I second all of the reviews here. Finally a design guitar shop in Harvard Square. Great, unique stuff - including hand-made effects pedals from a local guitarist.
These guys take a lot of pride in their shop, and it shows. -

Do not deal with these people through eBay, where their member/seller name is "thatnewsound" or online. Their customer service is abysmal and they're either really disorganized or dishonest: perhaps a little of both. Check their eBay feedback and it's apparent that they screw people over from time to time either by taking forever to complete an order(What happened to me), not following through altogether, or misrepresenting what they're selling. The guy I dealt with Jonathan Newman(I don't think he was a head honcho, just a sales guy)was cordial enough but not so good with the email responses e.g. perhaps responding once for every three emails I sent him. But I really had the feeling that it was the higher ups, the Chiefs/owners and not the the Indians, who set the tone for this questionable outfit.
My experience with them involved an eBay pre-buy for a Danelectro '63 Baritone re-issue...$349.99 plus $19.99 for shipping. I placed my order on eBay at the end of February with the Danelectros due to arrive sometime in May. I sent off a $125 down payment/deposit almost immediately in the form of a postal money order. I never rcvd any email confirmation of this or balance due email etc. In April I sent off the balance and again never got an actual confirmation from them. I got one mass email from them letting everyoneknow the Danelectros weren't arriving until June. then I got an email telling me the order was in but there weren't enough redburst models to go around and was asked if I would I take a one black instead with a nice cord and strap thrown in. I declined their offer as I didn't like the appearance of the black models. I didn't get a reply. I wrote them again a couple of times later and received no response to any of my queries. I called the store and left messages
I finally did get my guitar but it took forever with way too much correspondence/work on my part. I will avoid them in the future -

They are friendly and new and have a brand or two I haven't seen in a while. Example being Orange. Haven't seen an Orange Amp since basement shows in New Brunswick, NJ.

A great local store that provides unique brands and a knowledgable staff- quite unlike Guitar Satan (Center). I really dig their DiPinto line- they have an eye for which styles are cool. Also, they have my favorite guitar picks in the whole world...which I won't mention what they are- 'cause you'll want them, and they are hard to find. Sorry.

Am I missing something? Their website listed percussion, which is why I stopped in, yet their store doesn't have anything remotely percussive (unless you plan on smashing a guitar or amp). I'm sure it's a perfectly lovely (albeit teeny) shop if you're looking for a guitar or guitar-related accessory.

I don't know about the actual store...but the online store was horrible. I ordered a Seagull S6 acoustic guitar online and had not recieved it in over a month. Curious as to why, I called them and they said that they sold their last S6 online on eBay right before I made my purchase and that the guitar would be back in stock in another couple of weeks. I decided fine. Another couple of weeks rolled around and still no word of shipping. I called every week from then on and each time the representative said it would come in the next week. Eventually, I decided to cancel my order and request a refund. I'm not sure what is wrong, but the refund didn't go through. I have continuously tried to contact them by e-mail and by phone about this, but no one has answered my e-mails or my phone calls. It has now been over half a year and needless to say I'm very angry and not sure what my next step should be. This was no $10 order. It is $400 that I am missing. If anyone from the store reads this, please contact me.
