I hate seafood, absolutely despise it, and still this was one of my favorite meals ever. The service here is incomparable, I have never been waited on like that in my life. Multiple times throughout the meal chopsticks were dropped and the wait staff replaced them before we even noticed.

Even if you don't like seafood you somehow will here. The rock shrimp is amazing and the kobe burgers got rave reviews at our table. The waiter gave us incredible advice and guided us through an excellent meal. While the prices were high, no one even dared complained after the experience. If you have the money go to Nobu, you won't be disappointed.

Look at me, NO, LOOK AT ME, I'm FABulous, no?

That pretty much sums up Nobu Miami Beach.  Yes, the meals are fresh and somewhat inventive, however, the prices are a little over the top.  I've had dinner at Nobu in Dallas and New York, but the Miami Beach outlet by far has the most dramatic scene. If you're looking to feel hip and cool and want to check out the latest in fashion, this is the place to be.

Nobu is my favorite restaurant of all time!! The food and cocktails are fabulous! Yes, the scene is trendy which makes eating there all the better. I have heard that the more attractive you are the better table you get. The first table at Nobu is supposedly where they sit hot people on purpose.....YES, I have sat there plenty!!

I absolutely LOVE Nobu. I hate fish and on most occasions will not touch it but Nobu had me eating pounds and pounds of raw and cooked fish like a crazy person. My favorite was the cod that when slightly touched with my fork fell from its displayed form into perfectly sliced petals.

Pretty minimalist in  decor, but friendly, attentive, and detail-oriented staff...As we'd already had dinner, I didn't order too too much...Hot mis chips with scallops were not what we'd expected at all, the sauce being overly sweet AND salty at the same time. The Tiradito, thinly sliced whitefish, fanned out on a plate, with hot chili dab, and cilantro garnish, drizzled with citrus was very tasty and refreshing when paired with the gin-based Yuzu Martini...Live Scallop sushi was plump and fresh, live conch sushi was very crunchy and sweet, sea urchin was nutty and palate-pleasing, and toro was perfectly fatty and melted in me mouth!!! For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Bento, Chocolate Fondant served with green tea ice cream, one of the best chocolate souffle type desserts that I've tasted... Snack for 2: $143.51, with 18% service charge already included

I love Nobu and all but umm the one in New York is b-e-t-t-e-r.  Even though this one still has more space the food was alright.  I remember just going to Nobu than I remember my meal.  And that probably sums it up.  It's Nobu in Miami Beach...you're not actually here for the food.  Though it is good food.  This review makes no sense!

Oh and if you're interested in joining the cool kids club this is a good place to start.  Just bring a credit card.  With some room left on it.

I thought it was pretty awesome despite reading some other reviews.  I understand the hype factor, and I know what it's like to be let down with great expectations.  But I don't feel that Nobu did this to me in the slightest sense.  Yes, it's pricey, but would you go to Miami (sobe in particular) expecting it not to be?  Aside of food, you may be headed here to see and be seen, which may also be worth your dolla dolla billz y'all.

One thing that many sushi novices (myself included) look forward to are quality rolls.  These are for those who like the idea of eating raw fish, but don't want each bite to be entirely fishy.  Nobu does not cater to such individuals.  This place will serve you high quality sushi grade fish, and do it with class.  Their rolls are not a feature of the menu - I think it's safe to assume that the hot and cold apps are meant to be ordered mostly, giving off a "small plates venue" feel to their food.. try a few appetizers, especially rock shrimp in creamy spicy sauce.  Though not a culinary masterpiece, it was the winner at our table.  The service was impeccable and the plates came out within minutes.  Dessert was just right, recommended are the banana spring rolls.  Actually, I recommend..the whole menu.

I  love Nobu... I have been going to Nobu since it was open... and i really enjoy the trendy and the ambiance that Nobu has specially on Fridays night. The sushi is great and the rock shrimp is yam my delicious they also have great salads , the heart of palm salad is the bomb!!!!

In case you are not in the mood to sit and have dinner you can always order dinner in the lounge area and enjoy the music while having dinner. They do not take reservation , unless it's table of 6 plus.
Nobu is expensive but i a well spent money. You can go to Nobu with your girls for a great girls night out or you can go with your special one and i am sure you ll have a great time in both circumstance and guys you can either go with your boys and have a great time or make that a special date....

