I hit the jackpot with this library branch today--was in there for about 3 hours collecting and photocopying family history information from old high school yearbooks and publications, cemetery records, old newspaper obits and 50th anniversary articles, phone books and City Directories, etc. My geneologically-inclined father would be so proud of me, I hope. By the time I left I had exact locations of my great aunt's and great-grandparent's graves and the homes they lived in when they were alive, plus names of descendants. It was very meaningful to stand by the grave of a great-grandmother I never knew but was partially named after (I was named after my mother's two grandmothers, Mary Wyant, and Louella Davis House). This one died in the year I was born and I have a handmade quilt she made for me and barely finished before she passed away.
Big time kudo's to Nancy the librarian in the "Indiana Room" where all the great old history of Noblesville in stored. I couldn't have found as much info as I did without her expertise and helpfulness.Listed in: Back home in Indiana
