Newt teaches the Non-Violent Communication materials in a professional, practical, and playful manner. He knows the material and is great at providing a safe place for people to practice the NVC skills. He presents the materials in everyday terms. Which, I appreciate a whole lot!!! Working with Newt has lead me to understand my communication style more, assisting me in all walks of life.
I strongly encourage anyone interested in learning more about NVC or looking to deepen their understanding of NVC to participate in the Communication Dojo workshops or study groups!

Newt is amazing.
I had a situation where I was trying to get someone to do something. I thought I knew that this was the best thing for them, and I contacted Newt to help me figure out a way to convince them of it.
He didn't really mention Non-Violent Communication by name, just gave me some really simple tools and steps for empathizing and communicating.
Those tools were my only threads of sanity during a tough time, and through them I was able to understand and articulate what was *actually* bothering me, and listen in a way I hadn't before. I didn't get the result I originally wanted, but through the process I realized that those goals were wrong, and instead came back with a much deeper understanding of the situation, and a better relationship to boot.
I've since started reading the NVC book, and am hoping to work further with Newt in some way. Considering how helpful even the teeny tiny tip of the iceberg was, how can I not?
I was dreading a conversation with my sister that I knew I needed to have---we hadn't spoken in more than a month. She was hurt, I was hurt---we both needed to be heard so badly that we couldn't really listen to each other. When I called Newt I was feeling hopeless about finding a way to repair our relationship and rebuild kindness and trust. Through a combination of empathy and role play, I found a place of emotional stability as well as a transformed way of looking at the situation. Best of all, I found understanding and compassion for both my sister and I; I no longer felt guilty and I no longer blamed her or saw her as being "wrong."
The conversation with my sister went better than I ever thought possible and I have no doubt that it was due to the presence, compassion and empathetic insight Newt offered me. My sister and I now have dinner weekly and call each other during the week---our relationship is stronger than it's been in years and continuing to get closer each day.
Since then, I have asked Newt for help in several situations---he is consistently open, honest, caring and insightful. He has my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a way to transform their relationship with themselves or others.

Take this class! I had been studying Non-Violent Communication not-so-seriously for a couple years and it took this four class sequence and things started to click on a whole new level. I listen much deeper and am much more skillful at expressing myself both in 'challenging' situations and more 'positive' situations where I want to express gratitude, say.
I've been amazed at how much of an impact it has had to bring more awareness around my communication choices.

Newt Bailey is truly refreshing. The teachings of Non-Violent Communication (NVC) is amazing and curious. The practice of NVC is thought-provoking and challenging. Newt understands even the smallest nuances of both verbal and non-verbal communication, and is able to teach his methods in a nurturing environment that encourages progress.
I thought I was a "good communicator" before I took his classes; and even after three sessions, I am absolutely convinced that I have stumbled upon a rare gem of an opportunity to enhance all of my current and future relationships with both intimates and acquaintances alike. Having the abilities to participate as an active listener and as a passionate purposeful communicator, I feel prepared with Newt's teachings.
I would not hesitate to recommend him with 5 stars to anyone who is interested in enhancing their communication style, strategy, approach, and relationships.

Newt is a pleasure to learn from. He delivers his course in an organized and clear fashion. The frequent student participation exercises make the practice of non-violent communication memorable.... and easy to practice in daily living.
I know Newt as a highly skilled communcations coach, teacher and performer. I find that his awareness, compassion and imagination allow him to be an exteremely creative communicator. Newt is gifted with strong intuition and the courage to speak honestly, even in the most difficult situations.
In the NVC practice group that I attend, I find Newt's perspective often shines a unique light on the problem at hand.
I throughly enjoy his warmth and sophisticated sense of humor.
I've sent several friends to Newt when they were in need of support and guidance to handle conflict in their relationships. They all report big learning and discovery in thier sessions with him. I highly recommend Newt Bailey as a coach and trainer.
What I learned from Newt has helped me with a major paradigm shift in my life. I have to take it slowly and in small doses because the depth of the learning and the practice of it takes time, but every conversation we have, his personal attitude and his own living, have helped me to see that communication plays a big role in how we see the world and how we present ourselves to it.
The tools I got from Newt help me in many aspects of my life: professional, personal, romantic.

Newt Bailey is totally amazing! I have been seeing him as a communication coach for the last month and I am so excited about what he has been teaching me about different ways of communicating. While his methods have helped me with my business, I am actually using these skills even more with family and friends. Newt's guidance has helped me really listen to the people in my community, while being able to clearly state what it is that I need as well. While it seems so simple, what Newt is coaching me on is really quite revolutionary. He is great at listening and also offering suggestions and guidance in a way that does not make me feel stupid, and that is awesome! He is easy to work with, and that makes him worth every penny. I have enjoyed our sessions so much that I am actually gifting a few friends of mine with some of his sessions for the holidays. Ahhh.... communications; the gift that keeps on giving!
