I think Kristen C. and I must've gone on the same day.

The place was ABSOLUTE chaos. I took my little brother here one day. It was quite a drive from Lewisville.

And it's possible that I spend more in gas than on games. I couldn't believe how cheap it really was. But there were several games there that didn't work and alot of our nickels were stolen.

I think the biggest turn-off was the swarm of kids there. It really was nuts. And I understand the attraction...but maybe there's a better way of organizing a slew of children? Maybe not.

Looking for something to do with the kids on a rainy afternoon and don't want to spend much money?  Then Nickel Mania is an option.  The name itself is a little misleading or maybe I just didn't understand the concept.  I figured all the games were a nickel.  Only one game was a nickel. The rest were at least 3 if not 4 nickels.  But I guess I shouldn't really quarrel over 15 cents.   Also know that you must pay an 'admittance fee' as well.  Still, I think we got out of there for about $8.00 which is better than going to Chuck E. Cheese's or Main Event or someother location with plastic cards and tokens.  At least these were real nickels that you could just take home and throw  in your change jar if you didn't spend them all.  And all the games worked so that was a plus.
Typical games that appeal to everyone such as Galaga, Skee Ball, Air Hockey, Racing Games, etc were well spaced out so it didn't seem like you were having to fight through a crowd .  They even had some smaller 'rides' for the young kids.
You could order pizza as well and there were several picnic tables at the front for eating.  We came after lunchtime so we didn't sample the pizza.
My main issue with our visit today was that we seemed to have picked  'daycare field trip day'. And we must have arrived just as most of these kids had spent their last nickel because several kids, and when I say several I mean a mob followed my 6 year old around trying to 'help' her with the games.  My 4 year old was on a small helicoper ride and 3 kids tried to hang on to the back tail.  2 kids walked up to me just expecting me to hand them money.  I don't know how many times I had to say  'BACK OFF!' in one hour.
My kids didn't know the difference and had a lot of fun with their 'new friends'.  They must have even started an entire air hockey tournament  because how else would you explain the fact that my kids didn't even get to finish the game they paid for.  We walked out with a lollipop and 2 tootsie rolls after spending our tickets at the front counter so all was good.
I guess you can't fault the management for the clientele, but you might want to call and find out if it's field trip day before you go.
