My dog eats Pure Vita - Grain Free Salmon. She has a sensitive stomach and this food seems to be the only food that can make her poops solid! My boyfriend first found out about Pure Vita from Natural Pet.
The service here is great. When we went back for a 30lb bag of food, they ran out, but we were given an excellent discount. A normal 30lb bag costs $49.99, but we received 5 5lb bags (25lbs) for $40, which is great since they are in individual sealed bags, so the food stays fresh longer. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for great holistic food for your pet. -

This review is for Natural Pet's delivery service only. I have not visited the store.
After a lot of research, I chose Acana to feed to my puppy based on the appropriate calcium phosphate levels until she grows older. Unfortunately, none of the local pet stores that I've found thus far sell Acana. After further searching, I came across Natural Pet SD's website which said that they offer free delivery service to the San Diego area.
I gave them a call and asked if they delivered to La Jolla which they do - awesome! Apparently I called the driver who was just doing a delivery, and said that he would be able to deliver a bag of food within an hour or two. I believe I paid about $59 for the 30-lb. bag of Acana Wild Prairie, which is pretty fantastic considering that they delivered it to me at no additional cost.
The driver who delivered the food to me (forgot his name) was very nice. You can pay by cash, check, and even credit card as they have the iPhone app and card swipe thing, which was super convenient for me. He offered to help me carry it back to my apartment, but I didn't want to hassle him and was pretty sure he had more deliveries to do anyway.
Overall, I really liked the convenience and quick delivery that Natural Pet SD offered! -

Danny and Austin are awesome. They have essentially taken on the corporate bullies of the pet product world, offering great prices, perfect customer service and free delivery. I was lucky enough to visit thier booth at a farmer's market - discovering what a gem Natural Pet is. I am not big on purchasing natural foods over regular foods, but have witnessed a big improvement in my cat's coat from the change to Wellness products.
In short - everyone should visit Natural Pet before wasting thier money at PETCO or Petsmart. -

Good products with guaranteed freshness, and if your animal doesn't like it they will take it back. I went through a small nightmare finding the right food for my very allergic dog. They were very kind to help. They will match prices if you ask quite often. Very nice owners and it is a small local business that we can support!

The staff is.. well.. not really rude, but more indifferent. The store was well stocked, and they had a large selection of unique products. Most all products did not have prices marked on them. When I asked for a price on food it was nearly $5 more than the exact same brand and size at another nearby store. I will not be back to this store.

I had a coupon for a free 6lb bag of Evo dry cat food, and it required me to use it at Natural Pet. I had seen these guys at the North Park Street Faire, and I thought that they were really nice!
I liked the store, and the variety of cat food that they have, but they really need to expand a little, it's really tiny. But I continue to buy my cat's food there, because I like to support local businesses. -

We normally make our dogs food, but with the economy like it is, and prices rising, we've learned that high quality fortified foods may be a nice supplement to the foods we make.... besides our dogs refused to go to Tijuana to BEG. (ingrates!)

They have two locations, one in Hillcrest (805 Washington St.), and the original one in North Park (4535 30th @ Adams). The stores are small, but packed floor to ceiling with pet products (mostly foods), and much of the higher end, healthier foods at that. What sold us was the COMPETITIVE PRICING. Higher end healthier foods are MORE expensive, but Natural Pet will beat any price hands down (and we should know, we shop around.)
What's more, they'll deliver, and offer 24hour customer service....WTF? Just place your order for specialty foods, or medicine, and they'll either deliver, or meet you at one of the stores! (now thats service.) They obviously care about the health and well being of your pet... So check them out: NATURAL PET: Holitistic Medicine, Food and Supplies.
Hooray! Credit cards are accepted and they will continue to order whatever it is you need to keep you as a loyal customer. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. We've decided to switch over! The savings is THAT significant.

