I am a frequent customer at napa valley grille and use their special events rooms and offsite catering frequently with my clients and personal events. My experiences with them have been nothing but perfect.

Dont let the review below scare you away! What you need to know when planning an offsite catering event is that the host of the event must have everything in order to present ( All of your needs and expectations ). That way it will go smoothly and everything will be done in one sweep without confusion. I have had to plan so many events and when i'm prepared so is the caterer.

I am assuming that this was their first event that they ever had to plan and when having a special event catered to where ever you need them EXPECT some charges. When i have food catered from napa valley grille i am charged for a delivery fee and gas, silverware, plates, staff, and any other additional needs i might have and they have to rent. You cant get everything for free. But napa valley grille is my selection because despite the necessary charges their prices on food and service is competative! I have yet to find another restaurant that will cater such great food at such a low price!

I will always give 5 stars for this place and will always keep writing good reviews.

See you guys again soon!

Your friend,
Brenda Sharp

Ps. keep up the good work! And remember yelpers catering is a whole different world than a traditional restaurant experience.

This review is for an off-site catering event.
Food: average - above average
Service:  TERRIBLE

I had NVG cater my wedding at an off-site location and it was mostly a disaster.  Yes, in the end they showed up and the food was pretty good (I think it was average food overall, but good for a wedding), but it was a complete disaster working with them.

I signed a contract with them last year when they were under different management and had a different catering/banquet manager (Terry McAdams).  However, when management changed in January 2009, everything went downhill.  I was in direct contact with their General Manager, Jason Mills, their head chef, Jason Buckley, and their catering manager (at the time, who I think they fired).

It stared when we made an appointment at 11am with the catering manager for a tasting.  We showed up but the restaurant was closed.  Neither the general manager or the head chef knew we were coming and they were completely unprepared.  My husband and I drove up to Napa from SF just for this tasting and they didn't even know we were coming!  Then the catering manager showed up but was a complete spaz.  She told us she was typing our information into her computer but my husband could see her screen with Facebook open and she wasn't even hitting the computer keyboard keys.  It was seriously like some SNL skit where she was PRETENDING to type.  It was so weird.

So Jason Mills, the general manager, said we would be in contact with him moving forward.  And although he kept assuring us that everything would work out fine, he didn't do a better job either.  I would call and leave messages for him to call me back, and nothing.  I'd email him, and nothing.  At some point it was too late to get another caterer for our wedding so I was stuck.  But I could never get any type of response from them!

Even the day before our wedding my dad was trying to settle up the bill with them -- which was really annoying because we were already at our wedding site and didn't have computer access.  My dad had to go into downtown Calistoga and get on a computer on our rehearsal day -- and that's when he found out that NVG was charging us for all this extra BS stuff.  I was repeatedly told that my original arrangement with Terry McAdams would stand, but them Jason Mills tried to add so many additional charges the last few days before the wedding.

I would honestly give them 1 star for service, but I'm giving them 2 just because I'm so relieved that they actually showed up with food on our wedding day.  Oh, and they also gave some guests the wrong dinner (they were giving out steak instead of chicken).

I probably have 100 more examples of how NVG was just TERRIBLE.  If you are thinking of having NVG cater your event, watch out.

And to NVG, I'm sorry I had to write such a bad review for you guys, but you know what you did.  I actually think this review isn't so bad considering the frustration and pain you put me through right before my wedding day.

The Napa Valley Grille is a great spot to grab a bite to eat between stops at the wineries. I had one of the best burgers ever here at Napa Valley Grille!  The Kobe burger was cooked to a perfect medium and the juices were dripping out every bite I took.  This awesome burger was served with melted white cheddar, perfectly fried shoestring fries, lettuce, tomato, and thick crispy bacon.  There was even ketchup, mayo and mustard on the side.  This burger was HUGE!  The thick Kobe beef made it really hard to eat the burger.  I had to cut it in half first to make more manageable.

