You really should do it. I mean at least once in your lifetime. It IS one of the only steam powered paddle-wheelers left in the US that's not docked and being used as a casino.

We did the afternoon tour up the Mississippi. We were going to do the dinner tour, but every day about that time it rained...so we really fooled the weather didn't we?! Nope. It totally came a little rainstorm on us on the boat. Let's see how many people you can fit in the gift shop.

It didn't last long, so it actually cooled things down a bit.

The sites are nice but someone should really prune the trees so you can see stuff better--dunno who would be in charge of such things. I'm sure as heck not doing it. You will sort of see where the Battle of New Orleans took place and some plantations. We also saw some really big boats ( I know they are barges and ships). There's also a neat Domino Sugar Plant that supplies the sugar for the making of whiskey and an abandoned aluminum plant.

We saw pretty scenery, went through the ships engine room, waved at people on the shoreline, checked out every level of the ship, went in the rooms that said employees only, were chased out of the rooms that said employees only, etc.

Yes, by the end you're a little bored, and going "that was it?" But you should still do it, especially if you have kids. It's totally worth it once!

Nice boat and you do see some great scenes on the river but spending two hours isn't that exciting. Maybe if the boat was 40 minuets at max but anything over an hour is just too long.