Very good prices and the owners really care about the products they sell. I will support them because they genuinely offer good advice and good products at good prices. They can be found at the Little Italy Mercato on Saturday mornings. I think it is worth the trip to Northpark because they will stock the product you want and it is always a few dollars less than Petco or Pet People. It is more than that though, when I bought my dog food at Christmas, they made sure to throw in a free gift of organic dog biscuits for my dog. That is cool and that is why I come back here.
Cool update #1: For those of us who procrastinate a bit...call them early morning on the day you visit the Farmer's Market of your choice and they will throw your bag of choice on the loading dock to be picked up at respective Farmer's Market. These guys could not be anymore accommodating. And let us not forget their unbelievable pricing.Listed in: My Neighborhood

So.......found out about these guys at the farmers market at Viejas on my way to losing my paycheck. Bought a couple of bully sticks, and they didn't have any small change, so threw in a couple more bully sticks instead! Works for me! Found out they have a store fairly close to where I live, so I stopped by to pick up some food for my pup. At the time they didn't have any, so I picked up some dog treats instead. Price seemed a lot higher than I would've thought, so I came back the next day to see if they would pricematch another store I had bought it cheaper. Well, turns out it had been priced wrong, and they shaved a couple bucks off! Definitely great prices as far as I can tell (but they don't mark a lot of their product).
Overall:
-Really nice guys! Daniel and Austin are really down to earth guys!
-Location might be a little easy to miss, and parking is really thin
-They have really good stock of good brands (i.e. Wellness, Innova Evo, Natural Balance, etc.)
Would buy from again! -

Wow, not impressed at all by the attitude of the owner.....so sad because the store looks fabulous but the introduction to the owner left me feeling like I needed to write this. Always treat people as you would like to be treated, no matter where you meet them.

We have come here a few times since adding our "labrapuggle" Dexter to the family. First of all, it's wonderful to have a convenient location right in the neighborhood that carries high-quality foods. Second of all, the prices are very competitive! Lastly, we have gotten nothing but helpful service and honest advice from the owners. I'd be crazy to go anywhere else.

This pet store makes me happy.
My cats can't get enough of their unique toys, like the motorized dragon fly on a string on a stick. Amazing! Healthy pet food with the 10th bag free, exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, great prices and they'll special order your requests.

We love Natural Pet! They have a great selection of high quality natural & organic dog & cat food, a huge variety of healthy treats, and lots of eco-friendly toys(West Paw Design are the best). With the amount of animals at my house, we are here way too much. The guys that own Natural Pet are very friendly & extremely accommodating!

Right now, I'm feeding my Rhodesian a mix of Orijen and Innova large breed puppy food. Having just moved to San Diego, though, I was a bit surprised to find the brands not very easy to locate. Luckily enough, Natural Pet carries both (as well as an impressive array of other great brands). Upon my arrival, however, they were out of both, but not to worry! They dug through storage and hooked me up with samples to carry me through until their next delivery. That is going a bit above and beyond to make sure my Ridgie gets the grub he's growing quite nicely on. And that extra effort is really appreciated. A super friendly place that carries the best grub for your four-legged buddies.

I love these guys! Their store had to close early yesterday b/c of the storm power outage. I needed food for my hungry beast who doesn't understand these inconveniences. Instead of saying "shove it", these guys delivered the food to my house after hours. Excellent customer service and great prices.

I love this store---for one thing, their prices are incomparable. The owner(s) are very well-versed in dog/cat nutrition and always take the time to help me select the best products for my 4 dogs and 1 cat :). They "go the extra mile". Their products are top notch.
I have sent LOTS of people here who have thanked me over and over for the referral because they are so happy with this place. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Oh, and they just opened a self doggie wash in there---it looks great. I can't wait to try it! Thanks, guys (Austin, Danny Ric), for offering the FINEST products at great prices. -

I can understand all the great reviews-----when they are actually open. I'm four for four now. I have gone to the store four times, during "hours of operation" only to find the store actually closed. FOUR TIMES. Yes, I call them and yes they eventually come and open, but for a business to represent a professional environment, they really need to adjust their hours or show up when supposed to. I've switched dog food because they simply are not dependable.