Over great experience, good food, and good service.  Definitely worth a stop if you're in Napa and looking for a casual lunch.

This was my second visit. Went specifically for the Kobe Slider and Beer happy hour special for $5.00 It was slow, the staff had never heard of such a special, and had to go get the Manager. There was no bartender which I thought strange for a happy hour. So eventually they agreed that they did indeed have the aforementioned special. So it was OK tasting. In the past they also had $5 specialty cocktails which were very good. No, not any more. No bartender anyway so I just got another burger and beer. Strange kind of "going out of business" vibe didn't seem to want to bother with customers. Not worth the drive to Yountville when Napa has many better happy hour specials.

The food here is definitely not comparable to the other fine restaurants in Napa.  I had the Alaskan Halibut and struggled to finish half the plate. My taste receptors were so disappointed that they sent a message to my brain telling me to stop eating! In fact they told me to divide the leftovers among my friends.

My taste buds have a mind of their own, they can be so cruel sometimes. =)

I sampled everyone's dish and got the same result. I was not impressed with the ribeye, tri tip, penne, and spare ribs. The flavors did not induce endorphins in my brain as Napa eateries tend to do. I sat there in utter disdain.

The extra .5 goes to our cute waiter who served us well. He later revealed that he was a police officer who enjoys being around food.  A foodie cop! How can I NOT like him? On top of that, he gave us complimentary dessert-profiteroles. Although free, it was nothing extraordinary.

I went home with a cranky tummy and bitter tooth.

I am not the type that will flat out make a scene or walk out of a restaurant.  If anything, I stay silent, try to enjoy what I can, pay my tab, and then rip the restaurant a new hole via Yelp.  Napa Valley Grille had the worst service I've ever experienced.  I was already skeptical about this place because after looking at the menu by the door, it seemed like the food offered was ordinary, nothing special type of dishes that were ridiculously overpriced.  But whatever, we went inside anyway because we were starving, it was there, and we were too lazy to drive to another restaurant.

Long story short, the place was not busy at all.  I probably could count 10 empty tables in front of us.  However, we weren't greeted by anyone, nobody directed us to a seat, nobody offered us a menu.  NOTHING!  We were invisible.  We stood there like idiots with a smile on our face just so they know that we were patiently waiting.  After what seemed like 6 minutes of awkwardness, especially since a group of the waiters were standing around doing nothing, my guy decided to politely ask for help or atleast a table.  In return, the waiter brushed him off and moved over to one of the table to ask if they were enjoying their food.  After no response we left in disappointment.  We could have demanded for service or made some scene, but the truth was after getting NO HELP or acknowledgment, they didn't deserve our money or our vacation time.

I would give the place negative stars.

The Kobe Beef Burgers are to die for!!!  I've eaten here a few times, for breakfast and lunch and I must say, wow this place never ceases to impress me.  I was there for easter in 08 and they had a special menu from which I had the porkchops in a cranberry sauce and they were juicy and almost melted in my mouth.  I've also had the eggs benedict and it was so fresh and fluffy that it was refreshing.

If your making a trip to Napa, this is one of the places that is a must for anyone to try.

This was a gourmet meal worth paying for!  The chefs print the menu daily, so you know the food is fresh.  I had a white bean & garlic soup, a pork chop with figs on top, a side of roasted mushrooms, and a "to die for" pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.  The pork chop was better than a steak to me.  It was that juicy, tender, and just right.  Best meal I've had in months.  The staff was friendly and very helpful, and the atmosphere was warm.

During a recent wine tasting trip, our guide recommended this restaurant and we stopped in for lunch.

Great drinks, and good service.

We had Kobe beef sliders and a couple of appetizers.  I mean Kobe sliders, c'mon -- how can you pass up on that?!?

My company group of 38 people had dinner there tonight. They had already set up a side room. In short: the service was very good; constant and polite. The decor was elegant and the food was great.

