As far as a buffet goes it is a pretty good one. The food is always fresh and is pretty varied. The staff is rather reserved but they are certainly efficient. This may be attributed to the possible language barriers. They keep the tables cleared and drinks filled very efficiently.
My mother would give this place a five star rating...she could eat there everyday. She likes the variety and the price. Every week when she goes grocery shopping this is usually the place she prefers to go to lunch at in Jacksonville.
They do have boiled shrimp and steamed mussels which I adore. They have always been fresh and properly prepared.
One recommendation would be to get the ice cream machine fixed. It served soft serve ice cream and recently broke down. It was replaced by some cheap no name ice cream in paper cups. -

China Buffet has a strong following in this town, which is surprising.
There's not a lot to be found in the Asian food market down there, so a decent Chinese place is in high demand.
It is ALWAYS busy in here! Always. It's pretty remarkable when you consider that the food is just "eh." It's not BAD, but not great.
The selection of food is great, and the desserts are decent. Table service is amazing, and they have figured out how to clean tables and get new people in. It's down to a science.
The "spicy" stuff isn't terribly spicy, but it's not bland.
Overall, it's not the best chinese I've ever had, but if you go in expecting that it won't be astounding, you'll be okay.Listed in: If you're ever in Central…

This place is good, not great, but lets remember where it's located. They really can't cut loose with the spices on Chinese food 'cause they're in the middle of the mid west where John Deere hats are a plenty.
