If you like tea you will love this little shop.
They have some excellent teas here and nice tea accessories.
The atmosphere is calming and the neighborhood is on the uphill climb.
Be sure to sign up for their mailing list to get a free sample of tea each month.

A total gem! Great teas, really great accessories. I got my favorite thing - a bottle that you can put lose tea in the top, turn over to brew, and turn back over once it's brewed, so it doesn't get bitter. They also have free tea tastings, and if you sign up for their list you get a free 2 ounce tea each month -- great chance to try something new with no risk.
This place as a huge assortment of teas in one tiny little shop. Its all loose leaf stuff which = high quality. You can even find Mate and Chai Mate here which is unusual. They sell by the ounce, 2, 4, and 6. They also sell an assortment of tea accessories. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you love tea, or are gift shopping for a tea lover in your life.

History
Established in 2006
New Mexico Tea Company is owned by David Edwards. David, with the help and advisement of Dianne Edenfield started NM Tea Co. in 2006. NM Tea Co. is committed to making available a range of bulk loose leaf tea to our neighbors throughout the state of New Mexico as well as our neighbors around the world.
Meet the Business Owner: David E.
David has held many jobs ranging from Busser to Bar Tender to Apartment Manager to Sales Associate at Home Depot to Assistant Cruise Director with Holland America Line.
One thing that has remained consistent is his dedication and enjoyment of working with the public. After his 5th or 6th job change in as many years he became aware that perhaps the problem was not the jobs he held, but the fact that he was not in a position to influence any of the companies he worked for.
Therefore the idea of going into business for himself became increasingly tantalizing. He had always enjoyed tea, but did not know anything about it other then his experiences with Tazo, Lipton, and Celestial Seasonings. Through a series of events he found himself renting a space near down town Albuquerque and ordering shipments of fine teas.
In the three years since NM Tea Co. has been open his knowledge of the subject has increased immensely, but there is still always more to learn.
