7 reviews for Nizario's Pizza
I pumped up that Nizario's opened in North Beach. It's a nice alternative to North Beach Pizza.
5 stars for my delivery order tonight. Service over the phone was great, food was delivered promptly (30 mins on a Sat night), and the pizza was fantastic - great crust, cheese and toppings.
If you desire the absolute worst pizza in North Beach in the worst atmosphere with the worst customer service at filthy tables this is the place for you. I went here on a Monday night and ordered a combination slice. I understand that it would be cold but this is why it should be put in the oven for a minute. No sooner then did I pay for my slice was my pizza given to me. I found a seat near the back of the restaurant but no sooner than did I sit down then did I have to go back to the register where they keep a close eye on the napkins that they give out so that I may clean off my table. Further more there were only one set of cheese and peppershakers in the entire restaurant that I had to hunt down.
I tried enjoying my cold slice of pizza but all they had to watch on the TV was Spanish soap operas. This is a Pizza parlor on Monday night, where is the game? Also there was a sign on the women's restroom that said out of order, sorry ladies. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I'll never go back. $4.00 for the slice.
They're ok... just that. My experience was a decent slice for the price. The crust was very toasty, but was mostly that. A doughy, toasty thick big piece of crust with very little fixin's on it.
I really didn't get a lot of sauce or cheese on it, nor was there a lot of meat and other stuff. Just enough to go around the pie when it was made, for appearances. What was there was pretty flavorful though.
Very pleasant staff, great location and the bridge and tunnel crowd should keep them in business for quite some time. Much better offering than the prior and defunct chicken joint that floundered here previously.
3.5 stars.
Conveniently located on the edge of Chinatown, North Beach and Broadway Nizario's third San Francisco location offers tasty pizza slices for those times when you just want to grab a seat somewhere and have a quick bite. This corner stop just steps from the City Lights bookstore on Columbus Avenue features a nice roomy dining room, a big television projecting some of your favorite prime time programs and most importantly quality, fresh-made pizza that you can order by the whole or by the slice.
The staff is very friendly. I just happened to be in the neighborhood about a week after the restaurant had opened and decided to drop in for a slice and a soft drink. I had a combo slice with pepperoni, salami and mushrooms. The medium crust pizza was nice and chewy with a nice crispy bottom. The sauce wasn't very distinct however. There was an average amount of cheese, but the toppings were piled high. All in all it was a pretty satisfying snack for under five bucks. I know I'll be back!
I moved to San Francisco just over a year ago and since then, there have been three different food spots occupying this busy corner of Broadway and Columbus. First chicken, then Mexican, and now pizza. I hope Nizario's is here to stay!
It's a local chain, with other locations in the Castro and the Richmond district. Location is convenient and open until 2 am seven days a week. Decor is basic, but clean and comfortable with seating in the back. Guys working the counter were super friendly, fast, and efficient.
But most importantly - the pizza...it's solid! As a New Yorker, I have high standards for pizza and this is in the top 5 slices I've had in SF. Crust is fairly thick and bubbly with a light dusting of cornmeal at the bottom, with a nice ratio of sauce to cheese to crust. I liked it! I think this will be my new go-to spot for a quick bite on the way home from work. Yum...
Yum!! I got a slice of their pesto and it was delicious! The dough is kind of thick, perfectly crispy on the bottom and soft and fluffy in the middle. It's the kind of crispy that remains crispy no matter how slow you eat too. The only thing I would change is that next time I will order a freshly cooked large pizza. Can't wait!!
pizza is good. a little on the thick side, but its ok. perfect for late night eating and theres no line. easy, convenient, and cheap.
