Vicki runs a great nail salon here, and I have been a regular for about five years. Most of the gals that work there are talented, they are open long hours (until 8 every day but Sunday) and they have the massage chairs for spa manicure/pedicures.

They actually OWN and USE a pair of sterilizers on the cuticle nippers and so on, unlike a lot of places. They also have a towel heater that they use to warm the towels they use after the hand and/or foot massage you'll get as part of your service.

I had acrylic nails for over 2.5 years and always got them taken care of here. I got lots of compliments but did eventually get tired of the upkeep... I'm just too hard on my hands for this to be practical for me, but that's not their fault. :-)

i didn't really have time to run to jana's in kirkland, so i did a quick yelp review and decided nail dsign sounded good enough to try.

for 32 bux i got a full mani and pedi.

i have to admit, at first glance, from the outside, the nail salon looked so generic i got really scared and wanted to leave. but i braved it up and went in.

i picked out my colors and sat down in a chair. one girl did my feet while another did my hands. it was definitely a little luxurious. yay. go nail design. they were extremely friendly and knew what they were doing.

the only thing that makes me wanna minus one star is because i dont really know how sterile all their equipment is. there were brushes and otehr things that were "washed" and set aside for the next use by just soaking and cleaning in the water my feet had been soaking in.

now i dont consider myself a walking container for ahtletes foot or something, but i just had to wonder about their cleanliness practices.

other than though, the heated towels are awesome. so was the massaging of my hands and feet. i felt so relaxed.

it seems they knew most of the other ladies by name. a lot of "see you next week vicki's" were being passed around.

all in all, a better than average place for you to go get your nails done for cheap. my mani is already cracking 4 days later, but my pedi is surviving very nicely.

oh and they do these great nail designs. really. i didn't get one or anything, but i thought the girl doing my mani had put a sticker on her nails. it turned out to be painted. it was really impressive.
