One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
My first 5 star review, and well deserved!
I have found my new go to coffee shop, and this truly is an honor for Noble Tree. As a student, I am constantly looking for a place to park myself and my books for a few hours to get some work done, and Noble Tree is THE place. Free free FREE wireless. I am in love. The reading lamps atevery table is a nice touch too. I hate trying to read in a dimly lit coffeeshop. You can really tell that the owners of Noble Tree have figured out all the angles of what makes a great coffee shop, and they are catering to every type of person who frequents these spots - students, daters, professionals, relaxers.
Coffee drinks are winners and well-made. The baristas are friendly and cool, yet unpretentious (I do prefer ceramic mugs over glass mugs). The owner is cool and always circulating chatting with customers and fixing up the place.
It is wonderfully charming with cozy little nooks on all three levels of the place. The music is usually controlled at the whim of the baristas - usually indie, folk, retro stuff, and I usually enjoy it, but when it gets to the avant garde, experimental type stuff, I usually use my own headphones. Good thing some of the floors are volume controlled. A nice touch would be to have different music selections for each floor - possibly classical on the top floor, and baristas choice on the other floor.
I have a feeling this place is going to get very popular very soon. Give them they're "People Love Us On Yelp" sticker already.
For years I've had friends rave about Noble Tree, always wanting to meet here to get work done or to just sit around drinking coffee and reading books. I can see why they were so enthusiastic.
I really love this place. I came here to meet a few people so we could sit around on our laptops and write. The coffee is good, the wi-fi is free (with purchase). What more could I ask for? There were three floors, but I didn't really get to check out the third floor. It was laid back and quiet and cozy and it wasn't crowded when I arrived at around 11:30 AM.
The people who work there are really nice. One of the servers even asked us if the music was too loud, a courtesy most coffee shops would never extend, as if they didn't care. If I wasn't engaged in a conversation for an hour and a half I could see how I could get a ton of work done.
The menu is pretty big, loaded with coffee, drinks and baked goods. I ordered a latte and a bagel and carried it to the second floor up steep stairs, nervous that I was going to spill. I found my friends at a table and was delighted to see that the place actually had surge protectors, another convenience other cafes are never nice enough to provide. One thing I noticed were the plethora of books on the shelves. I didn't get a chance to browse. Maybe next time, because I am planning to come back next week.
I am not a coffee house regular, but if I was one this would be my place. It's a huge house with friendly employees and customers. There are numerous nooks and crannies to hole up in while reading or playing on your computer.
The drink selection seems to be vast and there are always good looking sandwiches and baked goods. Maybe when I go back to grad school I will come here more often.
This coffee house is amazing, and I can't believe I never frequented it. A friend of mine from out of town actually alerted me to its existence, despite its location so close to me.
I'm not a huge coffee connoisseur, so unfortunately I can't speak too informatively about the quality of the coffee. But I do really like mochas, and have had a few at a few different places lately, and I have to say this place makes a really good one. I don't add anything (except maybe to have them put whipped cream on it) and it's always delicious. Hot is better than iced though.
As for the ambience, it's tough to beat. It's basically a big old house, with the coffee bar (and Bobtail ice cream) on the first floor, and big rooms full of tables, chairs, couches, bookcases, books, games, and quirky art on the second and third floors.
I'd recommend this as a place to come with friends or alone, for a quiet study session or not so quiet hangout time. It kind of feels like a student union, lots of college students and a lot of studying going on, both individual and group. It does seem to get quieter and more study-focussed as you travel up, and in fact the first time I went with a friend I felt like we were stared at as we looked around the second and third floors, talking and looking for a place to sit. We ended up sitting on the first floor, where less people stared. But I have to say that was a unique experience, and the other times I've been there it's been much more chill, even playing music on the previously somber second floor.
But the other times I've come it's been great! And even that first time was fine, just a little more college library quiet than I've been used to recently.
Definitely check this place out if you live nearby, don't let the fact that it's hidden back there between two bars keep you away!
With this early onset on winter, there's nothing better than to curl up with a hot cup of coffee & a book, in your favorite chair with a nice window view to distract you. Since I don't have any of this in my place, I go to Noble Tree. I enjoy the fact that this is a grand old house, complete with winding staircases, rickety floorboards and drafty (let's be real) windows. It makes me feel as though I am in a college dormitory, rather than a coffee shop. It's a nice feeling.