One tends to drink their calories in South Beach rather than eat them. But being Sustainable Partiers, we knew we needed some quality sustenance at least now and then during WMC week, so our one-meal-a-day plan fortunately landed us at Nobu one night. I thought there was no chance of walking in without a reservation, but we were seated immediately (by a gorgeous stork of some kind of foreign model) and had nice glasses of savignon blanc in minutes. I was so happy to gives the dogs a rest and get some grub I didn't even notice that Pink was sitting next to me.

I wanted to order everything on the menu, but we settled for a sashimi plate and a spinach dish that was to die for and mushroom soup (that was not very flavorfull) and an awesome scallop dish. I personally thought the meal itself was 4.5 stars in terms of freshness, creativity, and presentation. Our server was right on top of things even though he was covering a whole section of  high-maintenance, ego maniacal Miami superstars and wanna-be's.

If you've been to the Nobu in NY, you know you are not getting out of here for under 300 bills. The benefit of the SoBe location, at least for us coming from a casual roof party, was that there isn't really a dress code. Since "dress to impress" is a whole different beast in this town, its good to know you can still roll into the best sushi restaurant in the world in a skirt and flip flops and get some sustenance so you can get out there and do it all over again!

My dining experience at this nobu was terrible. I'll preface this review by saying I love both nobu's in new york and London Nobu was great.

I found small pieces of plastic in my rock shrimp and the shrimp was fishy.  The waiter took it back and gave us another one without explanation of why there was plastic (or fish bones??) in my shrimp.

The staff wasn't too great either. They gave us the wrong food at one point. I feel the waiter should have comped us on the rock shrimp.

The worst part was at the end of the night. We were looking up at the light fixtures and noticed all these little fruit flies on the ceiling. It was totally disgusting.

If anything, I'd only go back for the scene and some saki.

oooh My sister and I are so fancy.....

We got all dressed up in our Miami outfits (me in a cute little black dress) and went to Nobu. We only had a 30 minute wait and got a drink at the bar and people watched until our eyes almost fell out - I am pretty sure the people watching in Miami Beach is better than Vegas.

Ok on to the Food:

Miso Cod - Did not sound good but tasted so unbelievable. You cannot go to Nobu and not try this fantastic dish. The sauce is sweet, fabulous addictive sauce that I dream about now.....
Rock Shrimp w/spicy sauce - SOOOO good, my second fav. YUM
Tuna roll / Unagi Roll - what is ironic is that the sushi rolls were just ok here
Tuna Tataki - yummy
Yellowtail w/jalapeno - Very good!!
Bottled water, Sake, Beer

For a Grand and outrageous Total of: $225

My sister and I are so fancy AND SMART - we had $150 of this paid for from a contest she won :)

****
This place is very good. I really loved 2 of the dishes and unique flavor.  The price tag is mainly for the cool factor - which is pretty ridiculous thus I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars.

One thing I noticed, which explains the normal long waits, they take their time serving you but it is not in a bad way, it is in a really nice way - a dish a time.

Food: 5 stars
Service 3 stars

The food was delicious. Started with the Salmon skin salad and then had the Cod (my favorite part of the meal). The Salmon skin was smoky and the greens and rice vinegar dressing complemented each other well. The Cod was served warm with a sweet tangy sauce (lightly marinated) the fish was very soft and tender and melted in your mouth. The rolls that followed were also delicious.

However our waitress was very unhelpful in terms of suggesting food etc and was just generally unresponsive.

This place is definitely a scene but the food is wonderful as are the drinks (though both are very pricy)

After dinner check out the Shore Clubs pool and outdoor patios which are lovely.

Nobu.  If you're intrigued by those 2 syllables you really should try this place at least once.  I have not tried the NYC or Vegas locations, but feel like Sobe is a right on spot for the whole Nobu scene, particularly with its location inside the Shore Club.

