Oh crap! You have to buy a wedding gift for your roommate from college. You know, the anti-traditionalist who's having her wedding on a goat farm and is having pie instead of cake. She's eschewed paper invitations, bridesmaids and a gift registry. Oh noes! You can't just go to BB&B and pick up a waffle maker. What to do?
Go to Nested. For real. If I had a house, I'd buy all of its decorations here.
Adorable store with urban-outfitters esque gifts (titanic themed ice cube tray, moleskins and kitschy cards) and great apartment accessories.
For small gifts it's great, but I advise checking the price of larger items online before buying them here. I found Umbra wall decor at three online sources (including the maker) that was half of the price nested was selling it for even after shipping.
Nested is my favorite shop in Carrboro, actually it's one of my favorite shops ever. I love all the Marimekko stuff, jewelry, and little odds and ends, and wish that Mike bought me more presents here! :) Jenny, the owner, is really great at helping you pick out a gift if you don't know exactly what to get. I've bought a good percentage of Christmas gifts here for friends and fam for the past few years, and everyone seemed happy!
This store is so cute, and the owner is lovely! You can always find a gift here, and I think you can still register here for bridal gifts.
What in the world is this place? It's hard to catagorize it as a store of one kind or another, since it sells a little bit of everything. My personal favorite was a 19-piece plastic "Anatomical Pig." Beautiful.
The staff is very nice, if a bit distant. The prices are a bit much, but the merchandise is quite high quality. I'd recommend Nested for any time you're in the mood to buy something but don't know what to buy. You'll probably find the right thing here.
I buy ALL my girlfriend's presents here. She loves this place because of the smartly designed items that Jenny (the Owner) find and displays. It's also a good place to get one of those Carrboro T-Shirts.

The price range is as wide as the item selection.
A definite stop if you're looking for something unique!
What a cute store. I've always thought of it as more of a gift store -- a place to go and find unique jewelry, ceramics, fun housewares ranging from designer-mod to kitschy. But they're also a place to go all out for interior design (they have fabric and carpet swatches for upholstery and floors) and special occasions (you can have a consultation with the store to pin what you need for your registry; then the list is made available and updated on the Nested website).
I can't believe that I haven't talked about Nested yet. What a great store. I get my journals here and a new datebook every December. I also buy ALL my family holiday gifts and wedding presents here.
This is a cosmopolitan's dream, a lovely little spot with all sorts of goodies from all over the world, plates, lunch boxes & thermos (from Germany), journals rebound with old tossed out books as their cover. You'll find body scented creams & bath scrubs, candles a nifty little gadget that's used to sit your cellphone near your bedside & jewelry. It has so much to offer, and let's not forget the art posted on the walls and in the back for purchase.
