Some friends and I did a long run at the nearby reservation and ended at this restaurant. We were hungry, and the line was out the door, but the service was efficient and we got a table in less than half an hour, which is great considering we were a group of 6. The eggs were good. The french toast was great. Nothing disappointed. Plus, the restaurant is right by several bus stops so it was easy to catch a bus back to South Station afterwards (as long as you time it right--on Sundays a bus may only come once every hour). Very cozy atmosphere. I felt like a friend was hosting me for Sunday brunch in her house.

Don't let the line out the door scare you. Everyone has to wait outside because it's so packed inside--even if the line's out to the parking lot there may only be 4 or 5 parties ahead of you. Two- and three-tops should only have to wait 15 or 20 minutes, even on a weekend.

Everything I've eaten here is good, especially the skillets/scrambles and the Lobster Eggs Benedict. Hot cocoa is fantastic. Service is great and food comes out fast. It's a good, solid breakfast and I've never been disappointed after eating here 5-ish times in the last few years.

Awesome steak and eggs!!!! Steak is juicy and tender and the eggs are SO FRESH!!! Someone told me they have a chicken coop out back and that is why the eggs are so fresh. Not sure if its true but they sure do taste like they are. lol

The prices are good, service is great, and since its outside the city there is plenty of parking.

    Great establishment!

The waitstaff at Newcomb Farms is friendly, attentive, and helpful, but asking the breakfast "cooks" to not overcook the food is like asking a giraffe to not be tall.

It's usually pretty good and very affordable, but more than once I've been given bacon that crumbled like dust in my hand before I could eat it because they pre-cook the bacon, then "warm it up" when you order it.

I've been going to this restaurant off and on for about twenty years. Overall, my experience here has been consistently good. They seem to do quite a lot of business. Service is usually prompt, even during busy hours. Reasonable prices and good sized portions.

Steak Benedict is a favorite of mine here, made with steak tips that are tender and flavorful. I also like the skillet breakfasts and the turkey club sandwich.

I hesitate to give Newcomb's a five star review for one reason... flies. Especially during the summer season, there are countless flies buzzing about. More than I've seen in any other restaurant.

Crunchy French Toast!!!!! Newcombs is the coziest and most delicious little restaurant in the world.  My husband & I are there just about every weekend and each time the food is DELISH! If you're looking for a place that serves breakfast all day, this is the place. Highly recommend.

Newcomb Farms, Possibly the best resturant ever! Me and my boyfriend were looking in getting breakfast and seeing we had very little time he stepped on the gas and off we drove where? To Newcomb Farms that is as I stepped in the resturant I thought it was very welcoming, warm and cozy. The menu was to die for at yet reasonable prices!! I ordered eggs, sausage and potatoes with toast it was delicious so good my boyfriend started digging into my plate hehe. I really recommend! You will leave satisfied and become a frequent coustmer no doubt about it!!!!

We were trying to find a place between me (who lives in Somerville) and my parents (who live in Plymouth) and this place popped up on Yelp. Great great great find. The line was out the door but totally worth the wait to get in.

Our waiter was fantastic, Kurt. I had the french toast and it was great. Light, fluffy but not too eggy.

I'm looking forward to going back.

It's great if you can beat the line. The food is ammmaazzing full of grease and love. I would tell you about all the other dishes, but I never stray from my one dish. The other dishes just don't seem as enticing, honestly. My friends agree (we eat breakfast a lot).

The eggs benedict? Divine. You get THREE eggs, and I don't really like canadian ham so I get to substitute with with bacon. The portions are just really great. The staff is super friendly and feels like a homey business.

I would come here all the time if my cholesterol and blood pressure (for waiting patiently for a table) could take it.

My husband and I went last Saturday for breakfast after reading reviews on Yelp.  We love breakfast food and love trying out new places.  There was a line outside but the wait was very short.  The inside was packed and the tables were kind of close to together but people were friendly and seemed like nobody really minded.

We thought the food was good and the prices were very decent.  I got the veggie omelet with rye toast and home fries.  My husband got the New England plate - which was french toast, scrambled eggs w/ bacon.  They give very generous portions.  The home fries were fried and tasted like seasoned french fries but they were good.  I liked my omelet.  I am very particular with how my omelet is made and although it wasn't made the way I would have loved it, it was still delicious, it had a lot of vegetables (onion, mushroom, and green peppers) and american cheese.  I only ate half of it as I normally don't finish whole omelets.

The thing that I am particular about on how they are made is the egg. I don't like the egg to be too fluffy, I like it when the egg part is almost crepe thin and then have the veggie/cheese mixture inside the omelet.  But as I said, I am particular about this.

I also liked their hot coffee a lot.  Usually breakfast joints have bitter coffee but Newcomb's coffee was very good and I even asked for a second refill which I never do at most breakfast joints.  I would come here again.  Our waitress was friendly but she seemed like she was over whelmed and maybe they were short staffed that morning?  The hostess was annoyed about something and I heard complaining about something.  But overall we got what we wanted, delicious breakfast food and it lasted me until 3pm before I got hungry again.

NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE!!!! despite what their website says!  After driving all the way here after seeing that they were handicap  accessible I go up to the door where the elderly woman greets me and says to just pull the chair back on the wheels to get up a 3 plus inch step"the do it all the time". REALLY? ??  In an electric wheelchair??!  "oh, I don't know about that".  "It's an old building"  put an F@@@@@ ramp down!
Change your site to say NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE!!!

    Family breakfast place.
Expect the basics and you won't be dissappointed.  Remind yourself that this is NOT a South End brunch and you'll be happy.

The food is the same old diner type greasy eggs and bacon....

We did have a very friendly, polite, and outgoing college kid for a waiter which explains the third star.

    One word: Stables.

For those of you who didn't spend four years in Amherst, let me rephrase: If I were an unborn chicken fetus, this is the place I would want to be scrambled.

Newcomb Farms is what breakfast is all about. Quaint, homey and always bustling with regulars, there is no place around which compares. Two items worth noting are the Crunchy French Toast (tastes like crispy fried dough), and the hash browns (reminiscent of Friendly's homefries, but way better). Lunch and dinner is offered as well, but the breakfast is so good I am yet to stray.

They accept credit cards, too, which is a nice change from the cash-only, "Crap I need an atm, guess I'll use the one here which charges an additional $5" sort of place.

This place is so glorious. They serve "farmhouse classics" of the breakfast and lunch ilk pretty much anytime, and the food always come out lightning fast. They're open for dinner at least some nights, too, but the menu is always the same, save for rotating specials. As a kid, my family used to eat here on Sunday nights, and they had a local dude playing the guitar and singing folksy classics. A real downhome slice of Americana, to use the cheesiest cliche I can summon.

As to the food, pretty much everything is made fresh and is outstanding. They have the best clam chowder I've ever tasted, and Mrs. Newcomb, who is almost always there seating patrons though she must be at least 70, told me it is a classic Maine recipe and they make it from scratch every day. All their breakfast specialties are out of this world - the eggs benedict, the skillet breakfast, the New England breakfast, the hearty breakfast, the stuffed french toast - you can't go wrong with any of them. I also have a fondness for their chicken pot pies and club sandwiches.

I popped in for lunch the other day, and had a bowl of chowder and a chicken pot pie, which came out to about $11. This is the greatest cheapest meal around, and is a surviving vestige of a local family restaurant. It's worth a pilgrimage for anyone in greater Boston who loves classic breakfast joints, and a must do for anyone in the area. I've been going for at least 20 years and won't stop as long as it is there.

I have now been to both this and the Wollaston location. Like many others have stated this is THE ONE. I knew this as soon as I walked in. It was warm and felt homey.

Our breakfasts were quick and delicious (and CHEAP). Our waitress was wonderful, though I do think she was the only one on the floor doing actual work. But our service never suffered because of it.

We got there just after 2 on a Sunday afternoon and the place was about half full. This location also has a giant parking lot, big plus since it's not the easiest place to get to on public transit.

I have only eaten here once... but I had the absolute best omelet of my life here. They had a special for a lobster omelet on the wall when I walked in... I love lobster so I ordered it. My expectations were rather low since I don't think of lobster and breakfast food.

I was blown away when it came... it had an amazing Hollandaise sauce on it. The lobster was full chunks with the entire claws in tact when I ate it and huge pieces of tail. I got about half the meat of a 1.5 pound lobster in this thing for 10 bucks.... that and the home fries were actually crispy as I like them and the service was very friendly.

I only have one favorite saved in my tomtom and it is the address of this restaurant.

Another great breakfast place in the Quincy area and better, I think, than the one on Beale St in Wollaston.

I usually go for breakfast and have never had a bad meal. I have waited patiently in the long lines on Mother's Day and on an average Sunday.

Really, if you are anywhere near Route 28 in Milton and are looking for some good pancakes, an omelet or a scramble then stop here.

I used to work close by and used to go here everday for a year for lunch. Obviously back then I was a fan.

I recently was in the area and stopped in for lunch. After I got my meal they came by to ask how everything was I had to force out a 'it's good'. I don't know if it was an off day or what but my memory has been tarnished. From reading the reviews it seems like a good breakfast place.

My fiance's family lives in the Quincy area, so they've taken us to Newcomb Farms a few times.

The most recent was on Wednesday, when my Mother-In-Law and Sister-In-Law took me to lunch.

The food was delicious and the wait staff very friendly.

I got a New England Turkey wrap (which I just finished the leftovers from for lunch today) and fries (which were extremely crispy and tasty). My sister in law got a breakfast special with her favorite, skillet potatoes. My Mother-in-law had a club of some sort.

The restaurant was surprisingly empty for mid-day lunch.

I highly recommend checking Newcomb Farms out if you're looking for a reasonably priced family resturant.

It looks like a house, there is always a line outside (since there isn't any room to stand inside), and it's the best breakfast in the area! Who cares what it looks like or how long the line may seem! It goes by quick! If you are slightly impatient...you are seriously missing out.
I love the skillet breakfast or the crunchy french toast! I never had lunch or dinner here but I'm sure the breakfast is their claim to fame!

