This place is freakin' awesome. I have been here several times in my life, and I will continue to return whenever I am in the area.
The planetarium is great, I LOVE the dinosaur stuff, the cave and space displays are cool too, and they have a bunch of exhibits that change throughout the year. This is a really great place for kids AND adults.
P.S. The restaurant has yum yum sandwiches, salads, coffee, ect. ;)
Since my husband is a science geek, we made the effort to check of the Natural History and Science Museum in Albuquerque.
I could have done without, but honestly it was pretty cool once we were inside. After all, there are a lot of dino bones found in NM, so we were in for a treat. They had lots of cool stuff inside, like lifesize replicas and some with real bones as well.
They had a few real live animals too, which I wasn't expecting, like turtles and things, but still... it was very interesting.
My favorite part was when you go to go through the stages of time and walk through a volcano.
Pretty interesting.

I really enjoyed myself here. Almost all of the exhibits were not only informative but interactive. The layout of how to go through the place was nice for those who want a taste of everything instead of focusing on a particular topic. You got to see bone doctors gently scrubbing away at artifacts. I think my favorite exhibit is the collection of photos taken around New Mexico. Beautiful. If i ever return, I'd like to check out the theater there.

The NM Museum of Natural Museum is great place to learn about the natural history of life and the planet. I love the Evalator--so cute. This may not be a large museum but truly aims at teaching youngster and not so young ones about natural history. It is a fun museum.
This is a great place to take your kids, especially if they are in elementary school. I spent about 3 hours here looking at the life size versions of Allosaurus, Mososaurus, and the cute little man-eating Oviraptors-- how sweet. There's a geology 101 and anthropology 101 area here for the geo geeks, and if you enjoyed the Walking With Dinosaurs series on the Discovery Channel you will definitely enjoy the feeling of how small we are compared to the giant beasts of yore. There's a gift shop with games, educational material, and also a bunch of crap too. I'd give it 5 stars if 1) you could control the giant sized dinosaurs with a remote, and fight duels with other dinosaurs, and 2) if you could do it from the comfort of a bar. Maybe that's a new entertainment center-- drinking daquiris and deuling with dinosaurs.
