I love hole in the wall Pizza that stands above the competition.

This place does just that.

Great pizza, great crust, great sauce, great toppings, and great price.

The only thing its lacking is a sit-down atmosphere.

Oh yeah, did I forget the $1 something slice + drink???? Thats a deal!

Ah, New York Pizza. Just like many others that have reviewed this place, I used to come here A LOT during high school. Hey, you really can't go wrong with a slice of their cheese pizza plus a soda for $1.50. Back in high school and being on a tight budget, this was the way to go. The pizza slices here are huge, which is a plus, but like many other people have mentioned, other than cheese pizza, I wouldn't get the other kinds. If you get anything other than cheese pizza, be prepared for some funky pizza. I ordered chicken pizza here once and they used what tasted like boiled Chinese style chicken on the pizza. Hey, Chinese boiled chicken is awesome, but not on my pizza.

However, I do have some sentimental value with this place. Also, you can't blame them for not having great pizza. New York Pizza is owned by a semi-old Chinese couple, and if many of you didn't know, you can actually also order Chinese food here, which isn't too bad.

Bottom Line: although the pizza here isn't that great, for $1.50 you can't expect the best and it's great for when you need some cheap food. Also, the Chinese couple that owns the place are SOOOOOOO nice and sweet.

"Hole-in-the-wall" is the perfect, although cliche phrase to describe this place. Before I actually ate there, I always avoided the place because it looked too jenky. I've never actually eaten inside and I think they mainly do delivery/takeout since there are barely any tables and the atmosphere isn't much.

I'm not much of a pizza person, but if I am ever tempted to eat cheap pizza in Fremont (or any other surrounding cities) I'll go to New York Pizza. The toppings are pretty good and the crust is my favorite part--it's slightly sweet, chewy, and yummy. Plus, I've spoken to the owner/workers a few times and they're very friendly. This place also offers Chinese food since it's run by a Chinese family, but I never felt tempted to try it so I don't know if it's any good or not.

It seems like this place is a hit or miss from the reviews, but I'd definitely recommend it. I mean, Fremont is known for its chains, so what's wrong with supporting a local business?

I was suckered into trying this place out when I saw a coupon in the Penny Saver ad offering some deal that, at that time, sounded like a deal.  If it sounds too good to be true...you know the rest.  Absolutely the worst pizza I've had.  Little Ceasars is better than this.  There's no relationship to NY pizza here.  It's run by a Chinese family, which I believe they've learn to cut corners in order to make a really cheap quality pizza.  The toppings are sparse and remind me of my younger days when my parents would bake up a frozen Totino's pizza.  No fresh toppings...all canned.  I was not pleased.  I don't think I even bothered to finish the whole pie.  Fuh-get about it!

If you like a hole in the wall, and the fact that holes in the wall scare away people who don't like holes in the wall (what good are those people?) then this is your pizza place.

The decor is spare (to be polite).  They have wonderful old wood benches which are all carved up and the wall paint is a deafening yellow.  All the signs for sizes, soda and salad are hand-made with black marker.  And all of those are good things, if you can imagine.

They are good things because the pizza is really good.  The slices are huge!  As big as your face (don't put your face against the slice to check, that cheese it hot you idiot) and the toppings are chunky:  Big mushrooms, plenty of olives.  And it's cheap too.  $2.30 (something) for a slice and soda and it's a full lunch.

The owner is nice and will remember your face if you go often enough.  Eat there if you want a quiet meal or be like most and get it to go.

If you do stay, read both (yes there are two) pizza industry magazines.  He has a subscription.  Find out about the forefront of crust innovation.

Back in the day this used to be the high school lunch spot. Including tax, you could get a soda and a huge slice of pizza for $1.50. I would have given it 5 stars then. The pizza was never super delicious, but it was pretty freaking good for $1.50. I've never tried anything else on the menu. Nowadays, the slices are smaller, and the price has gone up a bit. Don't get me wrong, pizza here is still super cheap if you call ahead and pick it up; but if you're looking for pizza to hit the spot, look elsewhere.

This was one of my favorite places to go to during high school. Not only is the pizza cheap, but it is also very delicious. It is run by an Asian family and looks like a hole in the wall.

Despite reading some of the negative reviews on yelp, I decided to try this place once again and I still believe this is one of the best pizza joints.

Damn good carry-out pizza at a reasonable price.  It looks like just a run-down pizza shop on the outside but they make a fine pizza.  Nothing extraordinary, they just do a great job with the basic elements.  Also, their toppings are first-rate.  The mushrooms are fresh for the mushroom pizza lovers out there.

Service is polite and professional.

Why not 5 stars?  I'm just a tough grader.

I love this place and frequent it often. It's your good, greasy (when I say greasy, I mean greasy) huge Blondie's-style pizza slices for cheap prices. It's just a little place but usually there isn't much of a wait. Owned by Chinese people and thus there's other random stuff on the menu like fried bananas, I think, which I've never gotten a chance to try. I like the chicken pizza here.

Absolutely terrible pizza.  It's a crime to have "New York" in the name.  They wouldn't last a week being in business in NYC.  No idea who buys from these folks.  Terrible.

In short I wanted to support the local mom and pop pizza joint. So I gave this place a shot. In short,  I ordered a medium pizza and chicken wings that were unsatisfactory.

The Chicken Wings were rubbery and the sauce was seperate from the chicken. The pizza topping quality was poor/ tasted rubbery.
