I love this place.  Blockbuster, and all the others are pure crap to the selection that you will find here.

Who needs flashy displays of the most up  to date crap movie when you have everything you need on the shelves.

Hard to find movies are almost guaranteed to be here.

I could see that some of the staff is less than helpful, but I have met a few of the good guys here. And I can see why some of them would become jaded over time, they seem to have been working there since the dawn of the VHS.

The overall feeling of the place is that it is trendy/cool/ anti establishment, but overall true to the customers.

New discovery: come here during the day to avoid the troglodyte night shift staff.  The day time folks are pleasant and helpful.

I like everything about this place..including the big stinky dog that sleeps behind the desk. While I tend to instant queue most things on Netflix these days, Nicollet Village Video rocks for renting TV series. 4 DVDs 4 Days 5 bucks. Cant really go wrong. I took advantage of said deal last winter and got my Twin Peaks and Six Feet Under on.

If you're looking for MOVIES----This is the BEST place!!!!!!  If you're looking for a new bestfriend----try facebook.
It's true, the staff isn't the friendliest, as they are known for their service without a smile.  This doesn't bother me, as I don't have the desire to socialize while I rent.
Their selection is like no other!  I have been known to roam the isles for over an hour, seriously.  I'm amazed how this store gets over 100 movies a WEEK and is able to offer the deal:  4 movies 4 days $5.  That's insane!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store!!

I love Village Video for the amazing selection and the 4 movies for 4 days for $5, though that is a trap because I have a problem returning things on time and then accrue tons of late fees, though that's another story. I am not a fan of the Village because 9 times out of 10 the staff are not helpful, pretty much ignore you until you get to the register and even then they might look up to mumble something. I can get past that though because they have awesome movies.

Village Video has been the best video store for a very long time.  They have remained the best in selection through several revisions in video technology and I don't think this will be changing any time soon.

If they don't have it or have access to it, you will likely have to find a friend or someone thousands of miles away to send it to you.

The workers are notoriously unhelpful.  The organization can seem a bit less than thought out.  Its has a dirty feel to it, due to the owner smoking in the building and the porn video room.  But this is by far the best video store in minneapolis.  HUGE HUGE selection, which is mostly DVD these days.  Lots of foreign and hard to find stuff.  Plus nearly all of the videos there are 4 for 4 days for $5!  Seriously, it was amazing to live only three blocks away from here.
