National Car Rental

I've been renting from national in Livermore, approximately for the last six months. They're always so professional and have a great selection of cars. Today I was very impressed with a manager who offered a ride back if I lived locally. Also, Steven who gave me a ride back to get my car was so nice and very professional. I highly recommend this business.

The facility is impossible to get in touch with. They refer you to their 888 number, but never directly to the facility to confirm availability. Worst service ever!

Well run National car rental with lots of cars to pick from. The manager followed up with me when I was traveling with the car and that is always a good sign that his shift is going to be well run. Easy to get in and out and car ran great too.

Better than best!! Lily is perfect! Against many difficulties, on a Sunday, Lily found us a great car, and made the transaction fun as well!

I am a frequent renter and National is one of the top agencies. I decided to try this local branch and my experiences have been fantastic.

PROs - CLEAN cars. I believe they get cleaned or serviced at the airport. Either way, the car is always much cleaner than the local Enterprise branches in the area. The car selection is not too bad too. They are limited on SUV/minivans though. The vehicles have relatively low mileage as well.

CONs - Lilly is the only one working at this branch. Service can be slow if she is helping multiple customers. I am surprised how National does not have anybody else to help her. Since this location is close to LLNL, she also picks up renters from there and the office may not be staffed from time to time.

We rented from National a Ford Focus. That Ford Focus, a compact, cost $150? (Enterprise? $95) Maybe, because it was a Sunday. Maybe because its the only rental company close by...but the price is excessive and that is not ok. So, unless you have an emergency, desperate and need to have to a car right away, you will have to dish out some unnecessary money. Oh...and god forgive you if you are late. We weren't, but the "tone" we got for asking about this for sure let us know that we will never again rent a vehicle from this place.
