3 reviews for New Teriyaki
This place is amazing!
New Teriyaki is in a very non-descript, unassuming "strip mall" style building located on the south end of California Avenue between Thriftway and McDonald's (eh, I don't even like typing their name in my review.)in West Seattle.
The dining area is brightly lit (downfall for me) and open (positive for me). The interior is quite bland with a few interesting art pieces on the white walls. The lady working every time I've been there does a great job keeping the place tidy and clean.
But...the interior is not reason to avoid eating at any restaurant, unless you're a stickler for aesthetic. I...am not.
I've a fair amount of items on the menu and all have been delicious. There really is no menu item I wouldn't hesitate to order again on my next visit.
The standout dishes:
#1 General Tso's Chicken/Tofu- I've ordered this dish with chicken and tofu on separate occasions and they were both superb. I believe it runs about $9 on the menu for a hearty portion usually resulting in 2 meals. The sauce is probably my favorite "General" sauce in Seattle. A perfect amount of tang, ginger and spice. Seriously, so good.
#2 Kung Pao- Chunky vegetables and chicken slathered in a spicy sauce with a few heaps of rice next to it to fill you up.
I can't say enough good things about the food here. The teriyaki chicken, which is usually part of the lunch special, and crab rangoon get honorable mentions.
Go here and eat. It's just damn good.
I live right by New Teriyaki, and it easy to call up an order. Good food and friendly people make for a good meal.
a hidden secret if you ask me. i moved to west seattle a couple months ago near new teriyaki. i saw it once and forgot about it. then finally last week i got the "S-2" (teriyaki chicken and orange chicken combo (rice with both)) and i'm addicted. they give you SO MUCH food that i can only eat half, and the leftovers are just as satisfying as if it were fresh! oh, and really quick too. 10 minute take outs...
