10 reviews for Nesbit the Complete Body Salon
I tried this place on one of my forays into Richmond- not too bad at all.
I received a hell of a massage - maybe a little too much work on the knots as I was sore for a day or so afterwards, but still the whole experience was good.
The place is much larger than it appears from the street- it is nicely appointed and the staff is all very helpful.
i've had my hair cut here twice as well as a massage. The hair appointments were pretty good but nothing that warranted the $90 price tag. I only made a second appointment because I hadn't found a decent hair stylist at the time and the quality i received was fine enough.
The massage, however, was fantastic. The masseuse was thorough and the ambiance was great. The music they played wasnt too distracting or over the top --- definitely worth the $$
Not a big fan. My girlfriend and I bought the couples spa/massage package and it was a bust. The spa part was a giant claw foot tub filled with water so hot I could have boiled lobsters. I literally drained it myself and refilled it, but by the time we were able to get in we had to get right back out.
The massage was good though. I only wish the guy massaging me would have shaved his arms. He had bear arms and despite the good massage, the hair was so thick and rough it was almost creepy.
I would suggest it for massages, but not soaks.
I've had the couples massage package as well as 2 prenatal massages here. I've also had pedicures and waxing done here. The couples massage was really nice. The prenatal massage was fabulous of course-- because hello!-- your pregnant and so happy to be able to "lay" on your stomach! However, I was slightly dissapointed because it was advertised as a prenatal massage table and it was not. It was a "special" pillow instead of a cut- out type hole in the massage table. But guess what?-- It was still fab and the staff is super friendly. Would highly recommend.
I had my haircut last week by an apprentice named Carolina and she did an excellent job. Everyone was very warm and friendly at the salon. After reading some reviews I though the place would be stuffy but this was not the case. They offer you a beverage while you wait and I had a really good latte. The smoothies looked awesome and I kinda wish I had asked for one of them instead. They have daily email specials available but an apprentice haircut is only $30. Regular haircut prices range from $50 to $100. The prices seem a bit high for their nail services even with a discount.
This place is HUGE and seems to have lots of new people working there as well as new management. Went there years ago when I was a student (they give student discounts & apprentices are just as good as stylists). Now that I've moved back to town; this is the place to go for everything and Henry makes a mean latte'.
April is great!
My friend used to work there and they treated her like sh*t. I had several mediocre massages and maybe one good one. Decent setting, but I won't go back after I heard the way they treat their employees.
Richmond's answer to the starving student in need of pampering. Their daily e-mail specials, which you can sign up for via their website, offers generous discounts for last minute availabilities. I personally recommend Leland (one of my favorites). I didn't have such a sterling experience with Cindy, but then, just my personal experience. The staff is very friendly, and they also have a juice/coffee bar on the premises (read: delicious smoothies). They also boast the Dermalogica skin care line, which works wonders. Only downside: they've recently cut down on their operating hours, so available times are limited.
Always happy with my service here. They pamper you with a beverage when you arrive and will touch up your make up on the way out the door.
