Excellent.  A quaint place with a quirky but friendly staff, prices were a bit higher than I'd have preferred, but overall fairly reasonable.  Good menu selections for kids and adults both.

The blackened ribeye steak was quite simply perfectly delicious.  The mac and cheese was clearly made with real cheese.   The strawberry cake?  Absolutely amazing, topping off a great meal with an even better dessert.

Worth a try.  We're not in Denver too often, but I'd definitely consider a visit next time.

Went to this place last night and it was just ok. Had the gumbo which was definitely not the best I've had and was ridiculously overpriced for a small cup! $4.50?!?!? With an entree!?!?! Really?!?!?

The entree itself was decent, the sausage with angel hair pasta. The marinara sauce had a unique flavor and had a bit of kick to it. Probably would have preferred andouille sausage though.

Lucile's with a one hour wait on a Sunday morning is better. This place is too far from me so I doubt I will go again.

I just found a new favorite cajun restaraunt.  This is called a cafe and it is very enjoyable.  Seating inside and a nice large patio outside to watch the storms roll in off the mountains.  The menu was simple but very good selections.  I had the Monica smothered catfish which was awesome.  Great sauce and excellent cajun seasoning.

We did start out with the crabmeat au gratin and bite after bite all you say is, "MMMMMMMMM".  The french bread and dipping sauce is very good also.  All in all this is a great restaraunt.  It's a little off the beaten path but well worth the trip.  We will definitely be making this one of our regular dinner spots when we are cravin cajun.  Thier food has a good kick, just what we were expecting.  Thank you Nono's!  We'll be back :)

I am a huge fan of NoNo's food, especially the blackened catfish (in a salad, sandwich or as a plate with macaroni n cheese and sliced tomatoes). Their soups and gumbos are divine and made from scratch, as are their dressings and pickles. On weekends, their breakfasts are generally very good (I love the breakfast in bread - eggs, ham, potatoes and onions smothered in country gravy and put in a bread bowl - YUM!). So far, NoNo's makes the best country gravy I've had in Denver. Frankly, it's the best cajun/creole food in Denver, at a modest price. The menu rotates every few weeks, so they can feature new specials, and they are a very family focused restaurant.

I will say that  I was a bit disappointed at my visit today. We could tell immediately that the owners, Brian and Sonda, were on vacation as the staff seemed to have trouble with a typical Sunday brunch crowd, and they were lacking a bit of the welcoming Southern charm I had grown used to. I'm sure that will reappear on my next visit - maybe then I'll rate it 5 stars.

We went to Nono's for the first time last night.  The staff was friendly, and the dining room comfortable.  The wine list was small but well thought-out.  The salad seemed like an afterthought, but the dipping sauce they brought out with the bread was outstanding.  My husband had a cup of the lobster bisque, which was fantastic.

We both had seafood pasta; I had the Crawfish Monica and he had a cajun seafood pasta--both were delicious, and the portions were beyond generous.  Both made great leftovers the next day.  We had a piece of the strawberry cake for dessert--the frosting was tasty, but it wasn't my favorite.

I will definitely be back!  Can't wait to go when the weather's nice and sit on the porch with a view of the mountains.

I had the blackened catfish w/ mac n cheese.  Yum!!  Service was good, especially since I called for take out..but decided at the last minute to just stay and eat due to the construction on County Line.  Was little more than I wanted to pay, but hey..such is life!

Yay for non-chains!

OK, considering I went to Panera Bread for dinner last night, I shouldn't really say anything close to "ugh chains are a scourge upon America." But...I live within a one-mile radius of a Chili's, Outback, Applebee's, McDonald's, a FuddRuckers, a Pizza Hut, a Taco Bell...OK, you get the picture. Having come from the non-chained splendor that is San Francisco, it was a bit jarring to return to the 'burbs and be faced with the grim reality that I couldn't just pop out of my apartment and have amazing dining options within a 10-minute walk.

My boyfriend said there weren't many good independent dining options around here, and I set out to disprove him. Well, I didn't totally succeed, because the variety IS pitiful...BUT I had a small victory in NoNo's.