Fist of all, the FOOD:  iVery well prepared and light overall.  It's a great place to have a lighter meal to get you ready for a night out in Sobe.    The Miso Cod is an absolute must!  Every time I've had it just kinda dissolves upon first bite, coated in a light sweet miso sauce.   This is what single handedly got me on my current cod kick, now ordering it whenever wherever possible.   I have yet to find anywhere that does cod like Nobu.    Other "must order" dishes, in my opinion, are The Rock shrimp (which isTemura-ish without being heavy and is well complemented by a spicy sauce) and The Jalepeno Yellowtail . . . just try it even if you are not a jalepeno person:  you will not be sorry.  The yellowtail is always super fresh and the jalepeno infused sauce is unmatched.   Those 3 items are pretty much my only go-to's.  . . of course there is the sushi, but growing up in the Bay Area I have note been exceedingly impressed.  I would really like to check out their dessert but have not been able to yet.  Damn Sobe-non-dessert- eaters!  The drinks are not particularly notable.

Then of course there is the SCENE:  Its inside the Shore Club and is always pretty packed with your typical Sobe crowd, which I enjoy although everyone does not.  Even if you are typically given special treatment elewhere, do not really expect that here.  They just don't seem to do that very often.  Which is a-OK by me, but I know with the higher price tags many expect otherwise.  I went here once with a big group and the service was notably worse and less attentive than when I've gone as a part of a duo.  Fun place either way tho, and you really shouldn't be going for the service anyway. . . at least not at this location.  I like being able to stroll out to Skybar or Red Room right there for drinks before or after dinner.  I also like the fact that I have never felt "wardrobe-ly out of place" here even when pretty dressed up.  Like I said, I think this is a perfect place to start your night . . . especially if you are staying at the Shore Club or near by.

All in all, the food here is as memorable and specially prepared as it claims to be.  The prices are not low, but there shouldn't be any misconceptions there.  I enjoy the scene, even with the less than stellar service.  As with many things, it is what it is, so enjoy what it is for what it is!  Ha.

Probably one of the best restaurants in Miami. Almost every dish had a WOW factor and made me feel like I wasn't eating the same crap found in Miami's sub-par Japanese restaurants.

A few dishes I would recommend: miso cod, rock shrimp, toro with jalapeno. The mojitos were alright, but tasted a little bit too much like lemonade; I would recommend getting another shot.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone on a budget below $200 for a couple. Drinks included, our bill for two came to $400.

There are two things I find rather terrible about Nobu Miami: the service and the atmosphere. Regarding the service, our server was not very knowledgeable about the menu; he also refused to ask servers who WERE more knowledgeable. I don't think he deserved the  18% gratuity he automatically rewarded himself. The atmosphere is a bit of a letdown. If you are charging $60+ a plate, please make an effort to decorate your restaurant and bar in more than the standard bamboo and green. Also, please make an effort to not have us cramped in a room within arms length of hundreds of others.

Bottom line: A+ food, C service, B atmosphere.

For those of you who know me, I tend to stick to the more traditional style of food for each region. But for this night, I decided to go out on a limb since I have never been to Nobu before; plus a couple friends wanted to try it.

Like everything else down here, it has a very trendy, club/ lounge feel. A place you go to be seen and watch others. Inside it was pretty loud, with a mix of music and conversation.

Service was horrible. In order to get a refill on my green tea, I had to ask the waiter 3 different times. Then it finally arrived once we were almost ready to leave. The scallops were badly over cooked. My Ceviche dish thingy had more vegetables than seafood and the Sushi wasn't even fresh. Weird since we are walking distant to the beach.

Would I go back, NEVER! Would I consider trying another location or restaurant owned my the same person Not Likely.

I have had fresher sushi at Mitsuwa and Nijiya. I'm not even talking about the food court, but the grocery store.

I should have listened to my better half when he cringed at the idea of eating here... but it was pouring rain and the restaurant was conveniently located inside of our hotel.

We ordered 10 or so dishes for 6 people "to share".  Apparently when you share a dish at Nobu, this means that you order three of everything.  When we got the first few dishes, we just assumed the dishes were large and marginally enjoyed them.

Our next dishes arrived in three separate plates.  When we asked the waitress why we were receiving 3 dishes of everything, she responded by telling us this is what we ordered.  Then she proceeded to argue with my friend when he insisted that we just ordered one of everything "to share".  Not only was she wrong to misinterpret our order, but she was double wrong to argue with us for 20 minutes instead of just removing the extra two dishes of everything.