Yes, the prices are relatively steep. Yes, the music on the lower levels sometimes makes me raise my eyebrow and roll my eyes. But, I just give a patented side-eye and go upstairs. As others have said before, the higher you travel, the quieter it is. Hmm, look at me, being all poetic and stuff. Noble Tree just inspired me to drop some lyrical genius. Watch out, Common.
This is a decent coffee house. It definitely has some personality to it. I like the coffee...mmmm metropolis. I like the seating with the big tables....ahhhh. I dont like the over priced old sandwiches in the case...YUCK ($6.50 for a tuna on wheat, or turkey on wheat...no condiments, ie mustard, salt, pepper....). I'd rather go to Subway...I know right.
I have been here to study a couple of times and really, it does the job. However, if I am here for a long period of time studying...there is like nothing good to eat. I like it because its pretty quiet, most of the time except when you get 18 year olds running around playing scrabble and talking about how hot Jacob is in their math class. It was promising but still, not my favorite spot. Plus, the temperature is always whatever it is outside...if its cold outside...its cold inside, if its hot outside, its hot in this place. The bathrooms kind of gross me out, I dont really know why. Overall, not a terrible place but not the best either.
What a refreshing change of pace from depressing cookie cutter coffee shops! Noble Tree gets it. They serve great coffee, have free Wi-Fi, and three levels of warmly decorated nooks and crannies for you to get your study on...your Internet on...your drink on!
The baristas are cute and friendly, and can totally put those nice finishing fall touches on your Chai Latte (leaf patterns on top) that make you actually appreciate the cold fall weather! Just ask for Wi-Fi when you order and they'll give you a little slip with the code for 90 mins., and they are generous with them.
This place feels like an old house in the middle of the country in New England. You know, the kind that a young family inherits from a relative they never met, so they drive up from New York and the wife starts decorating, the father starts chopping wood, the little boy starts exploring and finds all the ghosts! Yeah! Except at Noble Tree the decorating wife wins!
There are nice art touches everywhere! Head up one of the steep staircases and find a quiet spot to study alone or with your friends. People are very respectful of the quiet but there weren't any shushers when the random cell phone went off. Noble Tree gets the mix of coffee-house-as-library and coffee-house as a place-to-meet-and chat, perfectly. Noble Tree is coffee house perfection!
All of the baristas at Noble Tree have kick-ass skills (and are really friendly too)!!! My favorite is the dude with the glasses...He makes me the best soy latte I've had in my life (if you have time it's best to enjoy the coffee there...in a ceramic mug).
For the best coffee drinks, delicious scones (the lemon frosting ones are too good...) and a great seating area definitely check out Noble Tree.
i have been here twice in the last couple of weeks. I am a third year law student and thus so tired of studying in the library. I was looking for some place new to study. Although I don't think I could consistently study here because it's not very quiet, I liked it a lot.
It seems like the higher the floor (there are three), the quieter it gets - so that is something to keep in mind. People are generally very quiet, but the music is sort of loud and distracting (although they play good music).
The chai tea is delicious. A lot of places use powdered chai, which is never very good. Noble Tree definitely does not use powdered chai - whatever they use is very good. The quiche is also quite good.
If you can study with a bit of ambient noise, I would definitely suggest this place. It is totally acceptable to just camp out all day and everyone is respectful of your studying. They have free wireless internet (with purchase) and plenty of room to spread out.
What else can I write about Noble Tree that hasn't already been written... If you need to get comfy, buckle down and get some serious work done, Noble Tree is the place to do it.
Comfy atmosphere? CHECK!
Place to plug in the laptop? CHECK!
Free wifi? CHECK!
Delicious caffeinated bevvies? CHECK!
I love this place... Check it out!
When you gotta get homework done in the summer, and you need WiFi - nothing can beat sitting out on Noble Tree's patio with an umbrella with your trusty laptop and iced green tea latte. And nice people that will share the lone umbrella'ed table so you can see your 'puter screen.
Three cheers to responsibility not being stuck inside on a beautiful day!
Hip, hip, Hooray for Noble Tree!
*Edit - minus 1 star for the staff smoking on the patio. Ew. (yes, I'm aware that I'm a yelp cliche)
This place reminds me a lot of the coffee houses of the Pacific North West. The three floors each have their own personalities, and I'm sure anyone could walk in and find a place to sit down with a tasty latte because the place is huge.
The staff is friendly and down to each and all know about what their selling. Great music is always on tap here. One of the best secrets (if you want to call it that) is their arcade machine in the back. I've spent hours playing it while waiting for someone to get out of the bathroom, yet still no high score.
