I have to admit... a few years ago me and my friends used to go to this place every lakers game !! They had hot waitresses and great food, very friendly atmosphere... Now the place has been remodeled, but the quality has gone down!! WAY DOWN.... I was very dissapointed.. the food had no flavor, the prices were jacked up , and the service stunk !
The girl who took our order didnt get me my drink until i got my food.. I dunno about you but when i go to a sports bar i wanna have a few drinks before i eat ...
We had to look for our waitress and than had someone else get us our stuff...
I doubt I will go back there untill some major changes are made...
Okay....yesterday...I had the buffet and the food was GREAT! BUT....Why in the blue hell did it take the waitress 10 minutes to GET ME A FORK????? Also...
There weren't that many people when me and my lady went, BUT...why after 10 minutes of me not getting my fork did 4 other girls come out of the back AT THE SAME TIME??? I would think that they would seperate and help my table and all the other customers!? SH*TTY CUSTOMER SERVICE right there and THERE WEREN'T THAT MANY PEOPLE!!!! Instead, the 4 girls were too busy hanging out with each other yapping yapping yapping...me and my lady didn't even get asked for a drink refill untill after we got the damn check! C'mon now, National's!! I LOVE IT here, the food is great, but the damn service is so BI-POLAR at times, it's ridiculous. Get your ishhhh straight and I will give you a better review and 5 stars.
I LOVE THE BUFFET FOOD HERE, but the shitty customer service ruined it BAD.

A sports bar that refuses to change the channel on one of the numerous TV's that nobody is watching is a major negative.
The food is awful, the servers are very young and inexperienced, the beer selection is lacking, and some of the TV's have burnt tubes and need to be replaced.
This place has gone downhill.
I have been going to National's off and on for over 6 years. The owners are bad (they don't seem to care about customer's needs), management is worse (same), and service is even worse than that!
The owners come in to mingle and see how things are going, yet they never make any positive changes to their sports bar or their staff.
The managers could care less what the customers want or how they need to be serviced.
The servers do not give proper attention or service to most customers, only their "favorites", who they will sit and chat with while leaving other customers unattended. They lost my credit card one evening also. Had to go back the next day to get it. The servers also seem to expect to get good tips even though they give horrible service. I've sat there and watched several servers walk by me for over 1/2 hour and not one of them will stop to ask if I need anything. I usually go to the bar to get drinks before I die of thirst waiting for a server.
The food sucks! Nothing healthy, most of it fried and greasy and overpriced for a sports bar.
The only reason I still go to this place sometimes is because there is no other major sports bar in the Southbay other than Stick N Stein in El Segundo (which i do not care for either). Where the hell is ESPN Zone when you need them???
I agree, they only deserve half a star!
Other than pool tables I am not a fan food is not good.
Oks- finally got in for the game on sunday and well- the place is bad. I remember when it first opened. Lots of hot waitresses, good food- great fries- great atmosphere with sunshine coming in. Now its seedy- like a strip bar- dark and dirty and rundown. SAD!!! The new owners have tried to expand in the nightclub scene at nites. I guess revenues are down but that down???
Food was so- so this time but prices are double than 15 years ago- 10.75 for a club sandwich????? Fries were too oily and not the twisty fries I remember.
I told my bros- take a great look- cause we are never coming back!

I used to come here for the games- Lakers games specifically and it used to have good management.… Read more »
There is a very short list of requirements that a sports bar must adhere to in order to be called a sports bar. This placed seemed to miss on all of them. I will put them in order to give you an idea on how my "experience" panned out.
Beer: There was none. The story I got from the waitress when we first arrived was that there was only Bud Light on tap. All of the other taps (like 6 others) were inoperable/tapped out. This was shocking considering that it was the NCAA men's basketball championship and Dodger's season opener. One operating such an establishment would figure that sports fans might go to a sports bar to watch these events and plan accordingly. Fine, we ordered a pitcher of Bud Light. Pitcher was gone, time for another right? Nope. The Bud Light out now too. Great.
Wings: Cold, undercooked, and rubbery. Same goes for the fries and chicken strips. (and everything took a looong time to get to the table)
Sports: Explain why the game that everyone wanted to see was on the smallest TV?
Service: We get a pitcher with no glasses. Wings with no napkins. And we are generally forgotten about the entire time. We went to the bar (even though we were seated at a table) to get everything we needed.
Pros: Wi-Fi, good looking waitresses. Big parking lot. Enough for 1 star (only because I couldn't give 1/2 a star)
Never Again.
There is a 5th dimension beyond that which is known to man
It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity
It is the middle ground between light and shadow
Between science and superstition
And it lies between the pit of man's fears & the summit of his knowledge
This is the dimension of imagination
It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone
I was in the Twilight Zone last year. August of 2007 to be exact. It truly was the middle ground between light and shadow. The Twilight Zone that I am referring to is the LA dating scene. Spooky....totally fucking spooky.
I took a date here last year as we both shared a love for billiards, beer, bar food, and the innate ability to rhythmically shake our groove thangs.
I remember fried chicken of some sort, fries, and broccoli from this night. The food was so-so, but that broccoli was pretty tasty.
National obliged our adoration for dancing when they pumped up the volume and we strolled to the dance floor. The music was to our liking, but it wasn't loud enough.
She and I resumed this date in the parking lot and that's where our similarities ended. I was searching for the beav, but I was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double.
That short trip to the Twilight Zone ended soon thereafter as she realized I wasn't The Real Thing.
My recent dining experience at National didn't have the same excitement nor intrigue.
Fish something and soggy potato shit was brought to my table along with my trusty Bud Light. Jeez guys, at least make your food look and taste better than that crap served in elementary school cafeterias.
My haterism is taking a rest now.....much love to that parking lot though. Freeking huge.