I went to Newcomb Farms for dinner, it was good.  They serve breakfast (and lunch) all day, so maybe based on the other reviews here, it would have been best to order from the breakfast menu?

The entrees are ordinary American food: turkey with gravy, baked haddock, stuffed pork chops, that sort of thing, starting around $9 with soup or salad and vegetable, which is a very good value.  I was kind of hankering for a hamburger but on the menu they called them "charburgers" which sounded like an inauspicious name.  So I had stuffed peppers.  The dish came with two peppers, each of which had a slice of American cheese melted over the top. Once I scraped that off, it was pretty good.  The salad was a glass plate with iceburg lettuce, tasteless tomato and cucumber slices.  I ordered lite Italian and got a packet of Kens regular Italian.  The waitress was very nice and chipper.

The restrooms could use a little more attention to cleanliness.

best breakfast ever! never had a bad meal.  The skillets are amazing and the omelets too! I love the little lady who seats people.  i swear the best part of going here is having to wait outside before you get  a table...how else are you gonna catch up with friends about the previous night's activities!

the NC in Wollaston is somewhat lacking...it's never busy which i don't understand...same food though, so it's key for takeout.

i recommend the greek omelet or the vegetarian skillet (with REAL Cheese, not the goop they regularly use).

I'm a cop out sorry I preach quality but my first impression was shock what I mean is this I checked out this place for a while literally all day long that lot seems full I was like how? Cheap beyond belief my god the great banana bread french toast was very good and a reasonable amount off food for $5.50 or just $5.75 i forgot another person got the chocolate chip pancakes and liked them for just $5or $5.25 hers was huge i mean big pancakes i was jealous. parking is easy here and yes mostly seniors here and the service speed was what you expect and friendly too. why go to ihope it's more pricey and average tasting and for the same or better quality you pay less here. ok did i have better pancakes and breakfast food yes so it is not 5 star worthy but i left the place thinking hey decent well no good food and at mid 1980's prices

Been coming here for probably 30 of its 46 years (I asked this morning how long they've been open and Mrs Newcomb said she's been there 46 yrs). Love this place for the skillet breakfasts and cheesy potatoes especially. Can't go wrong with anything on the breakfast menu. As we were there later than usual, noticed many having lunch items which look equally appetizing and plentiful. Always good (except for that one time the waitress chased me out into the parking lot for complaining she never once stopped by our table to check on us or even refill our coffees). Every trip back East has to include a stop here.

Hit up Newcombs prior to a hike on the Skyline Trail @bluehills. My first suggestion go early on a Sunday or just don't go. In line at 10:30am and we waited in a long ass line out the dorr with all of the church goers! Didn't think for a second to leave and find another spot because if the line is that long with patients patrons then it MUST be good eats.

After being seated, of course the first order of business is fill the damn coffee mugs! well not so here you need to wait until the server comes over to take your order to first order your coffee. I don't like this is a breakfast joint, one of my faves Percy's has young people going around filling and topping off your java from the moment you step in. The actual coffee itself was so so. Just an avg breakfast blend that did the trick after three mugs. I ordered a bacon and cheese omlet with home fries and english, my lovely companion ordered a New England Skillet which was disappointing, basically a skillet shaped plate with a cacophony of bacon, sausage, onions, home fries and cheese sauce topped with two eggs..sounds like a tasty breakfast mess but it was way tooooo cheesy and looked like slop. My omelet was very generous with the bacon which I appreciate and the omelet itself was just alright. I think an omelet should be the fluffy variety or the thinner buttered up variety stuffed till it busts, this was neither.  Price was fair, place was packed! Seating sucks so if you are going to talk about the debauchery that ensued the night before be ready to share it with some baptist church goers about 4 inches away.

Would I go back...yes to try one of the many specials that we were not told about by our server (boo to you) and that is it. Don't go out of your way to go here.

After taking the morning around the Blue Hills Reservation, we looked for a brunch place and stumbled upon the Newcomb Farms Family Restaurant.  We walked in and were very warmly welcomed and immediately seated at a table.  As we were waiting for our food, we noticed the hostess personally greet all the patrons walking through the door.  She definitely knew the regulars by name and you could tell that the patrons appreciated it.

The food was tasteful and the portions were big.  Exactly what you would expect from a family restaurant.  Even though we all wanted to finish our food, we all had a lot of trouble finishing off our plates.  It's not a gourmet brunch place, but if you want solid food, great service, and very reasonable prices...definitely check out this place!

I've heard about this place for a while but I never really end up Milton on a regular basis. We went on a Monday morning late (11:00ish) which from all I hear is far better then attempting a weekend meal as the lines are incredible. The service and turnover were incredibly fast (most likely as a necessity because of the afore mentioned weekend lines). I had the pancakes which were light and fluffy and tasty. The bacon was crispy. The potatoes were good. All and all a reasonable, tasty breakfast. Could be 5-stars but for me I need a larger sample on breakfast before I'll classify it 5-stars
