8 reviews for Nice Pizza
After a long day selling at a flea market we were ready to relax at home and order delivery. Since the options in Bed-Stuy are limited, we were happy to try Nice Pizza.
We ordered the proscuitto pizza, onion tart (pissaladiere) and nicoise salad. The food came pretty quickly and we were really happy with what we ordered. The pizza is indeed thin and crackery, much different than the Neapolitan style that most Americans are used to. It was delicious, with a thin layer of sauce and cheese, tomato slices and proscuitto. The crust in the middle was initially a little soft, so we heated it up in the oven, and it crisped right up. The other dishes were great as well- plenty for leftovers, but we wanted to try a few different dishes.
It's not as cheap as your average pizza joint, but don't expect that and you won't be disappointed. It's tasty Mediterranean cooking that's right in the neighborhood and they deliver!
I'm very conflicted about this place. As soon is I walked by while they were still renovating and saw the pizza ovens I began anxiously awaiting opening day, because the neighborhood is seriously lacking a good slice of pizza.
Now that it's open, I feel that the neighborhood is still lacking a good slice. Don't get me wrong, the flavor of the pizza is quite good - the hit of olive oil before serving is a neat touch - and if I wanted to walk in some afternoon with some friends and order a pie I'm quite certain we'd all leave fairly happy.
The problem I have is that I cannot stop in and get a couple of slices and feel fulfilled. The thin crust does not lend itself well to small portions and maybe I lived in Williamsburg for too long, but in the end this place isn't really what I look for in a neighborhood pizza joint.
Good pizza and glad that it is in an area that needs good pizza. Nice Pizza is different from the traditional NY slice. It's still a thin crust, not much sauce with an adequate amount of cheese.
The eggplant, pepperoni and plain slices are good.
The name definitely fits!
Ive been watching this place being put together over the past couple months and getting excited to have another restaurant in the neighborhood. Its located right next door to Bistro Lafayette.
I noticed the other night on my way home from work that they were finally open. I stopped in for a slice, but saw they were cleaning up. My friend asked if they were still serving and the guy behind the counter said they did still have two hot pies they were putting away. I ordered one slice of the eggplant pizza, it was huge! When I went to pay the guy at the register said it was on the house.
The pizza was pretty good, thin crust and cooked to perfection. The eggplant was a nice touch. They could go a little lighter on the seasoning, but other than that I enjoyed it. I am hoping they make a white pizza, if so that will be the next one I try.
The guys kept stopping by the table and asking how it was. Everyone was really friendly. They even made me a togo box with a another eggplant slice and a pepperoni slice.
The decor of the place is simple. There was plenty of space, so no need to feel cramped.
All my fellow Bedstuy/Clinton Hill neighbors should stop by and give it a try!
Just noticed this place was open yesterday and stopped in this afternoon. I tried two slices of the tomato/cheese/peppers/artichoke/eggplant pizza, which seemed to be all that was available aside from a sausage pizza.
Gotta say that the pizza is rather good. I took a delivery menu and plan on giving them my business again soon!
This place is new, so I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. The slices were a little dry (cheese was a bit congealed and there was almost no tomato sauce), tasted a lot like a dried herb mix, and the crust is super-thin, almost cracker-like. Pepperoni seemed tastier than at the usual pizza place, but the vegetarian had a pretty sparse helping of veggies.
I didn't love it, but I am still intrigued by the idea of a French pizza place in the neighborhood -- next time, I'll try something on the small non-pizza menu.
We came at sort of an odd time of day, so it may be that the pizza is better when it's fresher...
Hell yes!
The BEST pizza in the neighborhood!
finally decent delivery pizza in clinton hill/bed stuy border. need to go check out the restaurant it self as well since it looks cute.
