I'm 26 weeks pregnant and have trouble sleeping at night. I found this place on the Internet at 3 am. Read the reviews and decided to try it out.
The reviews sounded incredible ; such as, carrot cake cupcakes to die for. I read that everything is organic. Also a vegan, vegatarian and meat friendly environment.

    My personal experience:

I walked in and the heavier set lady with blonde hair was really flustered, to the point of being borderline rude. I asked if she had anymore cupcakes, pastry case was almost empty accept for a few oatmeal cookies. Without any communication, she leaves. I see her filling a cooler with ice and getting rungs from the cooler. I was standing there without knowing what the heck was going on?? Good news, she didn't forget about, she just doesn't know how to communicate to her customers. She pulled cupcakes from a walk in freezer. My first impression was, they received good reviews, don't judge so quickly. She placed a few cupcakes in the showcase and asked how many I wanted. She put 2 large cup cakes and 4 small cupcakes. I responded that I will take the 2 she placed in there along with a breakfast burrito. She snapped and said, what size? I answered large. Maybe she didn't understand my communication. I proceeded to ask if she had decaf tea. She said she had decaf green tea. I was delighted, since green tea is my favorite. I told her that i didn't know thst existed. She asked if it was for here or to go and I asked her how long for the burrito and she rolled her eyes and said 5 or 10 minutes. I told her we would eat the cupcakes now. The lady could have just been having a bad day, totally understandable. We are human. But the icing on the cake was the crappy cold and hard cream cheese frosted carrot cake cupcake. I paid $3.25 for this? I don't mind paying $3.25 for Kara's in Walnut Creek, it's fresh and delicious. Nature's Bounty was not even in the same playing field. My breakfast burrito was filled with potato and cheese. She made 2 other burritos for customers, did she run out of egg and decided to pass this off to me and think it's ok. I Paid $6.50 for my burrito. Needless to say, I will never go to this place again. Unfriendly staff and below par food for a gourmet  price.

The breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, soups, and potato salad are awesome! (And I'm picky about my potato salad.)  And well worth the price.  Lynn is always great and the new guy cooks everything the best!  During the winter, they close a couple hours earlier if it's really slow.  Oh and the Fuzzy Peach smoothie is one of the best smoothies I've had! And the free wifi is a nice plus!

Pretty damn good! I am far from a hippy... I LOVE BEEF!!!! I dont do the vegan stuff or anything like that. So I came across this place and thought I would try this place for a nice healthy alternative and something new/different.

Prices were a tad higher than non-organic food but it IS organic... so the prices will be a bit higher, common sense.

I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was very tasty and made 2 meals for me (on a low cal diet). Only thing that I could think to make it better would be to have a spicy bbq sauce or offer jalapenos?

Overall I am excited to go back and try something else! Also as someone else stated... the hours kinda suck... closed on the weekend =( but not a huge deal.

This place is a welcomed change to all the processed crap that we ECoCo County residents are forced to endure.

    Fresh, Organic, Natural, Sustainable food!

We might actually start increasing our life expectancy if Nature's Bounty decided to open a location in Oakley/BWood.

Oatmeal Rasin Cookies are the bomb!  Coffee mmmm....

Oh and they do weekly meal plans and cater Thanksgiving dinner.

In the far away land known as East Contra Costa County, lived a foodie. The land was filled with the neon signs of chain restaurants, blinking happily and beckoning hungry patrons to feast upon their factory farmed wares. But this foodie was sad. She did not want the neon signs, the factory farm, soulless food. She craved freshly made, sustainable and ethically raised food. But no matter where she looked, despite living in the middle of farmland, there seemed to be nowhere to enjoy such food other than buying things at a farmstand and cooking them herself.

And then one day, the foodie found herself in downtown Antioch. She strolled by Nature's Bounty Cafe and behold! Fresh, sustainable, ethnically raised food. Fair trade coffee with organic cream and sugar. Lots of vegetarian and ethically raised foods to choose from. Nature's Bounty was a perfect little cafe in the middle of the Food Inc. desert.

The foodie feasted on a delicious breakfast burrito and filled her coffee cup with the fair trade coffee. She basked in the little oasis of Nature's Bounty, happy to eat seasonable food that was good for her and that she could feel good about. The foodie left with her tummy happily full and vowing to tell the world about Nature's Bounty so that they too could eat well.

Okay, the cheese cake frosting carrot cake is to die for!!! That is no lie! And if you are fortunate enough to taste the chocolaty sinful brownies you will find yourself back the next day for 2 more brownies STAT on the go!