I love this place!!!! Chai latte and free wifi? what more could any lincoln parker want?!
I love sitting on the third floor. It always seems empty, but a good place to use the free wifi while also looking out at the Clark Street activities below!
still digging noble tree coffee for the environment. bonus: today the wifi card was for 4 hours, which is better than the old system of two 90 minute cards with your first purchase. not only is 4 hours more than 3 hours, but getting kicked off every hour and a half was really messing with my flow. I am hoping that the new 4 hour cards are here to stay.
also, the foam on my latte this morning was beautiful, if a little bitter.

Love it, LOVE it, LOVE IT! Noble Tree is a destination I turn to often when I feel the need to sip a cup of coffee and type on my Apple like an artiste! I have found their coffee to be brewed to perfection and the bakery selection to be quite good. I also love that this place has three floors. If you're looking for a coffee spot, this is a noble choice.
I'm so glad that real coffee houses still exist.
The space is comfortable, the music is very decent sometimes and the wifi is free.
I like to sit on the second floor in front of the window. Occasionally I gaze at the suckers across the street at caribou. That place is culturally relevant I guess but it says nothing to me about my city or my neighborhood.
The staff at Noble Tree acts sufficiently put upon to make me my cup of coffee. I dig it. I think that downright refusal would be even more hip but I understand why that wouldn't work. A place like this has bills to pay, I have no doubt.
This is home base for me!
Very homelike atmosphere, especially accommodating for recent college town-transplants.
Much like a college house or a cool English professor's, Noble Tree offers a productive and inspiring ambiance.
Recently the new wireless sign up system got very dodgy for my laptop so unfortunately I couldn't come when I really need to go online.
Seems that folks use the space to work together while starting a business or working away from office.
This place is adorable. Every time I walk through the door it makes me realize that I don't read as much as I should. If it's not busy, this place is a bookworm's paradise.
The coffee is always good, the baristas are always friendly, and the place is just comfy as all hell. I haven't tried any of the food and I don't really care to but I'm sure it's out of this world as well.
Students get a discount with their ID and there's free WiFi for everyone.
If this place was anywhere near my apartment I would go there all the time. Unfortunately, as there is no parking and it takes 45 minutes on a series of buses for me to get there, I'll probably never go back. This makes me sad.
I like the vibe here. The one time I went the music selection was stellar - Spoon when I got there and Tom Petty when I left. I didn't try the coffee but the hot cocoa was made with Ghirardelli chocolate, not that fake cheap generic garbage, so I wholeheartedly appreciate that. They also sell delicious pies - who doesn't love pie? The staff was super friendly and the space just made me want to curl up and take a nap or read a book, depending. I really wish it were more convenient for me to make a repeat visit.
Noble Tree, open another branch in Wicker Park, eh?
Dearest Noble Tree,
I understand that "my people" are still talking to "your people" about the legal parameters of my lease agreement. Before any drafts are finalized, may I interject? (Rhetorical.)
Before the start of my lease, I do have two minor stipulations for business improvement. But first, I (re)commend you on your:
1. Bomb baristas with accommodating and helpful attitudes. Their recommendation for a "get better" tea was appreciated.
2. Decor choices. They continue to delight me. Good work.
-------------------------------------------------- ---------
On to constructive feedback:
a. If you could either make (or partner locally) to provide tasty soups, I would increase my patronage/time spent at your establishment by 50%. I could assist you in this endeavor upon my arrival.
b. Please provide lemon or lemon juice. It is an excellent addition to tea and life. As are salt & pepper.
Please accept both my unsolicited feedback and tenant contract.
If you cannot accommodate my living requests. Please consider the Andersonville/Edgewater area for your next establishment.
My best,
Melanie K.

Dear Noble Tree,
I will be moving in March 1st.
I left my lease in the tip jar along with my… Read more »
A dream come true, so much so that I will take a bus from downtown just to spend a couple hours studying here.
Look no further for your ideal study spot. Noble Tree has:
- very generous servings of amazing Metropolis coffee
- three stories (yes, three stories!) of seating space
- massive tables and comfy chairs
- yummy hoosier mama pie for the sugar rush or molly's cupcakes as a neighbor a block or so away
- neat crafty stuff on the walls and shelves to catch your eye
- books for the reading
- board games for the playing (i am the scrabble champ)
- a clean bathroom (and trust me, i am picky)
- FREE WIFI OH YEAH
- late hours (until 11 pm on weekdays)
- a big sign outside that says COFFEE that calls to my sad and tired soul
- awesome staff that won't rush you away and will always play excellent music. and i mean REALLY good indiepop/alt.