We had a Prix Fixe menu had two choices for the salad: Baby Mixed Greens & Heirloom Tomato Panzanella; i chose the Heirloom tomato and it was a wonderful mix of large heirloom tomatoes slices and sliced very small cherry tomato-ettes with fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil. Beautiful and delicious.

The dinner choices were Salmon & Grilled Kobe Tri-Tip and they were both excellent. The Salmon was perfectly seared; leaving it simple but moist and very delicious, served over large slices of heirloom tomatoes. My Kobe beef slices were served medium rare over grilled green onions  and some herbed mashed potatoes that were possibly the best mashed potatoes in recent memory.

The beef was very tender and moist (as expected)--a beef piggy's dream-- and was also subtly smokey.

The desert was three small tastings of  Lava cake (about the size of a chocolate Aussie Bite), a ginger-spiced bread pudding, an apple tart, and a dollop of fresh cream.

The bread by the way was freshly baked foccacia slices. Again excellent.

All in all, we were very impressed and highly recommend the Napa Valley Grille.

We decided to go wine tasting for one of our good friend's birthday. We started in Calistoga and worked our way down to Yountville. We spent some time shopping in Yountville. It's a really cute and quaint town.

We didn't plan on having dinner there; since we grabbed a late lunch already at V.Sattui Winery.

So, we went to Napa Valley Grille on short notice. We wanted to go to Brix but it was packed. We called Napa Valley Grille and they said we would have to wait about 30 mins. They were very accomadating given that we had a group of 15 people. The hostess gave us a private room and we were able to enjoy the ambiance of this restaurant.

We ordered some drinks in the bar area, so that the waiters can get our room ready. The service was really nice. I'm glad they were able to accomodate our group, especially without a reservation.

All of our friends ordered a variety of food, so we were able to sample everything. I ordered the asparagus and proscuitto soup. My main course was the pork loin chop. The birthday boy ordered the Kobe tri-tip and a salad. All of my other friends ordered random dishes ranging from appetizers to main dishes.

Everything was super yummy! This restaurant is on the pricey side. You definitely pay for the romantic ambiance and great food.  At night, the restaurant is lite up and there's a small fountain outside. I love this restaurant and I would definitely recommend it to anyone heading to Napa.

This was recommended by a friend. I wasn't excited as I have my own restaurants that I like to visit while in town. While I would say it was the wasn't best in town, it did surprise me. I had a rib-eye in a cab reduction sauce. The food was very tasty and the wine list VERY reasonable as it compared to other restaurants. This is a solid choice for dinner while in Napa.

After being starved  for a while and looking for a decent place to eat my friend and I decided on this place. I order some Ca chicken salad wrap and my friend ordered ahi ahi sandwhich. Meh it was okay I just felt like this place was trying too hard for what they had. While the food was ok it was not something that stood out to me. I don't think I would go back again.

This is a nice resturant not amazing. You do not need to dress up fancy, but don't come walking in without shoes. The Hosts were very friendly and seated us promptly, the service was on with drinks and food. We had an amazing artichoke fondue appetizer. The crab cakes and the calamari were not so amazing. I forgot what meat we had for dinner... It was the only meal "for two" with a big old bone and a lot of meat on it... It was very tender and delicious.
The desert was incredibly yummy. It as some kind of cheese cake but not a normal cheese and I also ordered a caramel apple martini, eoy it was soooo good and got me good!

OOO Best part is they did not charge us a corkage fee for bringing in our own wine...

I probably wouldn't go here again if it was my choice to eat at a nice resturant.

I organized a brunch for a bachelorette party here and I highly recommend going here if you have a big group!  I worked with Terry, who was really helpful and communicated well!  She wasn't always available when I emailed or called, but she would definitely get back to you within one day.

I reserved a private room for a nominal extra fee and it was all situated for our arrival.  There was a large table set up with a menu at each seat specifically highlighting my friend's bachelorette party - what a sweet touch!   We had one server all to ourself, though towards the end he did seem to get busy and we had to hail him down to get our bill since we had tasting appointments to get to.

