Nicol's Hair Studio

BEST IN THE GAME! When I came to Nicol almost 10 years ago, I was simply amazed by her technical skill & knowledge, strive for perfectionism and friendly nature. Since then, I haven't gone anywhere else. Highly recommend going to Nicol!

I've been going to Liz so long that it would be embarrassing - if she weren't so good. That woman knows how to color and cut. I think of her as a friend as well as my hairdresser, and I love that she's moved off crowded Abbot Kinney and is now at Nicol's. It's a good group of stylists and the place has a very nice vibe. An added plus is the easy parking, and you can pick up a few things at Gelson's afterward.

I've come here three times over the years, and each time it has been a pleasant experience. The owner and the staff that I have met are all professional and charming, and make sure that you will love the hairstyle they give you.

The last time I came here, the woman cutting my hair offered to do some minimal makeup on me for free. She was a bit nervous (a junior stylist or maybe a new employee?), but I loved the cut she did, as did everyone I came across in the following days.

Prices are affordable, and the salon is clean and bright. They also do makeup for events in addition to hair styling and coloring. Parking is free in the giant parking lot for the shopping center. I will definitely be returning for future cuts and coloring.

DO NOT GO TO FAYE!!!! I went in using a Groupon for a full highlights plus a cut and blow dry. I walked out with my hair DARKER than before and my bangs are a complete disaster! She totally fucked up my hair! I'm livid!!!! Stay the fuck away!!!!

Mindy is the best! The salon is neat, clean, and there is lots of free parking. I left a happy customer.

Because I live only 2 short blocks from the shopping center where Nicol has her hair studio, I had seen it many times, but because I already had a tried and true hair dresser, never ventured inside.

Last year, however, my hairdresser announced that she was moving. I have thin frizzy hair that needs special care, so I was anxious to find someone else who came highly recommended. Around that time I was at my eye doctor's office. I had always love his receptionist's hair color and cut and asked her who her stylist was. That's how I got to Nicol.

Nicol is kind, considerate and definitely skilled in all aspects of hair dressing. The other day she not only colored my roots and gave me a stylish cut, but also applied a deep conditioner at no extra charge. When I left, I felt great, and when I got home, my husband immediately commented on how beautiful I looked. : )

OK- I may have had my 20 year anniversary of coming to Nicol's already. I started coming before I got married 17 years ago. I have big hair and a lot of it. Nicol has always found a way to work with it and leaves me feeling like a beauty queen/girl next door- fresh and spunky, with energy when I leave.

I've seen her magical talent with all of her customers- male or female, but mostly the latter.
We may come in tired or bedraggled a bit, but we go out feeling like a million bucks!

Nicol knows hair, our personality and hair maintenance type, what color works for us and even shares makeup tips with her Aveda line in her studio. She truly has become a friend over the years and is a lovely person as well as a talented artist when it comes to helping us project our radiant selves.

Maggie and Anna in the studio also have great energy. They do Brazilian Blowouts, color, cut and style too. I am grateful to a co-worker who walked by my office way back when with a cut that I liked. I asked her where she got it and voila...my relationship with Nicol began! When I reached a stage that I couuld afford to stop doing home-kit highlights, I was glad for the difference a professional could apply, along with a little pampering too!

I was a little nervous going here because all I ever see is how rude salons are to groupon users, but I bought a groupon and decided to try it out. I'm super glad I did. My hair was in a pretty embarrassing state going in (it hadn't been cut in forever), but I looked great coming out. Maggie cut my hair and she did a wonderful job. She also did a scalp treatment and a deep conditioning treatment. The whole time she explained why she was doing what she was doing and was super nice. When I was done she gave me a 40% off card for next time. Even though it was an Aveda salon she didn't push products on me like some salons do.

I will definitely go back, even without the discounts this is a great salon.

I have been going to Nicol's for over 16 years. She is very prompt and super courteous. I am a guy in a woman's salon but I never feel out of place.
I highly recommend Nicol. She definitely will take a genuine interest in you.

Rachael is a dream!!!  She is so sweet and made my hair beautiful!  She's fun, friendly, and down to earth.  She offered me a drink of my choice and gave me gorgeous blonde highlights.  Even the scalp massage was super relaxing and felt great.  Definitely a happy client and will return to her for my hair needs and wants.