Very good gumbo (my basis of judging any Cajun place), reasonable prices (yay!), warm atmosphere, someplace you can bring the kiddies but not some American-reheated-bar-grill idea of a family place.

Call me petty or mean, but sometimes I test new restaurants. You know. Ask a question to make them shake in their shoes or blush with embarrassment, see if they'll admit defeat, squander pride.

I met my friend Lisa at NoNo's for lunch during spring break. I considered being polite and figuring out the menu for myself, but...

I let the waitress know that I couldn't eat gluten, which meant I couldn't eat anything with wheat or oats or barley, asking if she could mention this to the kitchen. I assured her I love all food and would be happy to eat anything non-gluten. Sometimes when I make this request, the wait staff tries to take matters into their own hands, insisting I can eat X or Y, even though they have no clue what the ingredients are in such dishes.

Our waitress headed right to the kitchen, happy to oblige my request. Score one point. She returned with suggestions of eight entrees I might eat. Wow. Score one point.  Eight things? How cool is that! She patiently pointed out choices on my menu. Score one point for her patience.

The chef came out to help. Score three points. The chef? You've got to be kidding. He wanted to be sure I got food I wanted. Score one point. He wanted to be sure I had as many choices as possible. Score another point.

Chef started listing off the ingredients from each dish he was recommending. He knew the ingredients off the top of his head? Score one point. We narrowed my choice to the Blackened Cajun Catfish Salad. Chef ran through the ingredients in his blacking ingredients. Score one point. Chef and waitress checked to be sure I was happy with my choice before they left my table. Score one point.

Waitress filled my water glass without me asking again and again. Score one point.

My meal came. The fish was cooked just right: blackened seasonings down-right spicy,  not undercooked, not overcooked. Score two points. The salad was an interesting mix of greens, red pepper, tomatoes and a bit-o-kitchen-sink. Score one point.

The waitress returned every little-bit to see if we needed anything, never interrupting our conversation. Score one point.

The restaurant was easy to get to: down Santa Fe, left on County Line, restaurant on the left. Score one point. I loved the crazy decor inside: signatures from famous people, handmade quilts, mountain views, and pralines for sale at the register. Score one point.

It is rare that a restaurant can handle my first-time test. NoNo's did, with a flare. Though my point system means mostly nothing, each point equals "Holly is slightly more impressed than she was a moment ago."

Lisa, let's go again soon.

Went to No No's for the first time over the weekend, and was greatly impressed.

The lobster bisque was very good and had the right amount of kick to it...as did the Shrimp Creole. The portions were the right size, and the taste was what you'd expect. It was an overall enjoyable experience, and we'll definitely be back.

If the mixed fruit pie is available for dessert...don't pass it up.

Nono's is a great little place for a relaxing evening sitting out on the porch--that is when its warm enough.  The atmosphere is laid back, but my server was great!  She was quick and friendly.

I had the jambalaya for an app and the crabmeat au gratin for dinner.  Had I known more about the crabmeat au gratin, I would have just ordered that as an app and gotten a salad.  The au gratin was delish--gooey and cheesy and melty.  BUT that isn't really what I needed as my entree.  I loved it though.  My boyfriend ordered the lobster or shrimp bisque which was creamy and good.  He had Crawfish Monica for his entree.  I remember it being really good and perfectly filling.  I had food envy.

But the best part of this place was the sinful sweet beverage we had.  I remember warm summer evenings when my mom would pull fresh mint from her garden and make a mint julep.  I only ever had a little sip at that young age.  Now I'm happy to say I've found a place that makes fantastic mint juleps much like Mom's.  Watch out though, they're so good you'll just suck them right now.  I know--I had three!

Great food.  I had the Crabmeat Au Gratin and it was superb.  It came with a salad and bread.  My fiance had the Bayou Burger and it was a mess he went through 3-4 napkins but he loved it -- not a good first date food for sure.  The restaurant itself has a patio which they close in during the winter months and the place is like an old house.  Its very welcoming and home-like.  They have 7 different menu's and they rotate them every three weeks so you could go back and have something completely different.

We will definitely go back during the summer and sit on the patio and enjoy the great view.

