The Noodle House is the best Vietnamese restaurant I've been able to find in the Sacramento area. The manager is friendly and the single music CD they play is hilarious (although they may have changed it). The pho has been consistently excellent and the appetizers delicious. It's a quiet little gem in a dreary mall.
Who would of ever thought you would find such yummy Vietnamese restaurant in Sacramento?! We came by here by some local's suggestion. The restaurant was CLEAN and spacious. The service was fantastic (Victor was friendly, attentive, and extremely polite).
I ordered #29(chicken vermicelli), and my bf ordered 28(beef vermicelli), and we got the shrimp spring roll for appetizer. The flavor of everything was just right - nothing is over-salted or over-flavored. (I love Vietnamese food, but I hate the feeling of having to drink a gallon of water after all the salt =p). The portion was also quite generous. The only weird thing was that they put ranch on the lettus that came with the vermicelli, trying to make it some type of "salad"... but I have a slight suspicion that this was done to please some of the clientele.
All in all, what more can you expect from a noodle house - good food, great service, decent price, and not walking out smelling like pho all over your clothes? Will definitely return if we're ever around~
I recently had lunch here after shopping at Sierra Snowboard and Skis. The sales lady who was excellent recommended a near by Vietnamese cafe which was unfortunately closed. We found this place purely by accident.
I ordered the shrimp and broccoli over rice and my gf ordered the shrimp and squid pho. I thought the pho was just average, the soup was not particularly flavorful and not very hot. It even took longer than the rice plate, which was weird since pho always comes out first in all other Vietnamese restaurants.
The rice plate was tasty. The sauce was very flavorful, the tofu very tender. However, the shrimps were small and few.
If it was more accessible to me I'd say this is a solid three stars. However, it's not worth making a trip to, so its only 2 stars.
This place is clean, spacious, and staff is friendly, but I didn't really like the food all that much. I ordered a couple of different items on the menu with 2 other friends and have gone there about 3 times. The food is a little pricey and it didn't taste like what I could have gotten from Stockton Blvd (where there are many, many, many authentic Vietnamese restaurants that serves authentic Vietnamese food). In my opinion, this place was kind of like a Vietnamese-American restaurant.
A clean little Vietnamese restaurant with friendly service. However, after having a bowl of beef noodle soup here...it left me craving for the pho I usually get on Stockton Blvd. The soup here is lacking in flavor and the beef a bit tough. But for my friend that introduced me to this place, it's the best one around the area (Citrus Heights) when you can't get to that part of town.

Ahh-this place is truly a local gem. The restaurant is tasteful & clean. The soups are great- I always get one of the yellow noodle varieties (sans goopy porklet bits) and have never been disappointed.
The spouse however has once come across a funky chicken breast in the noodle bowl-but that seems to be the exception than the norm.
Vietnamese iced coffee here is the yum!

Great place to have lunch! Friendly service and the food is good. I love the crispy noodle dishes as well as the BBQ pork dishes.

My friends and I have trolled the Sacramento area looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant and we just keep coming back to Noodle House. The environment has changed a little since Katie T's review, the restaurant is now operated by extended family of the owner; there are fewer children around and the staff have taken steps to make the dining room more elegant. Tragically, the head chef passed away, but the staff uphold his high standards and the food is just as wonderful as it ever was.
The gem of Noodle House is definitely their Pho. The owner proudly proclaims that the broth is cooked for no less than six hours before serving to customers. They cut no corners here. We've searched the area high and low for a bowl of pho that remotely compares to Noodle House and have found none.
Also not to miss are their Ginger Fried Wantons. These are absolutely delectable. If you like ginger, you won't want to miss these.
The staff of Noodle House are exceedingly friendly. Service is average. Prices are pretty decent. The bathrooms look a little dicey, but they're clean. They offer takeout. No refills on soda. Closed Mondays. I definitely recommend giving Noodle House a try!

The Noodle House is our family's haven during the colder days of winter. The staff is always humble and friendly...even after Mrs. Noodle House, as we called her, packed up and moved to Florida with the rest of her family. The food is outstanding! Starting with the Appetizers, the Ginger Fried Wontons and Crispy Breaded Shrimp and Calamari are the best. My son makes a meal out of the Wontons. The soups are amazing, particularly the Hot and Sours, and the Lemon Grass BBQ combinations are always fresh and tasty. This restaurant, for what it is, is the best we've been to both here and in San Francisco. If you're not bothered by going out of your way to find NOODLE HOUSE at Madison and Manzanita, I highly suggest that you do it! In one word: OUTSTANDING.

Excellent Vietnamese food in yet another boring Sacramento strip mall. The family that runs the Noodle House is very sweet and their young children can often be found running around while you eat. I think it's charming, but if you don't like kids you may want to think twice. I can't remember the name for it, but their Vietnamese BBQ dishes are really, really yummy.

ok so ill get to the point and then i'll ramble...
pros: Clean on asian food standards... and very friendly... and white people friendly
cons: Considering that the place is owned by viets... i am thoroughly disappointed in the food. They have an extensive menu but everything tastes off... Its kinda of like when u go out for chinese and end up with dishes like general tsao's chicken... For anyone vietnamese i'll explain.... Big english advertisements and they put RANCH DRESSING in my BUN THIT NUONG!!! crazy!!!
tea was luke warm...
It took a long time for our food to come out.
For anyone looking for vietnamese food... good rule of thumb... if u walk in and dont see a whole bunch of vietnamese people... RUN... run and never come back. vietnamese food is hard to ruin... It will still suffice but its just not the same and it definitely wont impress anyone who has experience with authentic vietnamese food.