The food was delicious!  I had a great chicken salad wrap.  The fondue appetizer and bread was yummy too!  I recommend this place because the prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious!

Thanks to Terry and staff for helping plan and execute a great brunch!

Great place to take the SO after a day in the wine country...very casual, very good food, and some excellent wines (who woulda thunk?).

They also have a larger room good for large groups, and handle said groups incredibly well.

Highly recommended while doing the wine country thang.....

The future MR. found this place about 2 years ago and decided to randomly surprise me with lunch here one Saturday afternoon.  Since then we've been back MANY times, this is our personal, FAVORITE restaurant.  I have no complaints whatsoever.  The staff is nice, the food is GREAT and I/we never leave unsatisfied! This place is more about quality and taste than quantity, so if you're looking for bigger portions this might not be the place for that.  Not saying they serve small, it's actually just right but with their taste & quality, you don't need bigger portions to be satisfied.
As an added bonus,  I love the Napa Valley Soap Company handwash they use in their bathrooms...just wanted to throw that in there...=)
All in all the place is great, the atmosphere is very relaxed and intimate, the staff is always nice...you'll enjoy!

My first trip to Napa this weekend.

We stopped here first for a bite to eat before the wine tasting.

Fantastic service and very on the ball!

We started off with the Vineyard Ice Tea. Great drink. Light and refreshing.

They also served us warm focaccia bread. Delicious!

I ordered the half of Chicken salad wrap which came with a side spinach salad and spinach soup. All very good.

My friend had a pork sandwich and that was very good also.

The best part of the meal was the dessert. We decided to share the Valhora Chocolate Lava Cake. AWESOME! It's served with a vanilla bean gelato, hazelnuts and an orange sauce.

I would definitely come back here again...

We went for snacks because we had previously dined at the San Diego Napa Valley Grille and loved it. Unfortunately this place was not as good - the service was extrememly slow, bordering on non existant. Part of our order was forgotten. I would excuse this if the waiter told us he forgot but he pretended that waiting more than 30 minutes for cheese was the norm.  Otherwise, the food was good. We ordered calamari and a sampling of cheese/fruits plus wine. We then waited for almost 30 minutes for our bill. To add insult to injury we ventured out to find that Bouchon was mere minutes away. Ouch!

I started off my "Wine Tasting in Napa" adventure with lunch at Napa Valley Grille. You know, we all need some kind of food to soak up the hours' worth of vino we'll be drinking, right?! Good thing that the food was excellent and a great way to start of the day!

My friend and I shared what I believe was their Harvest Platter, which was an assortment of seasonal cheese, meats, chutneys, and fruits. The combination of these ingredients on the palette (all fresh too) were fantastic. They would have paired with wine really well (I think this platter is intended for just that) but we were saving ourselves for the wineries! Still, it allowed me to really enjoy the food, and enjoy I did!

Next I got a taster plate, which included a small mixed green salad that was really light and refreshing after all that cheese. But my plate also came with a mini Kobe slider, which literally melts in your mouth. It's perfectly cooked and the combination of cheese and some grilled onions are flawless. For what is essentially a mini hamburger, you can't get better quality elsewhere.

If you're in the area and want a pre-wine tasting meal that starts your day right, go to the Napa Valley Grille!

I think this place used to be BRIX before they changed the name to Napa Valley Grille.

Our family ate outdoors where they had rows of fresh herbs, etc as part of the view.

We went here for my sister's HS graduation.

Memorable dessert was the Lavender Creme Brulee.

Everyone had filet's except for my daddy which had a ny strip I believe.

Great food regardless.

Neat place with a modern decor.  I've only eaten lunch here and they do three different soup-salad-sandwich combos for $15-16.  There's the Mini Kobe Burger, the Dungeness Crab Melt, and the Leg of Lamb sandwich.

These are all really good and a great value.  I can't speak for dinner but fr lunch the Grille comes highly recommended by me.

