I've been here for business functions that utilize the banquet features. I've been here for several private dinners that used the amazing wine cellar. I've visited for dinner a couple of times and also checked out the bar area. The lovely wife and I have been to several Sunday brunches. Therefore a feel I have a fairly good handle on this place.
I definitely have mixed feelings. It has received a remodel since it changed names a couple of years ago and it clearly is a beautiful space. The bar area has a nice fireplace and has a great feel to it.
The food doesn't quite keep up with the atmosphere. It's not bad but I always feel like the quality should be a notch higher. I'm a fan of the holiday Sunday brunches. This is a great place for Mother's Day, Easter, etc.
The wine cellar is a superb room for a private dinner or a small business function or reception. It must be seen to be believed. If you visit take an extra minute or two, walk downstairs and peek. It really is incredible.
If you want a really fine Italian meal it's worth the drive into South Philly. For the suburbs you'll do OK here. -

We had a very pleasant waiter. I think he said he was Greek. But this is defiantly an Italian restaurant. Food was good but it's the bread I'll go back for. Best bread
I've had in a long time. -

More of a 3.5. The food, mostly Italian fare with some steaks, was better than expected for the burbs at this price point (mid to upper teens for most entrees). It was packed, with people ranging in dress from high end clothing to jeans and sweats. Odd for sure. The parking lot looked like a Lexus dealer mated with a BMW dealer and had Mercedes children.
The wine list was not impressive. Many large name, low end producers (Ecco Domani, Jacob's Creek, Kendall Jackson, Beringer) at 2 to 2.5x retail. About 30 wines by the glass.
If you're in the area and want a quaint, if somewhat average, experience check them out. -

Crappy food, expensive as all get out.

Went to eat here for a family birthday dinner and it was "okay". Probably more like 2.5 stars for food and an extra 0.5 star for service.
Basically, it was your typical Italian, Philly suburbia restaurant with a preppy flair.
My family generally enjoyed their food but my stuffed flounder with jumbo lump crab meat & spinach with plum tomato-based sauce was a "miss." It was very bland (needed something like a garlic or red pepper kick) and the fish was not fresh.
Positives:
- Service (our waitress was great and actually was very good about even the minor things)
- Sitting on the deck for dinner on a beautiful summer night
- Decent selection of standard Italian dishes and steaks
- Homemade desserts and decent coffee
Negatives
- Wine list that was not impressive or interesting (CA and Italian wineries) with a hefty markup to boot
- Really a dated menu with standard Italian dishes and a lack of non-beef and pasta alternatives
- Bland, tasteless Italian white bread
Verdict: Safe but pretty standard stuff. -

UGH
Gravy stains on the seat cushions, the carpeting, the servers apron.
I'm not sure if we got there the day after they filmed a food fight for the next Animal House movie or not. What a sloppy mess.
Too bad because it used to be a nice place, with a good bar, outside dining in nice weather and the service was friendly.
Went there for lunch and never again. Maybe if you go at night and wear sunglasses you won't see all the old gravy you're sitting in.
Food was so-so and service not great.
All in all I would say go on Route 3 to other places for lunch or dinner, this place needs to be 1. hosed down 2. new waiters that don't disappear 3. better chef and maybe a new concept.
Did I leave anything out??? -

This place was horrible. I had eaten here about 2 weeks ago and i must say that this place is completely overrated. I took my fiance and my parents here for a saturday night dinner. The service was bad and the food was so-so. Not something i consider good for the price I had to pay. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

My favorite place to get a filet, I am at a crossroads with Newtown Grille. I love eating there, but the service is horrendous starting with the extremely rude blond-haired woman at the front desk. She has the worst demeanor, and has NEVER been pleasant in the over 30 times I have eaten there. The service from the wait staff is usually good, however I have had several times where it has taken an eternity to get drinks, food, etc. As for banquet facilities, I have checked out all the rooms for showers and there is only one that is worth your money. The wine cellar downstairs is beautiful for special occasions.

I've only eaten there once and it was in the wine cellar so perhaps I am over impressed but I loved it. Was a cold spring day and this just turned out to be a splendid dining experience. I had the filet and it was wonderful. A nice glass of wine . One of the other reviewers said the wine list was lacking and maybe it was but the red I chose was perfect. This is after all the BURBS and not a Stephen Starr establishment. I was here with 36 other people. I have to say we were well waited on and didn't lack for anything. We ordered off the menu and I don't recall anything being anything less than perfect. I can't wait for this spring weather to warm up so I can try it outdoors.

I came here with my family for dinner on a Wednesday and was surprised by the food. There is something on the menu for everyone. I went with the steak! I will be going back here next time I am in the area!

This place is a joke, rude management and crappy food. wild salmon in the middle of the winter ( I don't think so) . This is the type of place that gives Italian food a bad wrap.
