Review from Angela W.
Anaheim, CA
Be forewarned: the following review is not for the light-hearted or individuals with virgin ears.
I used to be a regular at Sameera's in Fullerton since day 1 of opening to the point where Sameera knew me by name and face. Ever since their popularity soared, the quality of services has severely dropped and they continually overbook clients to the point where they couldn't respect reservations at the time you originally book for. I started getting threaded at a different location in Brea but had yet to find a place for brazilian waxes.
At Nanu, their prices are competitive and on par with what I'm used to paying ($35) when I used to frequent Sameera's for a brazilian. It was quick yet thorough. If you drop your underoos for a total stranger, you want the experience to be top notch. And it definitely was. As for the threading, I have yet to try it.
The place is located in a small complex and isn't the cleanest threading salon I've visited but the people are so friendly! It gets the job done in an inexpensive and speedy manner so I'm content. -

I've gone here for threading for the last 3 years, when I first found out about threading. Since then, I've seen the prices for threading steadily rise each year, and just recently, it is now $9 for eyebrows. ): ... that's not too bad a price, but I can find cheaper for equal quality.
Their service is inconsistent, but I come about once a month so my eyebrows are like wild bushes every time. I've had great times here (forgot with who), but recently I've had to ask them to tweak it multiple times. Sometimes, they did a fair amount of my forehead as well, and sometimes they stick strictly to eyebrows. -

I used to a be a regular at Ziba, but they've since become super commercialized and pricey with long waits. No thanks. Saw positive reviews for Nanu's so I decided to check them out. Even better, Nanu's cost less than what I was used to shelling out for Ziba.
I was literally in and out of Nanu's in less than 15 minutes. I walked in and they immediately sat me down. I told her just to "clean it up" but I was still scared she'd do too much. To be honest, it'd been a while since I had my brows done. I was fully prepared for my eyes to start tearing up and for me to apologize for having tears run down my face like the last time I got my brows threaded. But nope, not this time. Painless, super quick, and no tears! :) Annnd, my brows look great. They know what they're doing.
Ooh, and stamp card? Love it! I'll definitely be going back. -

GO TO MADU!!! I go across town for her..
She has fixed my eyebrows in a matter of months. I thought no one could ever fix my brows again.... She's jesus!!! I SWEAR!
They also have stamp cards yeah boiii! -

I love this place, your not going to find better threading and waxing at a better price. All the other places I have been to that cost more weren't any better for being more expensive. Plus they have a check in special and a stamp card!

There's never a wait in all the times that I've gone. I usually go around 6 p.m. on a work day. The place is not very big, but it's really clean. In comparing this threading salon to the "chain threading salons" (cough Ziba cough cough), the decor and overall aesthetics is somewhat lacking but don't let that fool you because the service is great and the prices are very reasonable.
I ask for Madu every time I go in. She is very sweet and VERY thorough. I am not too picky when it comes to my eyebrow shape. (My brows are comparable to that of a banshee - if it had eyebrows.) So really, I'm not one to complain if one arch is "off" or whatever. As long as they are neat and and nicely trimmed, you will get no complaints from me, and as far as I can tell, my brows have been looking better than ever ever since I started coming here. Madu is really great and she seems very knowledgeable as to what kind of arch suits your face.
Good service with good prices. Can't beat that. Also, they offer a stamp card. I think it's something like, pay for 8 eyebrow threadings and get the 9th free. -

I wasn't very impressed with my eyebrows once they were done. From the quick look took in the mirror, they looked passable but not impressive. I paid my $9 and was on my way. Later on stuck in traffic I noticed a few giant hairs were sticking out and thought...how could she have missed those. I was a little annoyed I just gave someone $9 and then had to go home and finish it myself. One side was more roundy than the other which was less than festive. Anyhow it's $9 so not the end of the world. Also they didn't completely destroy them, and I still look human, and will be able to fix them in a month when they grow funky again. Besides, I'm just a regular dude, not a fashion model so weidy misshapen eyebrows won't hurt me so much.
On a positive note it was very clean, and not busy. So I was able to get in and back home fast to fix them. -

This was my first time having my eye brows threaded. First of all, let me say I am a new fan of this as a way to keep my brows in check. Less painful than waxing and faster too. Still not sure how she was able to get my brows looking so awesome with just some thread!
The shop is clean and parking was plentiful in the lot. My only complaint is that i would have like a little runthrough on what to expect, since it was my first time there. I even noted that on the check in form. Other than that, a very good experience. If I lived in the area, I would certainly be back. -