The fact that I was WAY more impressed with the size of their parking lot says a lot about this place. It's just a National's. It's a fun place to watch a game and have some drinks and bar food. It's huge and has lots of TV's and tables, but beyond that...meh.
Right now they have 50% off any Grey Goose cocktails during happy hour, which goes until 8pm. Our server told us that special will run only until Monday Night Football starts.
The cool thing was that we sat through 3 server changes and not once did we have to close out our tab and start a new one when the new server came, 'cause I hate when you have to do that.

Of course the coworker who is single picked this place for happy hour after work. The server we had was a hot twenty something girl. Really sexy.. After a couple beers she looked like the hottest thing since online porn. The hostesses were cute too if a bit underage looking. I actually enjoyed myself since all I wanted to do was wind down with a little beer and appetizers. They make good buffalo wings and the happy hour prices were more than acceptable.
I don't understand sports bars tho. I wouldn't come here alone or with my wife. I would go again but only if someone else mentions it. It's too pervy for a married guy to choose.
This joint is usually jumpin' around football season, and at the start of the Lakers season or Laker playoffs, so it's a good destination to hit around those times. It's lost its luster though.
This is a great place to come to after work. Thier happy hour specials aren't that bad and I really like this place. While National's has it's ups and downs I for the most still go when I can.
I used to come here for the pro wrestling pay-per-views but one day I was turned away and told they were never going to carry wrestling again. This might of changed since but no biggie.
I thought that the remodel was supposed to make this place better. Instead it's darker, louder and smells like rotten eggs. Their back room once used to have a bunch of booths and tables for large groups. Now it looks like a Tijuana dance club and smells like a sewer. I was just waiting for a guy with a whistle and a shot a tequila to stop by my table. Corona's were 6 bucks a bottle and the food was ok.
I've been there three times since the remodel and I'm convinced it's not worth another visit. The old National's was much better.

Okay...so this place used to be a regular Friday nite hangout with several families. Great sporting atmosphere, decent food, mediocre service and diverse clientele. In the past, Nationals had their ups and downs, staffing and management turnovers. So we went there tonite...and boy, was it disappointing. The service was slow and food was mediocre. This was probably due to the clueless staff and most importantly the inexperienced management. Wow! If you decide to come here, eat before and be prepared to order our drinks at the bar. Management and Corporate, please take note!

I liked this place, but thought it was pricey. I have only been to watch 2 football games.
We always do our Fantasy Football Draft in this location. Experience-wise, it has always been very pleasant and the fact that we keep coming back means that they are a bunch of nice and very accomodating people. As far as the food is concerned, it is quite above average compared to the typical wings and beer kinda' place. The wings are good, dipped in ranch and pretty much all the finger food are tasty and served warm and fast. Just like how it is supposed to be. The only difference is that the service here is really good. Atleast at the times we are there and the staff are always hot! The girls. Sorry guys, I don't look at you bro's like that so I can't comment on how nice you look or how friendly you are. We're good though. Much props. Simply put, if you're trying to find a good venue to catch the game, may it be The NFL, NBA or even NBL... or for any sports-related function, this is the place to be! Oh, make sure you call in advance just so to make sure that you set up a hazzle free event. Other than that, it's all good.

Ok.. this is more like a 3.9 or a low 4, because this place isn't exactly high class. It is a hell of a lot better than it used to be. There was a time when Nationals was kind of a cool place to go to. Then it went downhill, and started to look old, and the patrons seemed to be a bit rough. I was trying to find a particular mexican restaurant close by but I couldn't locate it so my friends suggested that I just pull into Nationals. I cringed at this thought at first, but reluctantly I pulled in due to serious hunger issues. My first observation was that they have an unusually large parking lot. That thing is mini casino size; quasi the Normandy. I guess at one time, they really packed the people into this place, but those days were long gone. I was impressed that they had recently redone the interior of the place, and you no longer felt like you were going into a place that was hip in 1989. Actually, the first thing I noticed was the cleavage of one of the hostesses (me like very much) and then the decor, but big props for updating the place. The eye candy was muy bien, nd fortunately so was the food. When I go back next week, I will definitely be able to lie to myself and believe it's for the food. In fact, I'll be telling everybody I take there that the food is amazing. So, for a tasty burger in Torrance, and plenty of TV's to watch just about any game, I say this place is back on the list.
