2 reviews for Nevada City Inn
This is now our FAVORITE place to stay in Nevada City. We have tried other places in years past that were overpriced, run-down and/or snooty.
We stayed here one night this past weekend and we're delighted with our stay. They have an up-to-date website that also features a slide show with photos that are accurate!

PLUSES:
We stayed at a 2 bedroom cottage that was perfectly comfy for the 3 of us (hubby, me and teen son). It was clean and sunny and quiet. Each bedroom had a queen-sized bed, armoirre and dresser.
We felt like we were staying at our mom's/mother-in-law's house. I felt as "snug as a bug in a rug" when I got into our roomy queen sized bed.
It also felt like we were spending the night in a past life. The rooms had a old timey/Gold Rush era feel to them.
The cottage has a living/dining room area with a sofa and coffee table, dining room table, kitchenette with 2 burner stove, microwave, dorm sized fridge and PLENTY of dishes, silverware and cooking implements.
The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, heat lamp and lots of thick, fluffy towels.
Plenty of windows.
Floor heat vents kept us warm during the 30 degree night.
Large front porch with lots of chairs.
Entire set is really in a park like setting. Front of inn has a LARGE grassy area. Lots of trees everywhere.
Desk staff is very welcoming. The guy that checked us in was super nice and helpful!
The cottage comes with an iron/ironing board and hair dryer.
A large grocery store and a natural foods market/restaurant (California Organics) are a block away.
Continental breakfast (which we didn't try, but noticed) offers choice of hot or cold cereals, juices, coffee, tea or hot cocoa, yogurt, fruit, packaged pastries.
Price was reasonable for the size of the cottage and compared to other places in this area. It was $135 (plus taxes).
Possible Minuses for some people:
No mints on the pillow.
No 1000 thread sheets.
No swimming pool, sauna or whirlpool.
Dining room area a little "snug." I have a little trouble navigating my chubby body around the chairs when they were pulled out all the way.
:D
TV is on a high shelf. If you are tall (ie over 6 feet like my hubby and son) you may want to watch yer heads!

Stayed in the "hard rock" studio cottage. I loved it. The walk into downtown Nevada City was about 20 mins, and was such a nice walk. The people who work at the nevada city inn were really nice, there is a killer Gazebo area where I was able to enjoy a little smoke session and play some guitar without being bothered (or appreciated damnit). The walls were a little thin.. but at least there were no bed bugs. what I really liked about the studio cottage was that there was dishware, a sink, and it was inexpensive.