This cheerfully decorated spot in Littleton, located in a sunny yellow house and endearingly named after the owner's grandfather, features a menu graced with favorite recipes from the family's relatives and friends. The menu changes often, but you can always count on Cajun and Creole dishes like gumbo, jambalaya, etoufee, blackened catfish and bread pudding.

The wrap-around front porch spills over with patrons waiting for a table, but it's a comfy place to hang while reading the newspaper.

Nono's Cafe surely has one of the most beautiful views I have ever seen, at least from a restaurant window anyway. Not surprisingly, when we arrived for dinner at 7ish, all the outside  tables were taken. Inside, Nono's decor is whimsically olde worlde in a Cracker Barrel giftshop kinda way. The walls and shelves are jammed with assorted knick knacks, souvenirs and memorabilia, and handmade quilts hang from the rafters. It's not really my cup of tea, but it gives the place a warm and homely feel.

I usually flick through a menu, and know within 30 seconds what I'm gonna order. Not so at NoNo's Cafe. Catfish... Shrimp Po Boy... Crawfish linguini... Crawfish Pie... Salmon... Ugh, what did I want? After much debating, I settled on the Roast Beef Po Boy ($8.49) plus a side salad. He chose the Red Beans and Rice appetizer ($3.99) followed by Gumbo ($9.69). After a rather long wait, the beans and rice and salad arrived. Both were ok, nothing exceptional. After another annoying wait, our entrees were brought out. My Po Boy was really delicious - tender meaty slices of beef smothered in a hearty brown gravy on a nice chunk of French bread. The accompanying bag of chips were pretty lame and bland. He liked the gumbo but I thought it was rather watery and boring. I was also put off by the way it had been carelessly slopped into the bowl. Throughout the meal our server was nowhere to be seen, and the plates were cleared away by the guy who seated us. I didn't get a re-fill either.

Despite the spotty service, I enjoyed the meal at Nono's. I really want to try their crawfish boil that I've been reading about!

PS Closed on Mondays.

FIVE STARS!!  Nono's is excellent.  Are you looking for a place where you can eat great food with a view of the front range?  Are you a transplanted southerner looking for cajun or creole, but don't want to spend a fortune?  Do you like a restaurant with a family atmosphere and a friendly staff?  If so, Nono's is the place for you.  The red beans is rice tastes right out of the French Quarter.  The Curry Chicken salad is also a favorite.  There's even a nice compliment of Louisiana beers!  They change out their menus often so it's a different place each time you go.  Try it!  Ask for an outside table.

First of all NoNo's has one of the best views of any restaurant in Denver period. Its staggering views of the foothills remind even the natives of what a beautiful state this is. The restaurant facility is very much a southern rural inspired theme. Very down home and warm with a nice mix of patrons as well from the yuppies, the hipsters, and families. I got a blackened steak salad with artichoke and the wife got gumbo. My parents got a BBQ beef sandwich and salmon with pasta. Every one was quite content with the quality of the food. Its funny to eat with my parents becuase they get stuck on the same crappy chains like outback, and are just beside themselves to visit a place like Nono's. Observing them realize that Nono's is less expensive, incomparably better, and much closer is always pretty entertaining. I myself found myself thinking of all the relatives that would enjoy coming to a place like this when they come in to town. Basically I am saying this restaurant has a great traditional southern menu, decent prices, and has a really good atmoshpere to keep the family and I coming back for more.

The only draw back was our server. She seemed pretty distant since the restaurant started to empty out and she basically had as well. She probably had some kegger to go to but if you still have a table then give it good service.

Overall a definite recommend

Awesome food.  I'm not sure what authentic cajun food tastes like, but this place had some of the best cajun food I've ever tasted.  The gumbo was spectacular, as were some of the pies.  I had the sausage and spinach pie, and the wife had the chicken pot pie.  The chicken pot pie had an interesting sage taste throughout.  The gumbo really hit the spot on a cold winter afternoon.  Waitress was very nice, and the owner came by to check on us a couple of times.

We've been to NoNo's many times.    Their breakfast menu is small but we've liked the items we've tried.  I really like the "breakfast in bread" and the stuffed french toast.   My whole family, children included, love the blackened catfish and mac and cheese.    I loved the strawberry cake! The waiters are usually friendly and competent, if not terribly speedy.
