Salvadorean/Mexican cuisine.
Sooooooo delish! You know it's authentic when the waitress says to you "ingles poquito". She couldn't even explain to me what the "loroco" in "el queso loroco" was which was totally fine; I just opted for the items she gave an approving nod to.
I had the Pupusas Mixed Plate ($5.95) which consisted of two pupusas of your choice, cole slaw, beans & rice. I chose chicharron (chicken & cheese) & revueltas (pork, beans, cheese). The queso they used could've been quesillo which is a really smooth & soft Salvadorean cheese; you can tell a distinct difference. The pupusas were also so soft & tasty! Top it with coleslaw, salsa & even some Tapatio and you've got yourself a delicious delight. I liked the revueltas a lot more because it had more flavor & filling than the chicharron.
I also tried the fried plantains... they give you a little plate full for only $1. Very soft & sweet. The bistec platter is HUGE, with two big slabs of meat.
The only downfall was that they give you a itty bitty bowl of chips with lots of salsa! Two kinds - a chunky one & a thinner, saltier, spicier one. I guess it's a good thing because the portions are HUGE and you can use the salsas on your entree. Service was a bit slow even though there were only three tables in such a big restaurant but you can taste the TLC in the food.
Something that's still funny to me is that the music is on very loud. A decibel away from the club.
