My crew of ladies started our Friday girls' night out at Noche.  The place was crowded (but not overly so) around 7:30.  We grabbed a booth (which are very poorly constructed, I might add--unless reclining into your neighbor's table is supposed to happen) and ordered some nachos and a pitcher of beer.  Had we arrived earlier, we would have been able to take advantage of the buy one get one pizzas and half priced apps.  Luckily, Noche's nachos were worth their regular price.  The mountain of chips (some of which were a little browned from the oven--my favorite!) with cheese, chicken, jalapenos, sour cream, black beans, salsa and guacamole was the perfect meal to kick off the weekend.  Our server kept our pitchers a-coming, and the experience as a whole was pleasant.

One thing I don't get is the pool table.  It takes up way too much real estate, and it's almost impossible to get to either the juke box or bathroom without being speared in the kidney by a pool stick.

Went here with an old classmate I reunited with after twenty one years and Noche was the victor for our last drink in Center City.

The bar is located upstairs where two bouncers welcomed us at the door. It was pouring rain outside and decided to take shelter sans umbrellas.

There's a pool table on one end and a few tables at the other end. We settled right by the bar and ordered drinks. I had a newcastle and was good for the night. Our bartender was not friendly. He wasn't chatty or particularly beaming with sunshine either.

I'd definitely skip this place the next time I'm in town!

Yup, I live in Center City.
Yup, I like convenient places to grab a drink/meet up with a friend.
Nope, I never ever think to go to Noche.

It's a darkish, open room with a pool table, some booths, and a bar.  There are some loud "young professionals" there.  That's about it.  I've been here a couple times and left with no significant memories whatsoever.

There's nothing terribly wrong with Noche, it's just so nondescript and uninteresting, I'd much prefer to share a 6-pack with a friend in my apartment.  Even for those who don't live nearby, there are plenty of other bars with more personality, better beers, and much better food to make this worth the trip or the money.  If you're on that end of Chestnut, I'd recommend Devil's Alley.  Or just go somewhere else in the city....all these places are pretty lame anyway.

After my last experience at Noche, I will not return. It is full of the immature young professional crowd during happy hour that I find irritating. There is not much space to sit--

Their pitcher specials are decent-- they used to have a Magic Hat pitcher special but stopped it and then I stopped having any interest in Noche.

Skip this one

This place was pretty empty. Fine by me. Waitress was super nice and checked on us several times. That goes a long way. $4 Grapefruit vodka? Hell yeah.
$5 pitchers of Horrible Beer? Whatever..I aint drankin it.

As the afternoon went on the crowd was really annoying, it's not the fault of the bar though. Too many shaved head suits. Have skinsheads started wearing a full suit now??

This place is noisy, poorly laid out, and full of various prepsters and lawyers with money to waste.

Our server padded the tab significantly. Upon further examination the prices on the receipt were higher than what was listed on the menu. The drink counts were totally inaccurate.

That's the last $500 tab you stick us with Noche!

in re-reading my review, i realize i may have been a little harsh with the one star. my main frustration is that a locally-owned bar with such a cool atmosphere and view, right in downtown center city needs to have security check your bag at the door during happy hour. how could one ever feel welcomed enough to become a regular here? as much as i love a good deal, it is my suspicion that if they nixed specials such as the $3 jager and tuaca shots - which we all know attracts the wrong crowd - and offered a more balanced blend of craft to mass-market beers on tap, they would be seriously on to something, and would likely no longer need a security budget like many of their neighbors (smiths, continental, etc.) i think it's a great sign that they're reading and responding to customer concerns on yelp.

I've covered the 4 Corners Management bars that I don't like (Drinker's Pub, and Drinker's Tavern), And I covered the one that I enjoy the most (Bar Noir). So I may as well cover another one of their bars that I can tolerate and have a good time in.

NoChe can have the same crowd as both Drinker's (it's directly above the one on Rittenhouse). But while theirall overcrowding the bar area, you and your closest friends can practically take over the posh and comfortable booths by the back. their the perfect spot for good bar conversation and soaking up some suds. The windows by them also have a pretty good view of the Rittenhouse streets below.

Going to the overcrowded bar portion for your drinks can be the one flaw. but once you make your way through you'll find some well rounded drinks (not too divey yet nothing overly fancy either) and some bartenders who can be friendly considering what their dealing with. while the jukebox does serve up plenty of duds, it can be pro 80's. I'm also giving it up to NoChe for the friendly door people. it's definitely never going to be the first place on my list for the evening, but I'll be back.

$8.50 for two top shelf cosmos...SPECTACULAR!

Of course, I was one of five customers there so they were probably happy to have a "crowd" but I'm willing to drink alone for $4.25 cosmos :)

People seem to dig the pool table here.  So if you're a pool shark, come on up.  Unfortunately Noche is NOT handicap accessible so please keep that in mind.

