Awesome Thai food! I have never been to a Thai restaurant that has better food than Noodle Boat! Just the right amount of spice and flavor, very authentic.
However, the secret is out and the small restaurant fills up quickly. Don't plan to get a seat during a Friday lunch hour.
Try #28, it's amazing!

As authentic as you can get, this family run Thai place is delicious! I believe the owners were the original cooks at the Thai Ginger located in Factoria and then went off to start their own restaurant. Everyone is nice and friendly and the food is great!
I don't know why this place has such high ratings. Having worked in Issaquah for the last 6 months, I understand that it is hard to find a good lunch place in the area. However, their food was average at best.
The only redeeming thing about this place is the thai iced tea that comes in cool mugs.
I am in happy land now. A co-worker took me to noodle boat in Issaquah. I have been eating lunch in Issaquah for about 7 years and never heard of this place. Its small, easy to miss and the 2nd best Thai place in Issaquah. That really isn't saying much as I only know of four.
The Pad Thai, was a little sweet but when I asked for extra crushed peanuts I got them and then some. Oh my. Thank you Noodle boat for knowing the word extra means, "Hey I would like a lot. "
The inside of this establishment is very family owned looking, its cute. It could be better but it works.
Turns out these crazy cats are closed for the summer too. How awesomely strange is that! I want a business that I can close when I want.
Kudos for being hidden, having decent food, decent service and a decent atmosphere. But mainly for being hidden and the extra crushed peanuts.
If you want authentic Thai food in Issaquah try the noodle boat. Just, good luck finding it.
I work in Factoria and at least once every two weeks I am compelled to make the trek east to Noodle Boat. Their lunch menu is huge and very well priced, and the spice level goes from mild to truly fiery.
I wonder if there is a twelve step program to cure my addiction to their Phad Thai, Panang, Jungle Curry, Prik Khing, and the unusual #28 (something like Gai Tod Khow Ob... turmeric, lime and coconut milk infused rice with slices of fried chicken and cucumber sauce - the menu description does not do it justice). The sad thing is that I live in north Kirkland so am not able to get to the Boat for dinner more than once every couple of months... their dinner menu has even more items.
I have brought business visitors from all over (New Jersey, Southern CA, and Texas) to Noodle Boat to rave reviews. My Jersey guest even commented that she could not eat Thai any more unless she was visiting Seattle and could come here.
The service is sometimes slow and a few times we have had dishes come out of the kitchen about 10 minutes apart, but in my opinion the quality and variety of the food more than makes up for the inconsistency. I'll be there every couple of weeks regardless!
Noodle Boat is super yummy, and affordable. Also, it's just down from the Plateau. So for all the peeps who live in the Quah, you've got to check this one out. A fellow yelper recommended this and I checked it out, so glad I did! Beats Thai Ginger in Klahanie and Chantanee in Bellevue!
I've been to Thailand. I know what Thai food is supposed to taste like.
It tastes like the stuff they serve at Noodle Boat, and that's a fact.
The dishes here are innovative and interesting, curries, noodle, and rice dishes that will stomach sing and your eyes water- they've got a good amount of heat to them.
When you go (and you should) order:
*Green Boat: Rice noodles with stir-fried green curry, coconut milk, green beans, bamboo shoots, broccoli, bell pepper and basil
*Phad See-Lew
*Phuket Island Rice- Steamed rice, green beans. roasted coconut, ginger, pineapple, lemongrass, onion, lime leaves, green onions in a sauce.
*Crispy Rice Curry- Deep fried mixed rice with curry, green onions, ginger, peanuts, cilantro and lime juice.
The owners head to Thailand a few times a year to keep up with what's new and what's going on in Thai cuisine... so if that's not authentic enough for ya, I don't know what is.
Nice staff. Good people... and they'll refill your water glasses often.
There's sometimes a wait on weekend nights, so make sure you call ahead and make a reservation. Definitely one of the better restaurants in the 'Quah.
Forgive them for being on the edge of a strip mall. This small family restaurant serves great, spicy food that holds its own against some of the best Thai places in Seattle. Great mieng kum, tom kha, red curry - even their brown rice is something special. Attention to detail shows they care about their food and their cozy little space (did I just call something in a strip mall cozy? I did). Definitely appreciated this place when I lived in the 'Quah. Good for takeout, too.
I know several Thai chefs from other Thai restaurants that go here to eat... I'm serious - that is how I found this place. It might be the best Thai in the Seattle area.