Tried this place last night after we tried to get into Mustards Grill.  They had an hour and a half wait so after a quick look on Yelp we went down the road to the Napa Valley Grill.  They were pretty busy (Sat 8PM) but had a few tables.

Overall good.  We just had a light dinner and a few glasses of wine.  We weren't that hungry so we split a salad and the salmon.  They brought both items on two plates without even asking in equal portions and presented nicely.  wow.  Seems so duh but I know so many restaurants have such issues with people splitting things.

Both were very good.  The staff were very nice and the waiter even apologized for the food taking so long when I had no idea it was taking a long time.  We weren't in a hurry and it really wasn't more than 15-20 minutes after we had sat down we had our entree.

Dessert looked grand but we just weren't hungry.  Great place though.  The prices seem a bit high but I'm sure it's worth it.   If they were anything like our salmon then for sure.  Plus great service.  Zero attitude.

Would totally go back.

on our way back from the wineries we got the munchies so we stopped here...

"kobe" burger was delish and their house curred pickles are crisp and full of tang!!!

the ravioli was ok... if you are going to have a creamy mushroom filling in the ravioli then a red sauce would have been much more fitting than using an alfredo... cheese on top of cheese was a bit over powering... but having it be made in house is a plus...

the desserts are more unique and seemed to be where the chef put in a lot of thought...
the snickers... a huge "football" of fudge with some crushed toffee and sea salt made a great balance... it was supposedly the chefs version of a snickers bar...

over all, not bad, but im sure there are a lot of other places to check out before i become a repeat offender here...

...originally i wanted to eat at mustards grill, but their kitchen had burned down...

Extremely good Kobe Beef burgers (note, not Kobe Beef "styled" like they serve at SINO in Santana Row ....) and the best crab melts you can find. Definitely a great place for lunch and the outdoor seating is so nice in the spring and summer.

They also have a summery drink, very much on the citrus side but delicious nonetheless and their Easter menu for brunch is awesome. I've never had such a refreshing tasting egg benedict.

Recently rented the entire NVG rear house and hosted 60 guests from the EnergyCredit Risk business recently.  The NVG owners and managers and servers could not have been nicer.  They were able to get a small family vinter to host a tasting, then lots of us ordered the wine and shipped it back to our homes around the world. The Chef Owner - procured and prepared a very special organic salmon, same for the US grown Kobe beef, and increbible desserts and wines for our guests.  We were all there for the annual http://www.IECA.net conference. Our clients wrote me thank you notes and one lady from Shell Energy North America even sent pictures of her food.  Napa Valley Grille - the perfect place - the perfect food - the perfect event for your most important clients.  Thank you we will be back.

Venison, oh deer, it's gooooood.

I'm sorry Bambi, but the way Napa Valley Grille is able to cook you up - is nothing less than spectacular. Believe me, I felt bad during every tasty, succulent, tongue tantalizing bite. No really, I did.  I felt absolutely horrible...

My experience took place about a year ago, before my Celiac diagnosis. However, it was a memorable experience. Memorable enough to know that I definitely want to go back and I definitely want to find out if they are gluten-free friendly.

I do remember the service was very professional, polite and prompt.

I also remember the salad before hand.. wow, that thing had some serious taste and a little kick at the end. A great precursor to my soon to be new lover - the venison from heaven.

Call me a hick, but I had no idea they had mini-brooms for table crumbs. This was the first place I'd ever visited that had a little broom that cleaned off the crumbs and excess goodies that managed to fly onto the table cloth.. Pretty sweet stuff. Ohhhhh stop, stop laughing, I'm a simple girl... like you never were shocked by a mini table broom... pahhhhlease.

Anyway, I'll go back soon, just to verify if it is or isn't gluten-free friendly. I especially want to know if I can get that venison to be gluten-free. Oh, I would be the happiest gal alive.

One more thing, the bathrooms passed my usual inspection test. Clean. Spacious. Airy.

