New Styles Beauty Salon
1 review for New Styles Beauty Salon
Owner/stylist Ha Tran rocks!
I called around 10:15 am and hoped to come in early to get my hair did..haven't had a cut since October! Her employee/assistant/shampoo girl told me to come within the hour. About 20 minutes later, she called back to ask me if I was still coming in b/c there's another appt. I haphazardly brushed my teeth and washed and drove within 20 minutes.
Unfortunately I had to wait about 40 minutes when I arrived. No worries, Chi Ha was cutting and there was only one fellow ahead of me. Turns out that there was an appt for highlights later on, so they wanted to make sure I squeeze in and get my turn before that appointment - hell I'm happy they considered me at all!
Chi Ha is short, so if you are taller and have long hair, she will make you stand up and prod your head in different directions to get the best cut. It takes a little getting used to, but as long as I don't have to stand on my head or sideways, I'll do whatever!!!
She assessed my hair, asked me what I wanted and she took into consideration that I am low-maintenance, just wash and go. And then BOOM, she just starts cutting and layering.
Result - shorter a few inches, but long layers to complement this Charlie Brown round face and some bangin bangs! She usually switches off to her assistant to blow-dry while she starts cutting another patron - it's very efficient this way.
I felt soooo pretty and happy when I was done. But then when they started to use the flat iron to totally make the style sleek, felt so sheepish, b/c I'd spend no where near that time on styling! Hell, might as well look hot and let her do the work, right?
Shampoo, conditioning, hair cut, blow dry, and style - $25! A steal!!!! Can't get a deal like this in the Bay area at all!!! Mens cuts are $15 I think, and guys will get two shampoos - before and after. Highlights start around $60 I think...updos start @ 45.
There are tons of Rusk/Biolage/Matrix/BedHead products available for purchase...unfortunately, it's cash-only, but totally worth it!