I have been fortunate enough to eat here many times everything is FABULOUS! From the tuna sandwiches, to the Walnut Cranberry salads, to the split pea vegan soup! And guess what! Best of all it's all organic so there is no guilt! And I am sure by eating here you are saving the planet because they even recycle! Now tell me how cool that is! I know!

The employees here are amazingly nice and are wonderful, easy going, and always happy to see you! I can't say that if I worked there I wouldn't be happy as heck too! Catering here is great! Wonderful for e events if it is in your budget :)

Anyway I could ramble on forever about how much I love my berry blast smoothie's with splenda please but I've got some more reviews to do! Gosh I love this place! And you will too! Get down there now if you like good food! Can I get an amen?!

Oh and P.S- They have weird hours so lunch is best and they are not open on the weekends- Yes I know... tear.

Stopped in yesterday and ordered a half size of there Turkey Cranberry Wrap and It was DELICIOUS  !!!

The combination of Toasted walnut cranberry cream cheese spread with thick slices of turkey, grated carrot and sweet dried cranberries came together perfectly, creating a mouthwatering satisfying lunch for only $5.00 not bad and it was huge!! Glad I stuck with ordering only half.

I tied up my little Wyatt to a chair they had outside as I got their tropical smoothie. The cashiers were doting over Wyatt -- I swear my little dog is a ham! Of course, he was trying to pull himself into the shop and blocking the door as he was doing so, but he couldn't even get the darn chair to budge! haha

Smoothie was super good as usual, but I think I prefer the orange dreamsicle more.

Amazing! Looks like it belongs in Berkeley. If I am forced to work out of our Antioch office this is definitely the place I go eat lunch and breakfast. The staff are awesome and the food is D-LISH!!!

They have a great selection of healthy drinks and food. I think that their breakfast burritos are amongst the best I have ever had. I also applaud them for making such amazing smoothies.

A colleague of mine said that I absolutely have to try the soy chai (which is my fav drink) so I will definitely have to go back for that.

I am bumping my review up a star for another amazing lunch and reliable wifi.  The service is really good too.  They have two lunch combos and I opted for the smaller, $8.25 one.  It includes half a sandwich, small green salad with choice of dressing, and another side of your choice - either pasta salad, potato salad, or soup.

I got the chicken salad sandwich, salad with balsamic dressing, and the potato salad.  http://www.yelp.com/bi... The salad was loaded up with tomatoes, chick peas, carrots, and onions.  The potato salad was freshly made (she was actually making it while I was ordered) and dill-icious.  If you do not like dill, you would not like this potato salad.  The dressing is light and doesn't overpower the perfectly cooked potato chunks.  Their chicken salad is different but delightful.  It has crunchy apple and house made sweet and spicy walnut bits.  So good.

For $10 I had a very tasty, tummy satisfying lunch and a water, all while checking my e-mail by utilizing their free wifi.  Definitely five stars worthy.

I've only been here a handful of times, but I'm consistent!   It's nice to support small business first of all, and equally nice to support an organic food establishment.  Certainly you pay a little more for organic, but hey, it's your body, and your health.  Not to mention, HUMANE.  hmm... mentioned it.

I love the ham and gouda sandwich.  I haven't had any soups or smoothies yet (yes I still drink Pepsi).

It's in the carcass of Antioch's downtown area which is just now beginning to see some life again.  Easy to get to, take the G street exit and head towards the river (yes Antioch has a waterfront!).

I hope they make it and help the downtown area make a comeback!

I've used Natures Bounty many many times to cater large work events. For two reasons. One they are so beyond reliable they make me look fantastic in front of the big wigs, and two the food is so good my VP literally insists we use them for all our big events, she actually looks forward to coming out to visit us a few times a year cause she knows shes gonna get her some Natures Bounty :p
Must tries = The homemade thumbprint jam cookies, the cream cheese carrot cake muffin (oh mah gawd), and the brownies that render me completely incapable of only eating one.

Re: overall : I'm all in favor of friendly staff, tasty food and nice ambiance and they've got it all.  Seems kinda out of place for the neighborhood but I wish them well.

Re: food:  The lentil soup was tasty, rich and saucy.  Can't believe it was actually organic and good for me. Yikes!  Needed only a smidgen of salt and pepper tableside to perfect it.  The potato salad was small in portion but had petite yet chunky pieces of red skinned potatoes.  It was well seasoned with dill and did not need doctoring up.  The meatloaf sandwich was ok. They cut the pieces of meatloaf too thick.  it was awkward to consume.  I can see building the sandwich tall but maybe cutting slices not HUNKS of meatloaf.