My parents and I, on vacation together in Napa, called around 5:30 to see if we needed/could get a reservation for dinner this evening. The woman who answered the phone said that we didn't need a reservation and to just come on in. So my dad and I finished our glasses of wine and we got ready for dinner, got in the car, drove there...only to be told that they were completely booked, had been for some time, they couldn't fit us in, and they couldn't imagine why we had been told we wouldn't even need a reservation. No apology.

Dear Napa Valley Grille,

Get your shit together. I'm not fond of wasting my time and then being treated like a liar when I tell you what one of your employees told us. I could probably be pretty understanding if the three employees hanging around the hostess stand weren't complete bitches, but since they couldn't scrape together an "I'm sorry" between them I can and will hold a grudge - don't be expecting my patronage.

Love,

Me

My friends and I planned a wine tasting trip in Napa, and of course, you shouldn't drink on an empty stomach :). So we picked Napa Valley Grille to fill our tummies before enjoying the yummy wine that Napa has to offer.

We were seated immediately (I believe because they just opened). We were told that the menus were printed daily to include the specials (which I think is pretty convenient for the customer). There wasnt a huge selection of food, but everything sounded pretty delicious. I ordered the salmon (I believe it was Grilled Atlantic King Salmon). It came with pearl pasta, a lemon foam sauce, roasted tomatoes, and some sort of baby lettuce (sorry, I am not familiar with lettuce, haha). It was VERY good. The thing that impressed me the most though was not the food, but the presentation. Everything was placed perfectly, and the lemon foam was topped over the plate and salmon beautifully. The salmon was very good and the pearl pasta was even better. I'm not sure what sauce they used, but it tasted buttery and light; I enjoyed it very much.

The only thing I did not like about the restaurant was the service. It may have just been our server, but she was very fake and forced. I enjoy meals with servers that like to serve and share their food with the customers, not those that act like they are forced to like you. At one point in the meal when the server was explaining my friend's Harvest plate (a variety of fruits, cheeses, and meats), my friends giggled and a little because it was a great deal of information to remember, and the waitress proceeded to give my friends a weird/annoyed look, which I thought was unnecessary. She also overcharged me almost twice the amount I was supposed to pay, but of course, fixed it after checking the menu herself.

I really enjoyed this restaurant, but the service bugged me a little. Maybe it's just this one waitress, but the service is the reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I do recommend it to all you Napa visitors, the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food that you get (we went for lunch, which was in the price range of 15-20 dollars). I just hope you don't get that tall red head! :)

Since I live in Napa County I venture up to the Wine Country often and I have driven past this place each and everytime and now I know why.

I did enjoy the friendliness of the hostess and staff.  Chef puts out a new menu daily so the specials are the menu and the bread was delicious.  The Lavender Margarita was the most unique cocktail I have ever tasted and completely puts you in a Napa state of mind. Our salad with strawberries, almonds and yellow beets was Delicious and we should have stopped there and the experience would have been 4 stars.

On the other hand, the interior looks a bit run down and dusty. From the water spots on the ceiling to the cob web over my head, I was a bit disappointed.  I'm not one who really likes to share my moments with a bunch of tourists and we had some of the most horrible visitors sitting around us who didn't help the situation at all.

That combined with my heavily  peppered, dry pork loin and lamb sausage frattata were the things that took it all down to 2 stars.

Check out other spots for a more enjoyable Napa Valley dining experience

Their lava cake is TOOOO DIE FOR.
I came here on the occasion of a wedding rehearsal dinner. We were in a private room and the place was simply set. Nothing fancy, but nice nonetheless.
There was 2 options for dinner. Vanilla flavored pork with sweet peaches and lentils. Kobe beef with vegetable lasagna and heirloom tomato.
I had the kobe. My word it was delicious. The pairing with the heirloom tomato and lasagna. delectable.

I was searching for a new restaurant to dine out my Fiancee. I came across this place from another website. Since then, it has become our personal favorite restaurant. We do come here occassionally for lunch or dinner.