There are so many great dishes - go frequently and try new things. Last time we had the "Queen of Banana" and the Tod Mun in Curry. This is only place outside of Thailand I've had great Cotton Fish - unfortunately it isn't on the menu any more.
And you'll laugh when you see the place - just remember you are there for the food - not the decorations.
Fantastic food, family owned and operated. This is one of those hole in the wall restaurants that's awesome. They add new items when they come back from Thailand.
So I had gone to this place a couple times before...and maybe it was my excitement at having found a decent ethnic (by ethnic I mean non-fast food, non-western) food in Issaquah...but the last time I went, my lunch was just awful. I don't know what happened! I ordered the Pad Thai lunch special...nothing special, definitely nothing out of the ordinary...the noodles came overcooked, overly sweet, and way too tangy. It was a horrible disappointment and I felt really bad for the co-worker I brought here raving that this was the best Thai place in town. I don't think I'll be going back.

So I had high hopes for this place I love Thai food and it is close to home. Unfortunately after waiting over a nearly 45 minutes to get our food served I was expecting more. The Phad Thai was strange in slimy kind of way and the Phad Basil was good but nothing special. Certainly will not be craving there food any time soon and it will be hard to go back thinking that it might take forever to get so so food.
I am doing a show (The Importance of Being Earnest) at the Village Theatre. We do four show weekends and always need a place to eat between shows. Being a "starving artist" has you looking for good but cheap food. Well, how about inexpensive and GREAT tasting food?! That is Noodle Boat! A large menu, vegetarian friendly and they know how to spice things up (1-4 stars). However, they get packed VERY quickly and I recently went and my dish came 30 minutes after I ordered and 10 minutes after my friends food had arrived. But this is the first time I ever waited that long. Wonderful ambiance, yummy scents filling the air and Thai food that is sure to make you smile :)"
Noodle Boat serves some pretty authentic stuff, including quite a few dishes you'll seldom find on the menus of other area restaurants. For a one-dish meal, try the Khao Soi. It's a Northern dish - egg noodles in a thick, rich curry broth. Family-style meal? I like the Tom Yum Goong (shrimp in a spicy, tart, soup), the Hoi Tod (mussels omelette), and the Kang Dang (red curry).
4 Stars - Definitely worth the drive out there!
Someone told me that they just re-opened yesterday and there was a line. A rumor has it that they were in Thailand for 2 months for "family reasons" well it looks like one of the workers came back from Thailand with more than just that. Clearly 2 floatation devices were added on to her rack as well.
Oh, about the food. It's pretty good. Cheap prices for lunch. The mauve color scheme was very 90s however service was good and for $7.95 you really can't go wrong. The Pad Kee Mow was more like WOW its spicy and the Pad See Ew was alright, not the best but not the worst.
They gave out little nick nacks from Thailand out at the end. Nice touch. You try you like. This place should be called Noodle Boobs.
This used to be my most favorite Thai restaurant for the past two years but for some reason, the flavors of their dishes are no longer consistent.
I went in there yesterday to pick up my order and it just doesn't taste the same. But then again, it hasn't tasted the same the past 5 times I've eaten there. I keep going back hoping that I'll fall in love again with their dishes.
I used to get S5 and N13 and cashew chicken a lot. Lately the S5 (fried chicken with kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass or somthing like that) has been way to salty and sweet lately. N13 (Green curry with chicken, pork and seafood) was a little bland. Pad Thai and Cashew chicken has been way too sweet. What happened???!!! They used to be so consistently great!
They used to be 5 stars for me but now I've downgraded them to a 1. Unfortunately, my husband says that we are not eating there anymore. Sorry folks.
I used to work in Issaquah and my team and I would frequent Noodle Boat once or twice a month. Their chicken pad thai is amazing and so are their curry dishes. They are very prompt with their service but if you are arriving with a large group during lunch, you might want to call and make reservations first. Lunch prices are affordable as well (about $7-$9 per dish with rice).
This is a really good Thai place, especially for Issaquah. They can do food to go or you can eat in, either is fine. Be forewarned that the waiting room is a little small and the dining area is unique to say the least. I try not to get caught up too much about the atmosphere, because the wait staff is always friendly and seems to be family owned.
The food is well prepared and I've never been been disappointed at all. I usually get the Chicken Phad Thai, which is tasty and has plenty to eat.
It's one of my two favorite places on the Eastside, the other being Typhoon in Redmond. This place however has a more small, local feel, and very reasonable prices for the quality of food.
For sure the best Thai food on the Eastside. If your are going on a Saturday, get there early or you will have wait in a not so large waiting room.