Bad service and mediocre food.  I would recommend getting an umbrella before resorting to eat here.

Ate at Nobu last week.  In reality, I had trouble finding it, since it is back in the Shore Club, through the lobby, out back, then through another restaurant and back on the left.

Once we found it, I was happy that we were seated pretty quickly.  We arrived at 8:00 PM on a Friday night and it was busy, but off season so the line had not started yet.

Good lobster salads(turns out Market Price meant $49 for an appetizer) and even better sashimi.

The tables were a little too close together, I mentioned to my girlfriend that the woman in the corner looks like Janet Jackson 20 years ago and the table next to me responded that it IS Janet Jackson, so not the place to go for a private conversation, but not terrible Feng Shui.

In a nutshell:
A wonderful dining experience with a great fusion of flavors in every dish.

In detail:
Yes, as almost everyone can attest to, the restaurant was a little hard to find. My party and I spent several unnecessary minutes roaming around the Shore Club trying to find the restaurant. When we finally found it, my initial thoughts were, "The tiled walls are a bit tacky. I feel like I'm in a Japanese bath house." However, that was pretty much my only complaint about the place.

We all got the Omakase, which is i think was an 8 course dinner. Please read Jennifer N.'s review down below because all the dishes she mentioned were the same dishes we had as well. My most favorite dish of the night was the black cod with miso. It was by far (and I'm not exaggerating one bit) the best piece of fish I've ever eaten in my life! The sweetness of the miso and the delicacy of the black cod was just heaven in my mouth. This dish deserves 5 stars itself! It is a must-have dish if you dine here.

I don't give 5 stars very often here on Yelp, but I couldn't find any flaws (except the decor) about this place. The food, service, and the attention to detail were all extraordinary. I would love to come back and dine in here again someday.

5 stars for the food.. wow. I've been to other Nobu locations, and I certainly didn't find the food inferior here compared to other locations. I had a friend with me from Japan and he made excellent recommendations. The Negi-Toro was the best sushi I had here.. it's more traditional than say the spider roll, and I found it to be incredibly fresh and tasty. My favorite dish was the Cod. It sounded totally gross, but my Japanese friend insisted on it. The honey/soy glaze they use is incredible and the fish really melts in your mouth! Yummm!

-1 star for the pretentious service. Our waiter sucked and the host staff was obnoxious. Get over yourself Nobu.

Prices are steep but well worth it. The rock shrimp is incredible, I'm drooling thinking about it. The miso cod's insane, just melts in your mouth. Every dish had the "O" factor, I just can't believe how expensive it is.

$300 later, the foodie in me is satisfied.

Nobu, 1901 Collins Avenue

Fashionable and toney, Nobu inside the Shore Club in South Beach, offers more than an opportunity to see and be seen. After a stroll around the pool, sidle up to the bar and enjoy waiting for your table with a specialty martini and people watch. Seating is intimate and the dcor is minimalist yet warm. We ordered sushi and sashimi although cooked dishes are available. The standout roll was yellowtail with jalapeo and the Toro was  "melt in your mouth" perfection. Make a reservation and be prepared to spend some $$$ for the best sushi you will ever have.

Here I am, finally writing the review of a meal I had years ago.  The meal was at Nobu and it has been my most memorable meal since.

Nobu Miami does not accept reservations for any party under 6, so since it was just the two of us, we had to wait for a table.  Typically, I would never wait for a table for more than an hour but because this was Nobu and it  was a special occasion, I did.  Fortunately, it was worth it.

I decided the best way to experience Nobu, was to order the Omakase.  The way the Omakase was set up was that you start with various light dishes that slowly crescendos to dishes with stronger flavors and then gently steps back down with dishes that cleanse the palate.

The first dish was an inch cylinder of Toro served in a bath of soy and ginger and topped with Osetra Caviar. The Toro was extremely tender and creamy only to be enhanced by the salty soy and pearly buds of caviar. Indeed, an amazing starter to entice the palate.