- a plethora of surge protectors and extension cords, so no fighting for the electrical outlets.
But oh no, Noble Tree does not have--
- handicap access (at least none that I can see)
- a working blender (the menu says granita, you are SOL)
- a chatting, social kind of vibe. people don't come here to hang out, meet friends, etc. they come here to study. so if you want to come here with someone for some reminiscing and laughter, be prepared to either confine yourself to the ground floor where you are covered by the whirr of espresso grinders, or be stared at by the law students hard at work.
This place is beautiful, I LOVE IT. It is arraigned perfectly for study. It kind of like thrift store in a three floor brownstone. As a graduate student at University of Chicago, I am always looking for new places to get a few hours of reading or writing in and this place is interesting enough to make you want to be there but not so much that you aren't distracted. The mugs are HUGE and they have great herbal teas (only three flavors, but still), I couldn't have designed a more appropriate place to study. All this said, DEPAUL UNDERGRADS RUIN THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. loud, loud, loud, pda's on the cute little couches. It always takes everything in me not to throw those annoying, silly little twerps out the window. If it wasn't for this, I would give the place 5 stars, if you study with music, you'll be fine if not, good luck (early morning is better if you want some quiet). I do fault the business for this because they advertise this place as a place to study. If they are going to let the twerps in, they should have one or two levels be for those who want to talk and the top level be for those who actually do want to study in silence
I went here last Thursday in anticipation of the Yelp event on Saturday. What a great space! Three floors of relaxed atmosphere. The atmosphere was pretty studious, which while not unexpected, was comforting. I met a friend here to go over some artwork and business stuff and it worked out really well. You could have a normal conversation without feeling like you were eavesdropped upon. And no one seemed agitated that we were using normal voices.
The coffee I had was good, but the menu looked a little limited. I am probably wrong about that, but that was my quick impression.
They have wifi for an hour and a half, but you can find a signal from other businesses in the area that are free and clear.
I love this place. It's the idyllic coffee shop. And it has great chai and pie. (Har har, it rhymes.)
Noble Tree is a nice little place, that isn't pretentious like most other places in the city. The atmosphere is cozy and eclectic, suiting anyone from students looking for a place to study to casual walk-ins looking for a good cup o' joe.
Coffee is good, but inconsistent from cup to cup. I can get the same order twice, but it either comes out too strong or not strong enough. If you are an adventurous coffee drinker, and do not prefer the formulaic espresso drinks at the local Starbucks down the street, this place is for you!
Parking can be an issue, but it usually is in this area. Good experience overall. I'd like to come back and try the pies!
I can't get anything done at home anymore. There are too many distractions and I'm way too ADD to put up a fight. Going to a coffee shop usually doesn't help either because then I'm distracted by the constant stream of customers coming and going.
Noble Tree's second and third floors have solved this problem for me. They take people-watching out of the coffee shop experience, and they really let me settle in and get stuff done. Plus I feel like I'm at my parent's house, what with all the brass lamps and the tall armchairs.
I love the natural light the windows afford during the day, too. It's enough to make the whole place really cheerful without turning a laptop screen into a blurry glare. There are outlets (and wi-fi networks) a-plenty for the laptop-inclined, as well.
Oh, and the coffee is pretty good, too.
I like it so much I will walk here from home. This puts me another 20 minute walk from downtown, so it's almost perfect.
The large americano's pricey, but the ginger peach tea, free wifi, ample seating (indoors and out), immaculate restroom, and cozy atmosphere more than compensate for it.
Kind of like a leaning tower of coffeehouse that you have to scale by narrow and then more narrow stairway to find your own perfect spot.
It's a big old three story building filled with tables and comfy chairs and shelves of randomly lovely books. The bottom floor has a comfy fire place going in the coldtime and a small counter for coffee and teaish drinks that come in real mugs and a fairly small selection of things to nosh on - but decent enough things, like chocolate chess pie and honey mustard turkey sandwich. Also lots of interesting local and eclectic art all over the walls.
The vibe is different on each of the three levels. One the first: Bustling. Conversations, laughter, good music playing over the speakers not quietly. The second floor is a mixed bag and has a lot of people having intensely profound or wannabe profound conversations about profoundish shit. The third floor is full of a studious looking sort with laptops and books being super quiet, like even more so than at the library. And you won't be able to hear any of the music from downstairs - it's worth taking a look, because it's a cool building, but people will whip their necks around to give you a shush lookie face.