Hurts to be beautiful hahaha jk but man i need to come here more often. these artists bring the pain to my brow area every time and this time took the hair off my upper cheeks as well (facial cheeks lol)
they do great work and pay great attention to detail. friendly person always at the front greeting folks and checkin em out at a timely manner.
i prefer this spot better than the other guys up the street. service is key for me. -

I came here for the first time and had my eyebrows done by Tika. I was sat and serviced right away on a Sunday afternoon around 4. She did a great job. I really like the fact that before she even started, she asked me what I wanted and the shape I prefered. After she did the first one, she showed me the results and made sure I liked it before she moved on to the next one. I have been getting waxed, threaded, and everything of the sort for several years now and this experience was not as painful as some of the other times for some reason. I am happy with the service I got here....I'll be back!

$9 for eyebrow threading + Frequent Visitor Card (buy 10 get one free) = PERFECT!
Ask for Angie- i've tried them all -she is the best. Make sure she doesn't take too much off- she can go overboard on the ends of the eyebrows (just say "keep them thick, clean up only"
Also, don't be offended if they ask if you want your upper lip done as well -they are trying to up-sell you (my upper lip is clear of any hair- even blonde- and she just asks anyway) so decline if you don't need it. Don't feel pressured to do anything else.
I never make an appointment- just walk right in. In and out in 5 minutes. Best time to go- during the week, obviously. -

Nanu is quick and painless - well, almost painless.
I called at 10:30 and they had an opening at 10:45 & I was out of there by 11am.
And for only $35, this is definitely my new wax salon. Good quality & super nice staff! -

I came here because I really needed a quick and cheap place to maintain my eyebrows. I had only gotten my eyebrows waxed once before in my life, and that was at the Benefit counter. While they did a great job, it cost $25, and that is too expensive to pay everytime I need a clean up. I would just tweeze my brows myself trying to keep the shape, however it was starting to look very sloppy. I don't know if it's the tweezer, but my hairs normally break and you can see the root.
Looked on yelp, and Nanu was quite close to work so I went during my break. I walked in and was seen immediately by Tika. She asked me if I wanted my upper lip done too, but politely said no. I wasn't offended or anything, I was just going back to work and didn't want to go back with a red upper lip. I told her that too, and she's like, oh no it won't turn red or get swollen. I still said no, but she kept asking about the little hairs on my lip so I was like whatever as long as it doesn't turn red. Besides, it's only $5.
She proceeded with one brow first, and it does sting a bit but goes by real fast. I like that she let me see it before going on to the next brow and wanted to make sure I was happy with the shape. Once she was done I could feel my face throbbing and I knew it was red. Sure enough, I was right. She sprayed some witch hazel on me but it didn't do much. When I went back to work I had to sneak through the back door and sit at my desk for the rest of the day hoping no one would talk to me.
I still give them 5 stars because this place was everything that I was looking for. They are super quick (there were about 5 ladies there ready for walk-ins), super cheap, and do a very clean job. They also give a frequent buyer card so I will definitely be back, but will make sure I go when I don't have to be somewhere later! Hopefully I muster up enough courage to try their bikini wax one day. -

I usually go to Sameera's Salon in Fullerton for eyebrow threading. However, I needed a quick brow clean up and was too lazy to drive. I came across Nanu Threading thanks to my fellow Yelpers. I walked in and was immediately attended to by Tika. Tika did a great job with my brows. She did one brow first, then will show you to make sure you approve, then she finishes the other brow. Tika didn't rush, she took her time and did a great job. Their prices are slightly higher than Sameera's Salon, but I do plan on returning.

I love Nanu Threading because they are always consistent.
I normally have a new person each time I go, but they all do a wonderful job. They don't rush with the threading. They take their time to make sure everything looks good and they tweeze any stray hairs left behind from threading The price is very reasonable compared to most places in or around Costa Mesa. The women are all friendly.
I HIGHLY recommend this place! -

Outstanding waxing and threading services. The decor is nonexistent, but with such great service and prices, I don't care. Tika is wonderful. She is efficient, works clean and does not rush but does not take forever. The wax used is wonderful; it is very hot but one application is all that is needed to get everything. I get a Brazilian and my underarms done and am done in 20 minutes. There is no tweezing or scissors, but they will groom per your instruction.
Nanu is not for the first timer. For those who are familiar with waxing, go to Tika! -