Each and every visit we make to this restaurant has always been pleasant. The food take some time to be served, but you when you begin to eat, you then understand why it took the time it did. The food is just great! The portion of their serving is small, but the taste and flavor is big.

The environment of the restaurant is very relax and casual. The servers have always been prompt and friendly. They know what type of ingredients on their menu and how it's prepared. That's a nice change to have in a restaurant from time to time.

Kym C. booked a room for her birthday, we had a party of 14. The room is a little off from the restaurant, you get your own bathroom and you can control the music and air conditioner, so it's nice in that you get special treatment. The service was good for the size of our party, it just took a very long time but we can't complain because I appreciated that they brought everything out at once.

I've been to the Westwood location years ago, but you can't get the winery/napa experience like you can at this actual location.

I really liked their focaccia and I'm not really a fan of focaccia, but I kept on eating it. I thought my flat iron steak was just okay, but didn't taste very fresh. The stuffed cheesecake was DELISH! I was excited to order it but was so stuffed from the entire day so I skipped dessert, but a friend ordered it and I just couldn't resist digging in... and coming back for more!

Overall, they were generous and comped the room and birthday dinner/dessert. I felt that the service was nice and the staff was sooo patient. Nothing was outstanding good or bad, but I really wanted to mention how patient the staff was!

I learned that you can dish out crap and still ask for a lot if you have a nice exterior. This applies to people as well.

The "organic pork loin" ($22) tasted like it was a processed frozen patty. The accompanied chestnuts had absolutely no chestnut taste and were painfully dry. How do you take the strong taste of chestnut out of chestnut?! That's like making fish smell like chocolate (without covering it in chocolate).

The Harvest Platter ($16) was significantly better. An assortment of tiny meats, pate, and other stuff. I can't remember, but it was fun.

The service was friendly, though negligent. We had to ask twice for bread, but never received the dipping oil.

As locals I need to say these people take great care of us.

Yes the food is great that is a given, but service is why we love this restaurant!

Bring in a bottle of wine (no corkage for local wines) on a Mon, Tue or Wed & get the pri fix menu.  25 bucks for three courses.  This is the best value in the whole valley.  If you want to, try thursday night, mini burgers & beers for a COMBINED price of FIVE bucks.  I could eat these things for breakfast!

Todd is our favorite waiter, but they are all fantastic.  Don't go in on the saturday nights or you'll be fighting all of the tourists, try the mid week  nights they are much quieter.

I really really liked this place!  Even though it was a tad windy and things kept falling into our plates and wines, hey, it was our fault for sitting outside anyway.

We decided to stop and have lunch here before embarking on our wine tasting journey.  I'm so glad we did!

I ordered the calamari appetizer.  It wasn't just calamari, it was other vegies deep fried (asparagus and broccoli I think) AND calamari, hence the portion was TWICE as big.  My friend had the mussels appy.  We also had tons of bread, wine tasting flights, AND we each ordered their daily combo: a bit of soup, half a sammich, a little salad.  The combos were $16 and they had different combos, and we were allowed to switch our salads around.

The food was superb, just beautifully presented, well-priced, and no-nonsense.

I will definitely return for the calamari appy!  What a great way to spend two hours on a sunny albeit windy day!

A few years ago, we were blown off by this restaurant when we wanted to have our wedding there (The girl just didn't return calls or take us seriously)....

However, the two times that I've eaten there have been great!  The first time I went for lunch.  The second time was just recently, for dinner.  I had the trout which was a 10 out of 10.  Great!

We were there at closing, and could see the chef and employees scrubbing the kitchen down through the glass.  It was easy to see that this company is ran like a tight ship.

A++++

I still dream about the crab fondue from Napa Valley Grille! This was really a great meal. The service, ambiance and food were great and it wasn't crazy expensive like some of the other restaurants in the area. The crab fondue obviously left an impression on me but I do remember that the whole meal was great. The servers wine pairing suggestions were right on! We haven't been back yet simply bc we like to try new restaurants but I would certainly recommend it for great, no frills meal.