Re:  wifi connection.   That was getting well used.  I was there at 2 pm and there were 3 tables of people, nice afternoon amount and a few more wandered thru for smoothies etc.

RE: Prices:  1/2 sandwich, small portion of potato salad and small soup with a small bottled water was $10.50.

Re: dessert:  After reading the reviews I decided to try the carrot cupcake (loads of cream cheese frosting!).  Quite de-lish!  THAT would get me coming back for more!
Re: "green"   The "green" utensils were cool. My first time using them.  I couldn't figure out what was weird about them at first, then it clicked.  I liked the concept and all.  I think I would  go back again.

Nice variety and flavor in a genuine health food shell.

Located in the Marina/downtown district of Antioch, it's a nice place to take a walk or sit outside on a table in the warm sun.  You're in the delta at the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers and it's mellow and nice.

I've ordered a wide variety of sandwiches and smoothies here.  The smoothies were a bit of you see what you get without a lot of unique added flavor, but they're still pretty good, maybe slightly inferior to Jamba Juice in terms of taste.  Not nearly the options you'd get there, but there's plenty of other food to keep you happy.

They have the cleanest Meatball sandwich on earth.  It's good, but it's a tiny bit off-putting being so healthy and lean.  It's probably much better for you, but it may take many time to get comfortable.

They also have a pretty nice variety of other healthy, flavorful sandwiches.  While epidemic elsewhere, not once has mayo ever made an unwanted appearance on my sandwich.  As abhorrent as mayo is to me, that's a huge plus.

The barbecue chicken panini is also pretty good.  Again the lean, healthfulness is readily apparent.  As a man, it bothers me less, but I know women tend to appreciate leaner, healthier, less filling food in many cases.  This sandwich and their others fit the bill nicely.

Their meatloaf sandwich is delicious.  It's perfect, exactly what I would ask of such a thing.

Lifewise, they have the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had.  It's super lean, yet still wonderfully flavorful.  I have trouble with pastrami, and have since I was not longer a kid with an iron gut, but their pastrami is totally palatable with no unpleasant consequences later.

They always have deals on sandwiches and other foods that are a day old as well, maybe only a dollar off sometimes, but it's all still pretty good.

I've had some other sandwiches, wraps and other items that just looked good and it was always in the realm of leaner, lower fat, healthy, thoughtfully prepared and surprisingly well-flavored for what it is.

For a treat, try some of their Purity brand beverages.  There's a strawberry that's absolutely delicious.  And it's just strawberry, not strawberry lemonade.  Perfectly ripe, sour and sweet strawberries mixed into a pulpy, thickish juice.

The owner and young women working there have always been very friendly and helpful.

It's an ideal, healthy breakfast cafe with a nice spot that gets a lot of sun.

I found myself in Antioch on Friday and in need of breakfast.  I tried Nature's Bounty due to the popularity on Yelp.  The staff was really nice.  The breakfast sandwich was fresh and delicious.  The only reason why I didn't give this 5 stars is that the coffee was not that great.  It was pretty watery.  I am used to Coles and Peet's so watery coffee is not very tolerable.

Great place to hang out and kill some time too!

The soup was left over Lemon Chicken and Rice, but it was still good. The Chicken Salad was a little bland. The Garlic Ranch dressing on the salad was yummy, as was the Choc Chip cookie.

Even if this wasn't in the middle of the culinary and organic desert that is Antioch, this would be a killer cafe.  I haven't yet had their catering or home delivery items, but I have had their pastries, salads, soups, sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, and extra helpings of their generous service.

My family and I had been waiting for them to open for several months, as we had walked by their storefront and saw that they were an organic and natural foods cafe.  We have not been dissapointed, and now every time we are in the area, my sons beg to go in and see the staff (and eat another muffin!).  Prices are reasonable (not cheap, but perfectly in line with the type and quality of food they offer), and the selection is great.

They seem to be out of place in the Rivertown district (organic food?  in Antioch?), but next door is the American Institue of Natural Healing, so hopefully that's the direction the downtown revitalization is heading.

Oh, and service?  Amazing!  While pregnant, my wife HAD to have some of their soup, and I was running late.  I called ahead, and even though they were CLOSED for the evening, they stayed another 20 minutes, got me the soup, then gave me extra muffins for my wife and sons.