This review is for the henna tattoo done by Angie. Do yourself a favor and don't go for a henna tattoo at this place.
Angie showed me a beautiful design which cost $25 per hand. The design on paper was intricate and the price was fair.
Once Angie started applying the henna to my hand, it became very apparent that she had no henna skills. The design on my hand did not resemble the selected the design at all! it looks like something a caveman would draw - crude, uneven lines and spatially just wrong.
Needless to say I was not happy that she asking for $25 for each hand. I talked to the manager and said "look at the design and now look at my hand, how is this $25 worth?"
I've had my share of bad henna artists where they take too much time and lack in the creativity department, but this was the absolute worst. She could not even copy the design correctly. Even my husband commented on how bad the artistry was.
To be fair she did reduce the price to $15 per hand but to be honest the work was not worth more than $5. Next time I am getting my own henna cone and doing the work myself. Fed up with incompetent people who advertise themselves as henna artists.
PS: Posted a pic of the henna work -

My first time here and I won't be back. I made myself clear to keep my eyebrows thick and less angular at the corner. The girl did not listen. Yes it was not angular but it was ridiculously round, like a semi circle. Other than that, I never felt so bald in my eyebrow area. It was the thinnest I've seen. I am not pleased! I told her that it wasn't to my liking (in a nice way) and she got defensive. I'm giving them a star just because the service was fast. I could have done my eyebrow for less and with someone who listens and follows directions well.

come here if you want a cheap way to have your eyebrows nicely shaped and cleaned. I decided to come here because it was close to my boyfriends house and also my eyebrows were pretty much getting out of control.
I was sat at seat 4 and it was my first time doing this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I will say though.. sometimes it felt okay and other times it was quite painful but after I looked in the mirror and looked at my new and improved eyebrows, I was happy. They also give you a stampcard so you can eventually get a free threading. -

TIKA'S THE BESTT FOR WAXING/THREADING!! I came in to get a brazillian and under arm wax. I've been getting my under arms waxed for years at several different places and this is the first time I left a salon without feeling painfully sore. I think it was because she was very careful with checking the temperature of the wax. I had no idea the temperature of wax could make such a difference.. Although I haven't had much experience with brazillians this was my second time having it done Tika was extremely efficient I wish I came to her earlier:/ She got every single hair and did not hurt NEARLY as bad as the last salon I went to because of the hard wax and technique used. I left the salon happy, completely hairless with babyy smooth skin barely any irritation at all which is rare for my sensitive skin type. Best experience I've had with waxing & The prices are veryyy good for Orange County so remember to tip!

2 stars. Would probably be 3, but I don't think this place deserves the extra star.
When I first started getting my eyebrows threaded I loved this place. but when I started coming back, service started to get worse. my eyebrows would be slightly asymmetrical so I stopped getting my eyebrows threaded here and just opted to get them waxed at random places instead. it usually costs a little more and doesn't last as long, but at least I have matching eyebrows. -

So, yesterday I was cramming to find a place to get my brazilian wax coz I will be leaving for Miami tomorrow. I went on yelp, for help then I stumbled upon this place, "Nanu" and realized its just right around the corner from where I worked. I called them up and tried to set up an appointment. The person I spoke with said I didn't need to make an appointment and that I could just walk in.
So, when I walked in there after work, they immediately accomodated me. The place is fairly-sized and clean. It probably has about 4 or 5 work stations. Navi, ushered me to the back room. She was GOOD, GENTLE and FAST. I have had my brazilian wax done multiple times before and she is one of the best! She did my brazilian in 15 minutes! I did tell her to be fast, so I wouldn't have time to feel the pain, or to scream. Even though she was fast, she still did a very efficient job.
I will definitely recommend her to my friends and family. And for the price you pay, ($40), it was all so worth it! -

My brows havent looked this great in ages!! I was trying not to touch them cause they are getting to thin, but somehow my lady, Indo, managed to not only clean them up and shape them, but make them appear almost fuller! Even the bf noticed, saying "what happened to your eyebrows? They look cleaner.." I didnt know I was so nappy but I'm glad it was noticeable. She shaped them very nicely. Threading is so much better than waxing, because waxing can pull the hairs out to the point where it dramatically slows its growth in the long run, and its a problem I am sufferring through. Threading does not affect its growth. It was super cheap, $9, and they give you a frequent customer card where your 10th thread is free.

yes, I still love this damn place... I have been going here for over a year now and I wanna say that every lady there has done my eyebrows. I used to go to Angie but not anymore because she messed them up a couple times, they came out a little thin. Now I go to either Indu or Madu. They always make my brows look so natural, and even fixed them when my brows were done too thin. They are now completely grown out and look amazing. I love it here because they are so quick and cheap! and my eyebrows always get compliments :)

Ok sad. I really wanted to like this place but it left me super short of amazing. I got my eyebrows threaded & they're ok, I've had better that have lasted longer, but Novi had tamed the beast. My Brazilian however was...sad. She left me burnt red & numb, wiith more than a few (a lot) strays & she didn't even fully do my bottom. I paid $39 for both. She was nice but I left unsatisfied. ;[ I feel like I wasted my money (which $39 is cheap for eyebrows & a wax) & I hate feeling like that.

