Review from vanessa v.

It's impossible to go into Nahcotta and NOT buy something. Seriously, try it. You can't do it.
They carry a well curated selection of nice household accessories (platemats, vases), local kitsch (screen-printed t-shirts), local art and jewelry, and some furniture, rugs, etc. So no matter what you walk in here for, you will find something else you end up buying anyway.
Last time I came in, they had a whole Jonathan Adler section for 50% off... amazing. And if I had extra money to burn on art, I would come here first.Listed in: life in the seacoast

Review from Susie G.
I've shown art many times at Nahcotta, and I've bought art from Nahcotta as a customer, too. I have to say, they run their gallery and shop so incredibly smoothly, professionally & with such a friendly and positive attitude...
Their Enormous Tiny Art shows are about as fun as it gets as both an artist and art buyer. Their site makes it easy for someone like me (way on the other side of the country) to be a part of the action as a buyer.
I just love Nahcotta. I treasure the artwork I've purchased from them and I really feel like every time I work with them, I'm dealing with friends. It sounds like I'm not the only person who feels that way! Long live Nahcotta! -

I happened to find this store after having breakfast across the street at the Friendly Toast. What an amazing gem! They have a gorgeous collection of art and beautiful things for your home. I fell in love with a series of painting, although I was unable to purchase it this time around, and happy to discover that they curate many different artists and their work on a website http://enormoustinyart... If I lived in the area, I would definitely visit more often.

My home is now filled with some great art after living many years in Portsmouth. In addition to paintings, there are books, gifts, home accessories, some furniture and jewelry. While I love the paintings, it'd be great to see some sculptors every once and a while...

Review from Tommy P.
Portsmouth, NH
Let me make this quite simple: Nahcotta is the reason we moved to Portsmouth.
"Tommy, are you SERIOUS?"
Why yes, yes I am, actually. We came up to one of the 'Enormous Tiny Art Shows' and fell in love with the gallery. I feel like this place represents everything that we love aboout Portsmouth as a community and a growing arts hub, and spending the evening there was enough to make us pursue living here.
We love the monthly gallery changes, and the ownership (Deb Thompson) always goes out of her way to assist - she is obviously someone who really cares about art, artists and art lovers equally. Great prices (surprisingly) plus a fantastic, ever-rotating selection of totally unique art. -

I have purchased furniture and household items from Nahcotta and found them to be incredibly helpful and nice. I also enjoy stopping in to see what they are showing. I would give 5 stars if I always found something on the wall that I actually wanted to buy and take home, but perhaps I should be satisfied by always finding something interesting.

Never a dull moment!
I love this shop. I have bought many beautiful Angela Adams rugs from them for my home. My husband goes there for me for Christmas and NEVER strikes out. I LOVE IT!! The owner is so nice and helpful. -

Who doesn't like Tiny Art? Only the soulless I suppose...
As my wife said to the owner of the place, "This place makes me happy." Me too, actually. Lots of great tiny pieces of art and lots of cool little items with great contemporary design. When in Portsmouth, we always stop by, and usually walk out with something. -
Review from Don W.
A Portsmouth Art Gallery. On the second Friday of every month, some of the local art galleries have a reception from 5 to 8 PM, and there's usually some kind of theme to what they're doing. I'm going to get a list together. There's a lot of art galleries in Portsmouth and I like that. And did I mention that there's free wine at these receptions? That's what they tell me.

Review from Mi M.

Part art gallery, part gift store, owner Deb Thompson has built a reputation and is attracting more established artists and artisans to the gallery. Nahcotta offered paintings, photography, furniture and gifts (such as purses by local designer Angela Adams). If you're in the area, you *need* to drop by!
