NYSC - easy, cheap, great staff. It's just what I need in a gym. I'm a long time athlete and don't need much to impress me. I'm used to working out in a basement with 60 other people on my team. I go at 6:30 am, it's fairly crowded at that time! There is always room for me to do my cardio. There are a surprising amount of machines for the small space. The locker rooms are clean and have everything you need to shower and go to work, which I do every morning. The weight area down stairs is ok, I'd like more free weights space, but most people don't do free weights so I understand.
If you're looking for more of a spa-gym, this is not for you. This is a gym for gym rats and cardio freaks. You get in, get it done, and get out. If Jess G is sweating from changing, I suggest you come to the gym more often.
Ohhh New York Sports's Clubs.. Everytime I go into a different location, I can always find something wrong with it.. And I am not hard to please.
When you walk in, you are greeted by the Cardio machines which look out to... nothing.. And I noticed that the air around that area did not move that much. Which made it very stuffy.
The locker rooms were okay, still shocked at the idea that there is only 4 stalls and maybe 4 shower stalls. Still with the carpet in the locker rooms, which i never see them steam clean. Oh yeah - the air in the locker rooms also were very stuffy. I was just sweating from taking off my clothes.
To go to the weight lifting areas, you have to go to the lower level. Kind of impressed that the weight area (weights and benches) were organized. But again.. stuffy air was also in that area.
Overall, NYSC's have potential but I dont know... they are still not there yet.