The next dish was a sashimi of a type of Japanese white fish served atop microgreens and accompanied with pieces of "sushi" made of different herbs wrapped up in a daikon skin, lightly seasoned with a soy yuzu dressing. It was a lovely dish with an unusual play of flavors, ranging from the pungent and slightly bitter herbs to the sweet succulence of the white fish.

The third dish consisted of very thinly sliced white fish seasoned with soy and toasted sesame and drizzled with a touch of sizzling oil to cook it... just barely. Wow, was the end result incredible. The overtone was toasty and nutty, complementing the light sweetness of the sweet fish.  Amazingly complex in its simplicity.

Black Cod Marinated in Miso, the most reknown Nobu dish, shall be credited for its beauty.  Marinated for days until the miso has deeply permeated the meat of the fish, the fish is then roasted until just cooked. Carmelized and piping hot yet tender and moist on the inside, there is just the right balance of flavors. No surprise how this became one of his signature dishes.

This next dish, consisted of strongest flavors of the evening, were in perfect harmony with each other. The most tender, juicy, sweet slices of tenderloin were accompanied by a bundle of enoki mushrooms, shitake, and asparagus, all cooked together to perfection in a light bath of soy in a sizzling hot, clay plate. The moment it was set in front of you, you knew all your senses were in for a treat.

In contrast to the strong earthy flavors of the previous dish, this plate was a display different types of raw fish/sushi, left in their pure forms... sweet, tender, and unadulterated. Eel, Salmon, Shrimp, Halibut, Mackeral, and Toro tuna...My favorite being the Toro and the Eel.

Finally, a bowl of Miso soup with littleneck clams...a comforting and light ending to a round of savory flavors.

For dessert, we were served a Bento Box.  The Bento Box was divided into 3 compartments. The first compartment (advised by the server to begin with) was a shot of sake subtley sweetened by pineapple juice and accompanied by a morsel of white chocolate filled with a luscious, creamy filling. The second compartment was a Valrhona chocolate souffle cake served with a white chocolate sauce and a small scoop of creamy sweet green tea ice cream. The final compartment consisted of daintily placed pieces of fresh tropical fruits and berries. Everything was delicious.

We were then given a glass of hot green tea to cleanse the palate, marking the end to this adventurous culinary evening.  I had an amazing meal here and I hope you all will get to experience the same.

I'm a big fan of the Nobu chain, but in all honesty, executive Chef Matsuhisa should be ashamed to have his surname on this branch. As mentioned by other reviewers, Nobu SoBE is located at the Shore Club. But, what's not brought up is that the Nobu dining room is in a dark, seemingly dank dungeon. Service is atrocious and gives the general vibe that they feel like they don't have to be friendly or knowledgable as, per SoBE custom, 20% gratuity is already added to the bill. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying 90 bucks for a Kobe entree, I expect a little more than to have it perfunctorily dropped on the table as the server skitters off to smoke a cig. The food is good, but doesn't come close to Nobu Vegas, NYC, or LA.

We spent $600 for five people and walked out drunk - but hungry. The fish was okay, nothing spectacular and we paid for the name, not the quality. It was loud, crowded and rushed. Boo to Nobu.

I will however give it an additional star for the people watching factor. I live in LA but I had more celeb sightings that night than I have in weeks here. Christian Slater with some hoochie, David Caruso - taller than expected and Pharrell Williams looking hip hop skater chic with three guys who all looked the same as he did. Not to mention all of the grade A sluts with very little clothing hanging off of their body. That was worth the price of the sake alone!

I say hit the Shore Club but skip Nobu. Boo Nobu.

AHHHH!!!!!

I should have listened to my Persian spidey senses when i walked into Nobu on a Friday night at 7:45pm and the restaurant was half empty....  I figured hey, this place is swank, hip, my bros in NYC claim its great ~ I've got to give it a shot.

Oh man - 2 hrs, $285 later my buddy and I left still hungry and not impressed.  oh god, the miso black cod appetizer was amazing - one of the best fish dishes i've had in an East Asian restaurant in my life, but everything else that we ate was down hill from there.  We're by the ocean in Miami, on a weekend but the Salmon, Amberjack and squid were old and limp.  The chu-toro and oh-toro were quite good but portions were tiiiiiiny and the rolls were just depressing - absolutely no flavor and they fell apart before you could eat them.