It really offers everything almost anyone is looking for in a coffeehouse. Except probably what a foodie would be looking for - more stuff to chose from. That chocolate pie was real nice like though.
I can appreciate what Noble Tree is trying to do, however, it is not really for me--I am well beyond my college years. It is definitely a cozy place to go for some coffee & studying/work. It has that funky vibe to it, that can only be attributed to the fact that it is so close to Depaul university & located right in the heart of Lincoln Park. Love the fact that it has mismatched furniture, 3 levels (this place is HUMONGOUS!), books to grab off the shelves, and games to play.
Each level in Noble Tree has its own vibe & for me it goes as follows:
1st--great place to meet people for casual conversation. If you can get a spot in the front by the big window--people watching would be the order of the day.
2nd level--good for study groups or book clubs.
3rd level--good for snuggling up with a good book, or getting snuggly with your S.O. It has a much quieter vibe to it.
If you can get up to the 3rd floor & not be winded--good on ya. It is worth the trek.
The coffee is okay and the prices are decent, but that is really not enough to temp me to return. Glad I tried it, but as it is nowhere near where I live & parking can be a pain, I will not travel out of my way to go. If I am in the neighborhood, I will give it another shot.
What a great coffee house. I wish it had been around when my fiance (then bf) lived two doors down from it and I spent a lot of time on this stretch of Clark.
We were here for the Yelp game night event last weekend (which was so much fun, thanks Colleen C!) and loved it, so when we found ourselves early to a dinner reservation down the street, we decided to park it at Noble Tree for an hour and relax. The barista was so nice, and so pleased that we had returned after the Elite event. I had an herbal tea - fantastic selection, and I love how they serve it in a big beer mug. We shared a couple of the cookies, and they were deeeelish (I'm beginning to think any pastry that crosses the threshold here is to die for).
The atmosphere is what really makes this place. It is the epitome of cozy. Sink yourself into one of their couches and you may never get up. Great quirky wall decor. Free wifi, so lots of people were studying, and the place was very quiet and peaceful (seems like if you want to chat, you should stick to the first floor).
I don't get to Lincoln Park too often anymore, but who knows, I may start making special trips just to hang at Noble Tree!
this place has decent coffee. its hard for me to believe that the chicago yelpers have given this place a 4.5 stars while intelligentsia is sitting at 4.
my buddy lives a couple blocks from here, so it was an easy go-to coffee spot. apparently its locally-owned. if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a decent latte, stop here. it's much better than starbucks.
Noble Tree is great! I frequent this joint 2-4 times a week, not as much as many of the NT regulars, but i've gone every week since July. The vibe in this place is great. Its cozy, warm, and inviting. You can sit in here all day and sip your drink and no one bothers you. The Baristas are great as well, always friendly and genuine. I love that Neil Young is always playing too. This is a great place to sit down and relax with some coffee and Mr. Young.
Oh, and the Time Pilot game in the back gets some major points for this place too!
I have trouble finding places to study. The library isn't lively enough, some coffee shops get too crowded, my apartment is just too distracting, etc. etc. I came here last week, came the next day, and fell in love.
Granted, it was St. Paddy's weekend, it was great to people-watch outside the window, but at the same time enjoy the peacefulness within. The people here are cool, and I found some great pie for Pi Day. :)
Oh, and did I mention free WiFi? I really don't think it can get any better. Think about a fantastic place to study that's surrounded by great eateries at the same time. Get tired of studying? Take a break, walk around, and come back.
Coffeehouses come in all shapes and sizes. Noble Tree is definitely one of the bigger coffeehouses full of character. It's probably the most spacious one I've been in. When you walk in, you're greeted by the coffee bar which is a small nook compared to the rest of the place. Yet it's is the brain of the place supplying coffee to its many patrons. The baristas are nice and helpful. I had a tasty green tea latte. The rest of the coffeehouse consists of two floors of high back chairs, tables, and desks. Even without all of the studious people, it has an academic feel where you could imagine uproarious debates about philosphy and history taking place.
Finding a knitting spot was a little difficult since it was packed with DePaul students studying for finals. After climbing the stairs of two floors, space was found. I spent my afternoon sitting in a high back plaid upholstered chair surrounded by fellow knitters. My main complaint about the Noble Tree is the weak lighting. There wasn't a lot of lighting to focus on each stitch as it got darker. I wondered how the students managed to study with such little lighting and other distractions. Overall, I had a lovely experience here.
