This place is the neatest find in Texas.  It is a safari where you can drive your own car on pavement for 4 miles through many acres of land where there are exotic animals (many from Africa).  None of them are carniforous so there is nothing to worry about.

We went in the morning during the feeding time (10 AM ish) and the animals were all out near the road.  I suggest going at this time because the animals were very active and hungry.  As you enter, the fee is 16.50 per adult (worthwhile).  There is a coupon on their web site.  They let you borrow a CD (like a tour guide) but I suggest buying the $3 guide which really lets you know and understand what you are seeing.  The CD seemed kind of annoying to us.  They also give you a bag of food, which seemed to be just enough for the entire trip.

We drove very slow and saw so many exotic animals it was astounding.  This was exciting even to the one person in our group who had been in Africa on a safari.  They also let you drive as many times through the park as you wish, so we went the first time then bought the guide at the store (walked around saw some lemers).  Afterward we went back through the park and saw a few other species which were hiding before.

The Zebra were so much fun to feed as well as all the antelopes.
We saw three little ostrich babys running around, so very awesome!

This place is both amazing and incredibly scary. I drove a school bus full of children through the ranch one morning this early summer. It was full of long horns, ostriches, elk, and many other exotic animals that were named but not remembered.

I stopped the bus at one point so that a Long Horn bull could get some feed from the 8 hands out the bus' windows. Boy, was that a mistake. Our guide, who was absolutely amazing, told us to wait for his long tongue to come out and then we can throw the food in. This bull only came to my window and only wanted my food.

After nearly 20 minutes, his horns were just about inside the bus and he was about in my lap. It was a little intimidating, but I think he may have fallen in love with me.

The ostriches are scary. Period. No thank you.  I would go again, but in someone else's car. My cars are too nice to drive through the ranch.

OK listen, I love the concept and perhaps I was spoiled by a previous drive-through wildlife ranch that actually had different types of animals - some I had never even seen before - who were running free; I actually held a baby black bear there, all for about $5.

But for $16.50 you better show me a sasquatch. Not 9 different types of deer/elk, 11 goats who didn't even want to eat the food they sold at the front, 3 pissed pecking ostriches, 2 jackasses, 2 comatose camels who were almost upside down and basically required a telescope to see because they were penned up 1/2 mile from the road and 4 seriously depressed looking giraffes in a pen barely big enough for 5 skinny chickens to actually have a life.

:(

I took my husband here for a surprising anniversary gift. It was raining when we had our first tour, so we drove again when the rain stopped. The animals we saw during the first and second tours were slightly different. Obviously, some animals don't like rain! If you have enough time, you may want to drive twice. A tour only takes about 30 minutes anyway.

Note 1: Watch out for ostriches and zebras. They both stretched their necks in through our car window!

Note 2: We went during the Memorial Day weekend, which is supposedly more crowded than usual, but we only waited in line for about 15-20 minutes.

Note 3: Oh, and don't forget to print out a coupon off the website before you go!

Dont wash your car before you come here. By the time your finished driving through the safari, your  car is covered in slimy gooy animal boogers. Prolly our whole arm too if your one of those people who stick out a hand full of food hoping to get one to eat out of it. Its a fun place to take the family... but when the ostridges come walking up roll up the back windows before they peck your kids eyes out, really! They can be kinda mean, with those long necks stretching in your windows pecking whatever they think looks good. They even have a petting zoo at the end with those kind of baby goats that eat clothes, and also girraffes!!!!
Only downfal is it is HELLA EXSPENSIVE!

This is one of my top picks to take the family to.  Exotic animals coming to your car window looking for food or someone to pet them.  But mostly looking for food.  ;)  you can of course opt to keep the windows closed or if you think you want to feed them, you can buy small paper bags filled with food at the visitors' office before you enter the park.  Just be careful when you have the bag in your lap though!  The little stinkers will peek their heads through the windows and snatch them from you once you have your head turned!  Lol

After you drive through the park, there's a petting zoo with goats and other farm animals.  And watch those goats too cause they'll nip at ya!

This Wildlife Ranch is like a petting zoo on steroids. You get to drive through the ranch in your own car and feed the animals (deers, goats, buffalo. llamas, ostrich, elk)  through your windows.  At first, you'll start by throwing the food out as far away as you can, sure that a velociraptor is lurking nearby. By about a mile in you'll have longhorns and zebras eating out of your hand. Even though it doesn't have the assortment of a zoo you leave without that sad, sick, caged feeling. The whole compound has some of the cleanest and best kept public buildings (petting zoo, bathrooms, gift shop) reinforcing the well worth it entrance fee.