All together, this is a great restaurant, good prices, great food, great atmosphere, great service, and an amazing find in the middle of East Contra Costa County!

Just Monday I promised myself that I would give up caffeine for at least a month, on Tuesday after going to one of my job sites in Antioch I was craving the black nectar like no tomorrow. So I busted out my trusty Iphone Yelp app and found this place.  Cute little area not being from this city I did not think they had anything that did not appeal to the masses like your Wal-Mart, Target, Olive garden and the like. Having  found this little coffee shop was a hug e plus, the staff was super friendly and the coffee was not bad, it could have been stronger. Next time that I'm in the area I will try their baked goods or breakfast specials and I will update this review based on those and of course the cup of Joe.

definitely a go-to. they also take visa/mc and you can order on phone or through their website!

If there were more places like this in the Rivertown District I'd go there more often. This cute little lunch shop is pretty much the only reason I go to that area. All their sandwiches I've tried are yummy but I LOVE their meatloaf sandwich the most. Their carrot cupcake with cream cheese frosting is TO DIE FOR. I can never leave the place without one. Yes, they are a bit pricy for this area (defintely "City" prices) but worth every penny for such good, fresh organic food and friendly service.

I'm an idiot. My friend has been telling me about this place for a couple of years now and since I'm a chump that works during the day and Nature's Bounty is like NEVER open on weekends we just couldn't make it work. BUT finally the stars aligned and I was able to eat at this fine establishment! My vegan tofu ciabatta sandwich was delicious, especially the mysterious asian dressing that was poured liberally on top of it. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I thought it was completely reasonable in size and deliciousness for how much was paid for it. On the other hand, charging three bucks for a THIMBLE of hummus is really just ridiculous, it's not like hummus is hard to make or has expensive ingredients! Aside from that I look forward to trying all of their vegan offerings in the near future! (PS - make some vegan cookies!!)

Very friendly staff.  Best place in Antioch to get a good tasting, healthy, meal.  Their espresso is done well, and its a comfortable spot to study and use free WI-FI.  Thanks NB!  I'll be coming back and lounging around for another 4 hours some other day.

Yeah, they are kind of expensive. Yes! I am quite frugal too! Just know that the occasions when you do spend your dollar at a place like this, IT'S PC FOOD BABY!!!! yes politically and usually ethically and more local! I used to temp for city of antioch public works and this place is right down the street. The girls that work there are nice, the owners are involved and really nice as well. I need to state that the carrot cake muffins are OFF THE HOOK.  When I was little my aunt would make the best carrot cake with the cream cheese frosting.. it was De-Lish. I honestly stopped even trying any carrot cake because all others just failed. That was until I tried the one at natures bounty. I would drive out of my way for it. Also, if your in for lunch you can get a pretty nice sandwich. I used to get grilled cheese with grilled tomatoes and onions (or sprouts) for lunch. Good stuff

So the boys and I wen looking for a place to get lunch today. Mommy REALLY needed to get out of the house. We have been by this place several times, but it closes earlier in the day. I got the chicken salad sandwich and macaroni salad for the boys along with and iced tea. Walking in is always fun with the twins and gentleman actually stopped and opened the door for us! bonus points right there! The organic apple and chicken salad sandwich  on organic bread was heavenlly. The boys didn't really like their salad, it was a little heavy on the mayo but thats ok in small amounts.I think what impressed me most was how friendly the staff was and how relaxed it was in there. This is the kind of place i will frequent. the had such a variety of smoothies and "healthy" goodies. Plus I found vegan food for my sis, when shes in town another bonus. Good job Natures bounty!

We recently had a work party catered by them and although the food was very tasty, we were short on food, which surprised me because when we had the event quoted, Nature's Bounty was told exactly how many people would be attending.  Both the potato salad and salad needed to be doubled and the cookies & brownies we received were the size of a quarter, thus we had to go to Lucky's to buy more desserts for the attendees.  I've had events catered before by other companies, so I have a realistic expectation of how much food to expect for a certain amount of people.

This little Financial District-style lunch place somehow landed in an empty stretch of Antioch.  They make specialty sandwiches (e.g. kurobota ham, carne asada) , breakfast burritos, great lattes and smoothies, and have some bubbly folks who work at this homey place.    The breakfast burrito is damn filling and I'm glad they run out because they weigh about a pound. It's a nice little oasis where locals sit down, read the Contra Costa Times.    A little pricier than your run-of-the-mill place, but worth it.   The owner smiles at you and she works hard, along with the staff.
