This Nick & Jake's is my boss and her family's favorite restaurant - they live in Parkville and its "the place" where everybody goes and runs into friends and neighbors.  I certainly got that friendly, small town feeling at this place and that's a definite good thing.

Nice ambiance and decor, though nothing memorable - the place is pretty big too.  I was surprised, for a family, restaurant at the outfits the hostesses wore.  Not over the top slutty or anything, but not the more traditional button down/polo shirt I would have expected.

Our server was perfect - friendly and helpful without making it awkward by talking way too much.  They have both of my favorite beers (Newcastle and Shiner Bock) so any restaurant that does that gets points in my book.

My date had the Friday fish & chips, which came in a basket with the traditional newspaper lining, but just weren't that good.  For the price, I would have expected all you can eat and not just three pieces of fish.  The fries were decent though and the cole slaw delicious.  I had a burger and it was good, though not great enough to make me go back just for that.

The service, friendly atmosphere and having my two favorite beers available, along with liking Parkville, will make me go back again sometime, but the food left something to be desired.

Nick and Jake's is a very good restaurant-- and it wil be even better when Parkville catches up with the times and outlaws smoking in the entire place. Right now the smoke from the bar fills the waiting area.
We've eaten many meals there and everything is always great. Wonderful meatloaf, salads, chocolate cake etc etc. AND the best kids menu I've ever seen. Not your fat-laden chicken fingers, macaroni-cheese, pizza and fries. Prices are reasonable, and when we're using good sense, we share something anyway. Oh- and the Sunday brunch is excellent too.

This place has a great bar for watching games and they subscribe to every sport package they can get.   The food is good, the service is good, the waitresses are hot.    It gets crowded at the bar during games and happy hour on Fridays for sure.    It can be a bit smoky, but not too too bad.   One of the bartenders, Joy, just won best bartender in the Northland.