I wined like a baby the other day over lunch to a Taiwanese friend of mine yesterday - she told me that I was a schmuck and I should have stuck to the hot menu, because that's what they're known for.  Well damn!  We ordered a mid range carafe of sake and it was probably the worst I've every had in my life!

Somebody shoot me - a top class restaurant where a person can consistently order 10 dishes and 7 of them are the wrong thing gets 1 star in my book - even if the black cod gets me wet.

Matsuhisa - san...  they're runining your name in Miami!

Amazing place to take a hot date.  Nobu is inside a plush ShoreClub hotel next to Dinero's italian spot Ago.  Service is amazing the sushi is so delicious you dont realize you're eating raw fish.  The halipeno tuna is my favorite.  The portions are tiny and expensive.  Dinner for two without drinks was $300, well worth it though.  Whatever you do, never order beef at Nobu.  It sucks.

I wasn't impressed with Nobu at all. The room was so noisy I couldn't have a conversation, the room was so bright, and the sushi was just OK.

I won't go back to this location....

Awesome... loved the energy, bar scene, food and customer service. There's a huge bar if you decide to arrive before dinner.. food was delicious (the miso glazed cod again is perfect!) and what I like so much about Nobu is that they are consistent- I've been to the one in NYC and Bahamas and the food was equally as good (although the one in NYC is much more subdued and the tables aren't so close together).

Very pricey, but if you're in Miami you've got to check it out!

This is the best sushi that you can find anywhere.  It is very pricey here but that is because you are eating at the worlds most famous sushi chain which is 5 stars of course not to mention that fish are a rare commodity and you can just get high grade sushi anywhere.  They get only the best sushi here, not to mention sake, vegetable, etc.  To see a list of other good places to eat in the Miami Beach then you have to check out his list http://www.snaptravelp...

I have eaten at Nobu Miami over three years and over sixty (60) times at the Shore Club location. It is a place that all the celebrities and "beautiful people" visit when in Sobe. I frequent all my dinners here at the bar and have had a great time with the bar staff and have sat in the dining room only twice. You can not find better Sushi or Japanese food in Miami. It is very expensive and plan on spending at least $150.00 per person.  The atmosphere is more laid back and less upscale than all the other Nobu's. My favorites are the "New Style" fish items, "Dried Miso" and the Wagu. The pastry chef makes some great desserts also. The martinis are good and wine list is limited. No frozen drinks are available here. The bar lounge area is quite busy at night especially weekends. Please keep mind I am not a Miami regular May to September so I can't tell you how it is during those months. Another thing to keep in mind is the mix of people here has a lot to do with the Shore Club's Sky Bar next door and the Setai across the street. If you want all the action go after 9pm. Parking is valet though the hotel or you can park near the Days Inn and walk five minutes

My oh my oh my!!! I am sorry but you just cannot beat Nobu.  It is hands down in my top 3 of restaurants of all time.  The one at the Shore Club is amazing, and beautiful - I mean hello! You are in the midst of beauty just stepping into the Shore Club.  I have heard rumors that the one in Vegas tops them all. I'll check it out next time I am there.

Nobu is my favorite restaurant. I think they have the best food in Miami and a great servis. I usually eat in Nobu ones or twice a week(on friday or saturday) and i recommend to try the yelowtail jalapeno, sashimi salad(apsolutly amazing) and rock shrimp with a pink souce.
The only drawback is that sometimes it can get REALLY noisy and the tables are very close together. But i don't care.. If you wana have the best japanese food in town go to Nobu.

We called to make a reservation and left a message.  The restaurant never called back.  We called again in the early evening and the woman who answered said "we don't check voicemail; I'm not sure why it was on."  As it happens, they don't take reservations for fewer than 6 people.  We showed up around 8:30 pm on a Wednesday night.  There was a 45-minute wait for the dining room, loud from people shouting, or no wait for the tables out by the bar, loud from disco music cranked up to club levels.

Twenty minutes after we'd been seated, the waitress noticed our existence and brought over a drinks menu.  After forty minutes, she had not returned to bring a food menu or take an order for drinks, so we left and walked down the beach to a good Cuban restaurant (Oriente).
