I had an appointment this morning with Cindy. When I walked in I was told that Cindy wasn't there yet. I was mildly annoyed since I had an appointment. I sat down and grabbed a magazine. I hadn't even gone through the table of contents when I hear a "hey!! I here, I here! So sorry!!! Let go!" I have never been to this place before nor did I even know what Cindy looked like and she talked to me as if I was her favorite customer! I thought it was humorous. I really had only been sitting there for maybe 2 minutes and she couldn't stop apologizing. She even told me her (quite personal) reason as to why she was late.
I got my hair washed, and as someone else had said, this is not as comfortable as you would find in some high-end salon. We went over what I wanted done on my hair (about 2 inches off, keeping the layers) and she got right to work. I told her that I always straighten my hair and so she did the same.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my hair! I tend to neglect getting a hair cut because I don't have any strong ties to a particular hair stylist. I think that is all about to change. Cindy did an amazing job! A wash, cut, and style for $18!! And it looks great! If I had gotten the same treatment at one of those high-end places, I'd be eating top-ramen for a week, but $18!? Not a problem. I gave her a healthy tip and told her that the next time I need anything done, I will definitely return to her.
This place is probably the best little vietnamese hair/nail place I've ever been to. I'm usually pretty skeptical but reading the reviews on Yelp helped ease my concern. And now I know why! This place is awesome and I highly recommend it.

If this place was a restaurant it would be a burger king, cause I had it my way!! Real good! and real fast!!!! Will definitely come back to get my hair cuts!!!
Try this place on a whim after reading the positive reviews on yelp, and made an appointment with Cindy for a haircut. She was friendly and gave me an amazing haircut for a very reasonable price. I tipped her generously because I thought the price was too good to be true for the great job she did. She layered my hair using scissors, not with a razor, just shows she's one talented stylist. I would recommend Cindy to my family and friends.
My co-worker & his wife owns this salon so that's how I heard about it. Tell you the truth, I am a little skeptical and weary about small asian salons but decided to go and check it out. If I don't like it, then at least I know right....It's a haircut, not some major plastic surgery.
As I stepped into the store, a Vietnamese man greeted me and then a Vietnamese woman approached me and introduced herself. Her name was Cindy. She seemed friendly and stylish and asked me what I needed done. During the whole process, she was attentive, sweet, not overly fake nor chatty. I hated it when stylists don't know when to shut up and just concentrate on what they're doing. I'm afraid they're going to mess up due to all that diversion.
To make the story short, she did an EXCELLENT job. I really like that fact that she was extremely detailed oriented and meticulous in her work, especially with the highlights. She put a lot of effort into my hair and and for a layered cut, color and highlights, she charged me only $100.00!!! Can't beat that at an upscale salon with the same outcome. The ones that charge you an arm and a leg for a simple haircut. I will definitely go back to do my touch-ups since she says that she'll give me a discount. Everyone at work LOVED my new haircut so I will definitely recommend her to all my friends & family.
Woman's haircut is $15-25, Men's is $7.00. The salon also does waxing, facials, pedicures, manicures, etc. I also heard that Helen is pretty good too. FYI, Cindy is off on Mondays and Helen is off on Tuesdays. I also like the fact that the salon has a very diverse clientiele. While I was there, a few Mexicans and whites rolled in. Some young, some old.
The place is off of Hamilton Ave & Darryl Street. In the plaza of Petsmart & Mervyn's.
This place was great! I called and made an appointment the day before, then called about thirty minutes before my appointment and rescheduled for a later time, then showed up ten minutes late and I still got an amazing haircut and a PERFECT style! I'm not usually that difficult a customer but I really appreciated how friendly and skilled the staff were. I got a cut and she curled all of my hair for only $25. Not only that, but there's a hole in the wall billiards bar thing right next door so my boyfriend had something to do while he waited. I have paid WAY more for mediocre haircuts, so this place was a steal! Will definitely return.

If you're ever going to get your hair cut here, ask for Cathy. She does really nice layering and highlights--and for a VERY CHEAP price!! A simple haircut is just $8 (and it looks better than those other fancy-schmazy places that charge you $60 for a freaking cut) the first time i was here, i was satisfied.
So i decided to come again.. this time, Cathy wasnt working so an old Vietnamese man did my hair. I asked for a TOUCH-UP for my highlights and a TOUCH-UP for the black strands. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. not only did he f* up my hair, but he burned it to a point that my hair SNAPPED everytime i ran my fingers through it!! Also, his bossy manager charged me so much n all i asked for was a touchup (and with my own dye). I was so mad; luckily, i reasoned the price with him and almost cried my eyes out. the price was still outrageous.
what a greedy jerk. i will never come here again.
this place is excellent! decent prices for great haircuts!
