the "perfect" audition.  Finding that perfect size "10.5" (Translation:  size 11) is difficult enough on a leisurely day, let alone when one is crunched for time.  Teah took my mission as her personal challenge.  She took it upon herself to go on this pursuit of finding that perfect fit without me having to walk around the store, without me having to utter another explanation of what I needed.  Within minutes, she returned with at least 8 pairs--all of which were totally in my taste, all of which I would have bought had budget not been an issue!  To top that off--as if that wasn't enough--she gave me cold bottled water to drink while I waited in my own little corner, in my own little chair.  --AMAZING!

The result?  --The right pair of Ferragamo's that made me feel as though I were floating on air, making me forget the hundreds in that casting call ... My head started reeling, I soon got the feeling the room had no ceiling or floor.   It's callback time a few days later...

Mission Accomplished.

This is just for the shoe department and ladies, you know what I'm talkin' about!  OMG  I could die here - seriously. Best shoe buyers on the planet. And best best best customer service anywhere.  We live in a day and age of terribly horrific customer service so I am always so shocked when someone actually knows the meaning of the term.

On a recent Saturday, a gentleman from the shoe dept who had once helped me nearly a year ago called and told me about the Munro Trunk Show going on that very day and asked if there were any styles in particular I would care to order, etc. If I weren't so broke, I would have promptly gone to the internet, picked some styles and called him back so he could get the commission.

Ah, Nordstrom shoes..........keep up the good work!

I love the cosmetics/perfume section and the people who work there. I came in to buy some stuff for my mom, and at least 3 employees from different counters came up to me to help me out. Uh. Wow. It doesn't bother me. I'd rather have them do that than being completely ignored when I'm ready to pay and have to walk all over the store to find an open register. Also, I I don't mind when they offer to try something on my face. If you are in this dept. (& have the time), have them show you new stuff or test out a new product, and you could possibly get a small makeover. I've never felt the pressure to buy anything afterwards, unless of course, I really intended to buy something here.

Nordstrom is one of those go-to spots to get everything you need: shoes, purses, makeup, clothes, accessories, did I mention the shoes? Being a bit of a shoeaholic, I've come to luhve this place, and they me. I now get calls and emails when something they think I like comes in, especially Tory Burch, my new shoe obsession. And, they recently started carrying Christian Louboutin, which is next on my list to conquer. The big news: the North Bridge location just opened a Louis Vuitton boutique, so basically I could move in there and never leave. I likes me some LV and almost cried when I heard of this wonderous event. If that makes me a "lable whore" then so be it. Yes, someone did make that inference to me to my face, and magically lived to see another day. I digress...

Nordstrom is for those who are grown up to understand that it's okay to like the nice things and not look like a rag doll. You can find merchandise in a variety of prices, they have great sales, and the sales people are generally very polite and helpful. It is for me, shopping nirvana.

This review is specific to the men's shaving department. These women have forgotten more about shaving than I'll ever know... and I'm the guy who has 5 o'clock shadow at 2pm and a growth of steel wool after a day or two. I went through most of my 20's hating to shave. I'd always have razor burns and cuts all over my neck because of my sensitive skin. My first visit to Nordstrom upon moving to Chicago, I stopped by this counter, got an education, and discovered what real shaving is all about.

Most recently I went here to buy some gifts for my groomsmen. Once again the service was without equal. All the ladies are exceptionally knowledgeable and peerless saleswomen, but the Jack Black brand spokeswoman is really a cut above.

Guys, trust me on this, treat yourself to some quality shaving products from Nordstrom. Ladies, if you're stumped for Christmas / Birthday, this is the kind of gift that keeps on giving. I highly recommend the Truffit and Hill shaving creams. My wife is particularly fond of the 1851 scent.

3 years ago while visiting Chicago on business, I needed a suit for an unplanned dinner meeting.  On 2 hours notice.  No need to panic since Nordstrom's was only a few blocks away.  As expected, they took care of everything, alterations and all, and could not have been more pleasant.

Now that I live here, I've continued to be a customer many times over and have had only positive experiences.  For any suit needs, Robert Raffeld is the one to see.  He's been in the business for years and really knows his stuff.  I wouldn't think of going any place else, or to any one else.  The selection is fantastic (from Armani to Zegna and lots in between) and I've never found better ties/shirts anywhere for the price.  Perhaps the best part of Nordstrom's is the return policy and their customer service mantra -- the customer is always right, even when we're wrong!

I always go to Nordstrom to find all the newest trendy clothing.   They sometimes never stock more than 1 of each size which is why i didnt give them 5 stars, but I guess its because they want a big selection of a ton of brands.   Thier prices are somewhat fair, you get what you pay for when it comes to brand names.   I will continue to always shop here and keep up with the recent style.

The Mens rail department blows Bloomindales away!

I enjoy the boutique set-up of the stores and often find things that fit well and last.  I find it best for work clothes and shoes for any occasion.  My god, what a shoe selection...  The sales people seem to really know their clothes and are pretty mature and considerate, giving one-on-one attention.  I need that sometimes.

My online experience was similarly great.  I ordered two bridesmaids dresses, two flower girl dresses and shoes.  Shipping for all five item?  $5!  They were shipped in three batches, but I figure that makes the shipping service pretty damned excellent since no extra charge.  Stores will accept returns in person for free, or shop back in the same box for $5.

The dresses were stunning.  I will never go to a standard bridal store again.  The seamstress workmanship at those places are nowhere near the quality of Nordstrom.  Plus I saved about $50 per dress that look like actual black-tie event clothing - a boon for those who dare to wear the same special occasion dress twice (I do it and I don't even feel cheap and dirty).

I agree with the lovely Leila... the shoe department most definitely warrants it's own Yelp category. Especially now that the Michigan Ave location carries Gucci, Christian Louboutin (my personal to-die-for fav), Prada and Jimmy Choo footwear. If I die and go to heaven it will look just like the Nordie's shoe mecca, but everything will be free!!

Of course the store in it's entirety has something for everyone, in every budget and don't forget the impeccable service - ever hear the story about the lady who once returned tires to Nordstrom? Granted, they dont carry tires but gave her the money back anyway?! Yep, the customer service really is that good. Even if the story is bogus, the hot buys you get here are not.

Nordstrom's customer service should be studied by EVERY retail store in the nation.  It exudes nothing but perfection and excellence.  In fact, I remember when I was 8 years old, and was shopping with my parents in search of one of their famous carmel apples during christmas.  They were all out, and the sales lady called a half dozen other stores (competitors even) in search of one for me.  NOW THAT IS SERVICE.

Despite my love for Nordstroms, this location only gets 4 stars for being quite small compared to other locations.  In addition, I feel their men's department needs some guidance.  At times it feels a bit MACY's........but still, it has that Nordstrom feel.

Excellent service, good presentation, nice organization- I stop in at least once a week after work for makeup products or a quick browse through BP and Savvy/T.B.D. departments. Oh, and not to mention the fabulous shoe department.

They keep up with the trends so quickly, and I like that they have many styles that aren't so pricy as well. Everything from high end make up products to fun shoes to trendy accessories in BP to special going out tops, and designer denim in Savvy... it's a one-stop fashionista stop :)