Quick, thorough eyebrow threading. Honestly, I don't really see a difference between this place and the other threading places popping up in the Costa Mesa/Santa Ana area- the prices are comparable, the service is comparable, and it's really just a matter of finding an artist who works best with you. That being said, Nanu does a good job for a good price. If I lived farther away from it than I do I wouldn't bother coming here, but it's definitely one of the best places for threading in the area.

Officially a regular here now.
I was looking for a good eyebrow threading studio when I came here, they really hit the spot.
They are really attentive, quick, friendly, and really listen to what you want.
You don't need an appointment here and the walk-in is quick.
When I tell them that I want my eyebrows to stay thick or I just want a clean up, they really listen to me unlike the other place I've been too. Sometimes they will leave a hair here and there or maybe they'll forget to put on antiseptic.
I'm actually willing to do my eyebrows every other weekish because of this place. -

Dollar less than Brow and Beauty. Score!
Ever since I've discovered that Nanu's is right around the corner from Hashigo - it's been on my hit list. So finally after badly needing a brow thread I walked right on in, got sat down immediately and looked at the lady with a blank stare, who in turn also looked blankly back at me.
Brows? She asked.
I barely said yes before she was on her way of threading. I swear it took under 10 minutes. I was in, out and my eyebrows looked fab. I will say though that although I liked the shaping and quickness of Nanu's, The place I go to at the Spectrum does a better, how do I put this, detailing job? She didn't really go back over with a tweezer to get little hairs out, thus here I am a week later with little guys sprouting up - usually when I get threaded at Brow and Beauty it lasts a good couple weeks before I start to see strays.
Or perhaps the weather is making my eyebrow hairs grow faster? Hah.
Either way the experience was good overall, and a great alternative in case I ever need a back up to B&B.Listed in: Color me pretty.

Meh.
Came by here with the yelp coupon (TAKE THIS: it's $2 bucks off!) hoping to try another branch of Nanu. The cerritos one wasn't bad.. and i will admit that it is a lot cheaper than Ziba (totally overrated now).. but I can't say I enjoyed the service all that much.
I think I had the newb. Cuz she was watching tv by the door when I came in. It wasn't that busy and the brow/lip/chin combo cost about 17 - tipped 3 (20 total).
Usually what I rate a threading place on is : (a) they actually remove all the hair, (b) shape the brows properly, and (c) don't keep breaking the string and jabbing me in the eye.
They were a C in all three categories.
I don't really have much hair.. I'm a pretty hairless asian.. just that the little hair that does grow in.. can make me look more angry than i actually am trying to express. She broke the string countless of times.. proceeding to jab my eyeball like it was not there.. and ultimately did an average job cleaning up. The cost is still not that cheap (at least compared to back in the day or the one salon I adore in south oc -- closer to laguna niguel and too far to drive on a weekday)..
but hey.. shrugs.. it wasn't bad.. and i at least left with some expression of eyebrows at the end.
wouldn't return.
probably wouldn't recommend.
i think i would actually pay to go to ziba..
with hopes of keeping my eyeballs. -

I'm still coming here after three years. Anje is my eyebrow lady and I only come when she's working. I don't trust anyone else with my brows now (and trust me, when in Cerritos it's SO tempting to stop at any of the numerous cheap threading places!) besides her. She does such a great job on my eyebrows.

Angie (in chair #1) is amazing!! I'd go to her every couple of weeks to get my eyebrows threaded. Definitely knows what looks good on each person. My eyebrows always look natural and she's the only one I trust there. If it's your first time there, it might help to let her know what sort of shape you want and how much you want threaded just in case...I usually just say natural and more of an arch (since my eyebrows naturally have no arch). Now that I've moved back up north, I have yet to find someone as good as her.
Also, very good price and good overall service. Never have to wait very long either. They also have a stamp card for frequent customers.Listed in: Hair & Beauty

One of the best places I have ever been to for eyebrow threading. I'm very particular about the shape and thickness of my eyebrows. Usually they come out too thin or I dislike the shape whenever I try new locations but here, they really listened to what asked for. Shape is beautiful and I get lots of compliments on them. Unfortunately the lady who did them was on her last day but I'm sure another stylist will be just as good. Thank you Nanu Threading!