The 4 is just for food. The Thai food here is phenomenal. I won't go anywhere else for Phad Thai or curry.
Service merits a .5..the first time I came here (on a Saturday night) I waited an hour to be seated and 45 agonizing minutes later, the food came. The food was that good for me to come back here again and again.
I really can't stand the attitude of the girl who in a previous review on Yelp is described having a flotation device on her chest- when you say thank you she never says you're welcome. She has a fake smile plastered on her face. You can't miss her, it's PMS 24/7. Everytime we come here we actually joke and hope it's the other girl who takes our order.
Coming here is like passing a test: if you endure the crappy service, you get to savor a well-cooked meal.
I'll definitely be back. Oh best time to go is lunch on weekdays.
Noodle Boat is my favorite Thai food restaurant. You'll find friendly and fast service and above all, fantastic food! Their Tom Kha soup is outstanding. I recently ordered Panang Curry with prawns--so tasty! The prawns were enormous! I have enjoyed all the dishes I have ordered at Noodle Boat (especially their curry dishes). Luckily, I live in Issaquah so Noodle Boat is a convenient drive down the hill from me. If you live a bit further away, a drive into Issaquah for some scrumptious Thai food would be well worth your while!
a small modest thai restaurant in a hard-to-find location in a small strip mall. this place seems to be family-run, and their food has never disappointed ever since i started coming here around 2000. that standouts for me are the pad thai and sunny fried trout. but most dishes are good here.
I work in Factoria and make the trip over to Noodle Boat as often as I possibly can. I have gone regularly for two years now and I haven't noticed the "recent inconsistency" that one of the last reviewers complained of... the dishes seem a little smaller, but I suppose that's one way to deal with food prices without raising the menu prices, and honestly it's still more than enough for a meal. My only regret is since I live in Kirkland, I don't get to explore the expanded (like 4x as many dishes) dinner menu as often as I would like.
Overall the restaurant is a great value for the price. Lunch comes with soup or salad (the menu charmingly says "in could soup or salad" instead of "includes") and drinks are priced lower than many places (thai iced tea for $1.95).
I love spicy food and have often complained about the bland Seattle take on Thai that most restaurants follow - even saying "I like spicy food, so make this what YOU would consider spicy" doesn't always get the food past "medium". At Noodle Boat I often order 3 stars to better taste the flavors and to avoid sniffling into my napkin. If you like spicy Thai, this place is for you. The Tom Yum Gai is incredible.
Try the fried "cotton fish" for an unusual and authentic dish (dinner menu only).
I think I'll have to head over tomorrow for lunch - writing this review is making me hungry...
We were scouting around for a good spot for Thai food in the Issaquah area and came across all these great reviews for Noodle Boat on Yelp.
Spot on, y'all!
Someone had recommended the Green Boat highly and it sounded really, really delicious -what with all the green curry, green beans, kaffir leaves, steamed noodles, basil. It was PHENOMENAL! i had a huge pile of leftovers that i polished off the next day. One quick word of caution though: their spice scale is 1-4, and i made the mistake of picking a 3. It was wayy hot for even my spice-trained Indian palette.
The husband had the "Whatever You called" curry with chicken-interesting peanut sauce with pineapples, water chestnuts and peanuts. He loved it..it was a tad too sweet for me though.
i cant wait to go back and try the Island rice-sounds delish!
the service was very friendly, if slightly slow-they were very busy on the Saturday night we went, and have only two servers.
the menu choices were vast and varied, the usual suspects (Cashew Nut, Swimming Rama, Phad ginger) were all there, but there were several other fresh new names and combinations i have not seen in the Thai Gingers of the world. So yep- i am def going back!
If you like Thai, then you must find your way to this gem in Issaquah. The noodle boat has a simple menu, but the dishes are fantastic in both presentation and flavor.
Friendly staff! Tried their Tom Kha soup with tofu. Yummy, great flavors! Also had the spring rolls, nice and crispy and the filling was great. For dinner we ordered the Phad Thai -- average! Nothing special but was still good. Also ordered the Pla Lard Prig, boyfriend said it was good. Sat outside which is really nice in the summer. Try the Tom Kha soup - really good hot and sour soup with unique flavors!
Absolutely the best and most authentic Thai food! 30% of the items on the menu are family recipes. The Phad Thai, Zabb Zabb salad and anything else you order will not disappoint you. If you order 4* it will be 4*
Noodle Boat is family owned and they work year round 7 days a week. They are very friendly and accommodating. Service is fast.
Best Thai food in the greater Seattle area, hands-down.