Noche also seemed to have a lot of HH specials so do it up you 5-7 drinkers.

Wednesday Night Review.

Was there post-dinner from about 8:30-11pm...

Like most have said, it was fairly tame. It's on the 2nd floor, with rather steep steps leading up --- I can DEFINITELY imagine some drunken tumbles up and/or down those steps. Buyer Beware.

Without it being crowded, I was able to actually check out the place. Nothing too fancy. Just a long bar, a few tall tables, wall-lined booths.

They have four bathrooms... two uni-sex, and one for each gender. Can definitely see it being essentially one men, three women on the weekends.

Drinks were averaged price. My first ketel-soda seemed a bit light. The 2nd and 3rd seemed a bit stronger ;)

They have some pretty good happy hour (5-7pm) pitcher/draft specials. roughly $2-4/pint, and I think $5-7/pitcher. They also have a "regular" special menu which included $3 bud lights(I think) as well as $3 jager shots and $6 jager bombs --- definitely catered to the "let's get bombed" crowd.

Coo place. I suppose.

The drinks are small but the space is hott!
It's dim it's full of ambiance and beauty.
I will agree...most of the time it's pretty empty...unless we come in...lol Sue travels with a crew...so we pack it up!  So if you're looking for someplace that will be able to accommodate a large group...check out Noche!

Great place for a saturday evening after shopping and being in busy Center City. They have margarita pitchers for $10-12 and $3-4 nachos. Upstairs overlooks 19th and Chestnut providing a nice city overlook.

Getting here early is the key to whether or not you will have a pleasant experience (pending you go on the weekend, as peers have suggested). I'd encourage showing up on the early side of 9 o'clock, grabbing a booth, and parking it for the night.

The prices are pretty standard in the way of drinks, and I've never had food. But by 10-11 o'clock it gets really crowded, and the lines for drinks/bathroom get downright absurb. By securing a table, you'll get a waitress who will keep the drinks coming, and continuously try to get more drinks out of you to earn the space. That's cool, I understand.

This is one of the few bars that really caters to the 27-40 crowd, as opposed to so many of Philly's 20-30, or 30-40 polarized bars. If you do go, wear something somewhat dressy... button downs, not tees... leather shoes/fresh sneakers, not flip flops or Rockports.

The best thing about this place is its view, which is one reason I'm glad they dim the lights so damn low.

Go on Wednesday for Happy Hour. $5 of Magic Hat #9. Great deal. The pizza is alright too. Not my crowd normally, but I'll deal with the shiny shoe guys and the spiky hair dudes if I can pay 5 bucks for a good pitcher.

I've gone here with a huge group of my grad school friends and was happy that we were able to get seats with tables for all of us. It was Thursday night, so it wasn't too crowded.  The staff was friendly, and the decor was cool.  It was sort of starry night-ish inside.  Dark and twinkly.  The drinks weren't bad, and the pizza was okay.  I'd go back again.

Noche was busy on the Saturday night we went, but not so busy that we couldn't find a table off to the side. A nice view and decent food menu made it worth the trip, but use the restroom beforehand as there is only one and the line is consistently long.

I've never had a bad time at Noche, well except for the time I opened the door to the bathroom and there were two girls in there and they slammed the door in my face and the bouncer who was waiting with me started laughing. Actually that was pretty funny so I guess I haven't had a bad time here. Noche is my shot place, it's a great spot to just start pounding them down with friends and get some pizza to soak up the alcohol. Many fun nights in the dark open room at Noche.

I agree with Zoran's review.  Noche is pretty much dead every night of the week except for Friday's and Saturday', so don't waste your time going there any other time.  I'm not sure what it is about Noche, but it always gives me an unsettled feeling, and every time I go I am trying to find somewhere else to be.  If you go, get there early, grab a table and enjoy the pitcher specials.

I don't know why Rittenhouse lounge/bars feel the need to crank the music up so loud you can hardly hear anybody, while turning the lights down so low that you can hardly see anybody.  It's like being in a sensory deprivation tank with somebody standing over it, hitting it repeatedly with a hammer.  I guess this place could be cosy in a loungy way if they played different music at a lower volume.  But then again, I'm not a big fan of the tables either--they're just not inviting. Also, there was no beer to speak of so it was Jameson on the rocks for me.

Noche is always a great time.  However, the place tends to be empty most days.  Saturday nights are usually pretty big.  Their selection of cocktails is interesting and good.  I usually get beer everywhere I got, but at Noche I hit up a few cocktails.

The atmosphere is usually pretty good, but around 11pm they tend to crank up the music and then it's just impossible to hear anyone.
