Nascar Speed Park
2 reviews for Nascar Speed Park
I like this place, but compared to everything else there is to do in Myrtle Beach - there is no real draw for me to return here.
It is pricey and you have lineups to deal with. If you are not a racer, it gets boring real fast (parents, watch out!). The key thing to remember here is EVERYTHING costs money - even a certain track is more expensive to ride, if I recall correctly. There are no freebies here. And on your way out, you have an arcade of simulated races to have your kids to beg you to spend more money on.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea and there are a variety of race tracks. I just don't feel the need to go again.
SLOW service and expensive, but what do you expect in a tourist attraction? This is a unique thing to do when visiting the Myrtle Beach area. After all, how many times can you play miniature golf?
We got here 15 minutes after they opened and spent 20 minutes in line to buy tickets. When you get to where you can actually buy the tickets, it gets confusing. Some rides are 1 ticket, some 2 tickets, but most are 3 tickets (about $6 each). Then not all the kids can go on all the rides. There are height restrictions.
They try to sell you an all day pass which is about $35 which means you would go on 11 rides. You have to wait at least 20 minutes to get on a ride (the kiddie rides aren't bad), and it's hotter than hell, so I wouldn't recommend it. I'm sure they sell lots of those and make big money after people go on a few rides, buy their expensive Cokes, sweat like a pig and bolt.
The car rides are ok. They have warnings about "NO BUMPING" all over the place. On the back of the cars, on signs all over and this lame policy saying that 1 bump is a warning and on the third one you are removed from the ride. I got bumped 3 times and once almost sandwiched. This was on the FAMILY ride and I had the 4 year old with me!
Now I'm all for driving fast and looked forward to doing it legally, but this didn't fit the bill. Too many bad drivers in too small an area for me to have a good time!