After reading reviews of this cute cafe on Yelp, I was determined to make it up there on my day off to catch up on work. As I walked the ten blocks I was getting more & more excited. I was trying to imagine what Noble Tree would look & be like. Modern? Sterile? Comfy? Quiet? Once I entered the lovely Noble Tree Cafe I realized I wouldn't be able to think up such a lovely place.
The cafe is three stories tall with lots of comfy chairs, tables, outlets (a HUGE plus in my book), good coffee & tea, and sweet treats. Unfortunately the day I arrived they were accepting cash only & I was too lazy to go to an ATM to get anything more than an Earl Gray with cream. As I ventured up to the 2nd floor I was taken aback by the almost silent environment, which was complimented by all sorts of chairs, tables, and sofas. I found myself a little table in the corner, plugged in my laptop, turned on some jazz and that is when I decided I was in love.
I will most definitely be back, but in the winter I won't walk those ten blocks. Thank god for the #22 & #36 bus or else I'd have to go through Noble Tree withdrawl in the winter. This is a great place to come get work done, but not one to socialize or catch up with friends.
Honestly, this place is all about the atmosphere. I had a latte from here and I only remember it being strong but not wonderful. I was also disappointed at the small selection of munchies. So, for a coffeehouse, it's just alright. But for a place to HAVE the coffee and/or to study, chat (quietly), play board games, or peruse used books, it's absolutely wonderful.
I love that it's a charming house-turned-coffeeshop, and I love the random decorations, the myriad seating, the three floors, and the creaky steps (though this can get a bit annoying if you're intent on studying). It can also get quite crowded-- but if you're lucky enough to snag a seat, I highly recommend staying for awhile and absorbing all the great intellectual and creative energy.
This is my most favorite coffeehouse in Chicago! (I live on the Northside - so, of course I'd find something on the Northside).
When I first moved to Chicago, I lived in Lincoln Park, and I was *dying* to find a coffeehouse serving good coffee. (just a note on the side, I *hate* Starbucks). So - I Yelped it (of course) - and stumbled upon Noble Tree. I gave it a try - and been very pleased with it. Now, I've been living here for 8 months -and I've moved even further North, but Noble Tree is still my #1 coffee place.
Nothing beats the ambiance and the coffee! They have 3 floors of just couches upon couches and books upon books - with free wi-fi, too! Sooo .. relaxing! Love the music - love the baristas - love the pies and muffins!! Most of all .. LOVE the coffee!! They use Metropolis coffee beans - which, you can also purchase from them. They also cost less than Starbucks or any other chain-coffeehouses. There!
EDIT: I was there for Fat Tuesday (yep -coffee and Paczki really go together!! ^^) - and just found out that they have stand-up comics every Tuesday!! I think they start around 7:30ish (PM, of course) .. I couldn't stay that long last time -but I certainly will soon! They always have it on the 3rd floor, btw.
Super cute place. I feel like I'm in some sort of Meg Ryan movie (before her face got weird) it's got a really cool retro look. The coffee is really great too, and reasonably priced. I sat for over an hour just reading and people watching. While the place isn't frequented by as many crazies as Intelligentsia , and therefore being fewer oddities less interesting to observe, it isn't nearly as crowded either. There's an awesome long couch on the first floor to sprawl out on. Friendly staff too.
Big thumbs up to this place. I heard so many good things about it and I have been dying to get my chance to be in this area. I finally received my chance where I had a little networking meet-up for some coffee with a couple of people.
I would have to agree with everyone about the environment here. It is a very cozy spot to hang out. It is very quiet and relaxing and it would be easy to bring some work or just chill out after a very hectic day.
The staff here was great: very friendly and helpful. I only ordered an iced coffee but it was very tasty and refreshing. I only hung out on the first floor but I plan to venture upstairs on my next visit.
It's like a warm, friendly 3-story Lincoln Park bed & breakfast - without the bed and with better hot cocoa.
What a lovely space on each level, beginning with first floor fireplace - and not the Amish electric kind as seen on TV - followed by two levels of comfort created by couches, cozy table settings and wonderful coffee selections. Nice dessert dishes too.
Can't think of the last time I enjoyed a vinegar/ chess pie. Come to think of it, I can. Never.
A little quiet for my taste. But if I was studying for the bar exam but I wanted to be sort of, semi-social. This would be the place.
