This is a pretty good water park consisting of about 5 water slides, a wave pool, a toilet bowl, & lazy river.  It's a great place to spend the day for all ages.   Admission price is a little steep at around $30,   None of the water slides were extremely spectacular, nice and smooth speeds.  

The toilet bowl was fun, but it made me feel like crap.

While swimming in the wave pool, a woman walked up and threw a baby straight into the deep end.  I was horrified.  She should have thrown it in the shallow end.  

Well, it was a plastic baby doll, and the lifeguard did not respond quick enough.  She was immediately removed from her life guarding duties and cried all the way out.  I felt so bad for her, but I also felt safe, knowing that Myrtle Waves trains their lifeguards to the strictest of standards.

Myrtle Waves is smart because they built their water park where it's clearly visible from the highway.  Every kid stuck in the backseat going down 17 is going to see it and start to beg to go.  It looks so huge and amazingly fun, kids won't forget.  They will ask and ask and ask.

Living in South and North Carolina and Georgia as a kid, driving through Myrtle Beach and past Myrtle Waves was part of a lot of our road trips.  Eventually, we were good and our parents agreed to take us.  My dad loved this place as much as us.  M dad and I had a plan for one ride that was two blue tubes that roped around each other like they were braided.  We timed ourselves in line so that we could go at the same time, and jumped into the tube at the exact same time!  It was awesome!  We had the best time, and went back a few other times, too.  It was super fun!
