I came back. For some strange reason, (the reasoning perhaps is due to my strangeness), I CAME BACK.

Got the lunch combo again. Got the quinoa salad this time, with 1/2 wrap with hummus. It was actually pretty good, I  must admit. The wrap consists of fresh lettuce and others, plus hummus. It went well together, but the hummus wasn't the focus of the dish anymore.

The quinoa salad is delightful.

WARNING: It comes in extremely small portions for the price you pay.

It was good, but not as flavorful as I wanted it to be.

I got the lunch set with hummus, wheat wrap,… Read more »

In one word, I'd call this BORING.
I like Hummus, but I figured for a place that calls itself a Hummus place, it would have more than one flavor.

That said, I got the chicken lunch special which left some flavor to be desired..
The salad was pretty good.
The service was quick & friendly.

3 out of 5 ain't bad.

This little hummus-based joint has a sort of franchised feel, but it serves up some random things alongside their hummus.  They offer quinoa salad with cranberries and walnuts.  Very salad bar-like, not Mediterranean.

The hummus here is extremely thick and creamy, though nothing special.  It's a bit lacking in seasoning, but it's still mighty tasty and creamy, if you are into that sort of texture for your hummus.

Quinoa salad was... exactly what you'd expect.  Nice, moist grains with assorted components like walnuts and raisins...  Totally not worth $4.

Overall, a nice, cheap selection for a quick bite.  Just don't expect the best or most authentic Mediterranean you've had.

If you don't like hummus, don't bother coming here. Almost everything on the menu contains Nanoosh's fresh and delicious take on the chickpea-based treat. The quiona salad (one of the few things w/o hummus) was pretty good, and the grain was not as dry as it in some other places. The Mediterranean salad is basically Israeli salad, but with some mint and parsley.

The restaurant itself seemed like a really nice fast food place, but with servers. It seems they do a lot of takeout food, based on the signs directing takeout customers right up to the counter at the back of the room.

Wow! I have been to Nanoosh several times. I had part of the excellent chicken wrap and the delectable Nanoosh wrap. The grilled marinated chicken in the chicken wrap is mouth watering. The organic lemonade was fantastic. I will be back very soon!

The hummus here is too bland and the pita too fluffy.  Nice decor, and you can take out or eat in, but I doubt I'll be coming back.

This East side location has been open about two months as I write this.
The menu here is simple but appealing. Everything is made fresh from natural, organic ingredients. They also have a small selection of "organic" wines and beers.
I tried the hummus mushroom wrap, made with sauteéd organic mushrooms and onions, hummus, tahini, and greens. Very nice. This was served with a side of quinoa salad, made with bell peppers, onions, raisins, cranberries, walnuts, parsley, cilantro, extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice. it was delicious. I also tried my wife's lebane wrap, but I liked the hummus better.
I finished my meal with the organic cardomom arborio rice pudding with toasted almonds, which was really good, perfectly cooked and not overly sweet.
There's table seating for about 40 customers, and a walk-up express takeout area.
If you like Lebanese/Middle Eastern food, give this place a try. Ironically, it is right down the block from the Melangé Food Fair, another Middle Eastern place where I got terrible food poisoning, the only business in all my reviews to garner a one-star rating.

So...
Im no hummus expert by far...
actually I've only had crapy/bland hummus.
So when this place finally opened up,.. i went in for lunch. I took my time to decide what i wanted to order. I wanted to make sure i ordered something that will allow me to of course taste the hummus( what they are good at) , but also taste some actual food, to see if these guys really knew how to cook back there.
they had wraps, salads, hummus with pita.
soups,.. and rice ,and other sides.
so I got hummus and chicken with sauteed onions. and 2 whole wheat pitas.
The hummus is potent... Very full of flavor. Even with my 2 modest sized pitas, i finished about half of the hummus they provided. i thought i was going to be hungry. Even half way done , i was soooo fulll... the chicken was decent well seasoned, ( with onions and chicken you can't really go wrong.)..
but ... for some reason , i wasn't running to go back there....
actually i haven't been back since. I was just so full, and the hummus was just so strong .. I finished the other half of the hummus a week later. It was just to heavy for lunch. Which was a turn off. i guess...
They had an interesting drink list ...

so i think ill try it again , somewhere in may or June...... : /

It's a cute place, decor is inviting - perhaps trying a bit too hard to be hp, but I should get to reviewing the food. The hummus was ok, too heavy for my taste, and i thought a bit generic tasting. IYou get a huge amount, and could actually split it with someon (but not enough pita), which makes for an awkward pairing. I also got a hummus wrap w/ chicken on another occasion, it was very very heavy, and as another poster remarked, too heavy. It's a difficult place to like, but I don't hate it.

I discovered this place while visiting a family member at nearby NY Hospital. I've been a fan ever since. Their hummus is truly exceptional--creamy, delicate and presented beautifully with a bit of paprika and olive oil. The hummus is made with organic chickpeas. I've been there three times and I've only had one dish, the hummus with fava bean stew and tahini (it's so good I haven't wanted to try anything else!)  I get it with the whole wheat pitas which are pillow soft, fluffy, and delicious. They also serve Virgil's Root Beer which is outstanding.  I have sampled many varieties of hummus (and make my own) and I can tell you that this is some of the best I've had anywhere. Lastly, the portions are generous. The hummus/fava bean stew dish is enough for two meals so the prices are quite reasonable. I will be back for sure. I hope the one on the west side is up to the same standard.

Just got take-out from the west side Nanoosh and it's every bit as good as the east side loc.
