Review from Chandler P.
Hollywood, CA
Easily my favorite flower place in LA. Incredible customer service without the "I'm Oprah's florist" pricing. Always a fresh, unique and beautiful selection, I find My Secret Garden my go-to florist when I need that extra special bouquet to really wow someone. I especially love their random selection of greens to add fullness to any arrangement. The brown paper packaging tied up with string (pun intended) is a wonderful touch.

My secret garden has a great selection of flowers, and the service is helpful. I've been there twice before, and will come back very soon!
The prices are fair, and the quality is high (which is important of course...) -

We had a week to plan our elopement, I knew this was where to get the flowers, for pricing, location, and a decent selection.
I'd gone here previously for decorating my Thanksgiving table since my now-mother-in-law is a sucker for gladiolas. I was pleasantly surprised when they sold me a super-tall glass vase for $15. I expected $30-60, especially on a holiday.
For the wedding, best friend/officiant and I came to this little ivy-covered building ( in a Rite Aide Parking lot) and we browsed around. We got a nice mix of tulips, orchids, cala lillies, roses, and white kale, and the owner wrapped them up in raffia really nicely, gave us pins for the guys, wrapped mine with ribbon to make it bride-y, and didn't overcharge us. I got the entire party's flowers for around $50.
Husband says he used to buy his girlfriends "Last Stand" flowers here (the relationship phase where you know you're about to break up but you still want to seem like you're trying). He won't have to go there anymore for that reason, but I'm hoping he'll go again for his Wife Appreciation Flowers ;) -

Hillhurst Florist was half the price! I cancelled my delivery from here . They charge $12 to go 5 blocks! Way too high priced.

I have been a customer of My Secret Garden for over 5 years and used them for my wedding recently. Anytime I need to send flowers in Southern California, I use them. They are very well priced for the service they offer, which is always gorgeous, gorgeous flowers. I don't send flowers more than 5-6x a year, so when I do I want the person to know how much they mean to me. Toby, who is the owner, totally gets this and her designers have never let me down. When it was time for my wedding, I only looked to her. She worked off of an image I found and was able to create bouquet/arrangements that exceeded my expectations. I was willing to make an investment in the flowers but emphasized that I didn't want to spend exorbitantly. Toby, to my delight, worked well within my budget. I could not recommend My Secret Garden enough!

I love this place! It's right next to my high school so I can easily buy some flowers for my mom's birthday or mother's day. They do the flowers in such nice pretty arrangements and the brown paper they use really makes it look natural! It annoys me to see flowers in plastic wrappery things. It looks really processed and this place makes the flowers look really natural!
All the flowers are gorgeous and the price is okay!
I always get the white pompoms and then add two or three fancy flowers. Always so pretty and perfect! -

A friendly and solid local flower shop located in between Thai Town and Franklin Village. Nice folks, decent (slightly high) prices, but quality products. When you're in a pinch, this is a good place to go. None of those super tacky supermarket bouquets here folks! The only reason why it's not 5 stars for me, is because I'm a fan of buying flowers at wholesale prices from the Downtown LA Flower Mart. Other than that, elegant selections and quality service!

When I was in college I used to deliver flowers on the breaks for a neighbor who had a shop. I became enamored with flowers and promised myself once I reached a certain income, I would have fresh flowers in my home at all times. Kind of like Elton John.
The staff here are always ready to take my selection of flowers and turn them into a masterpiece. Yesterday, I handed the flowers I chose to the guy behind the counter. He opines, here's our card, next time call the arrangement over the phone and we'll have it ready. I translated that to mean "dude your flowers suck don't pick them out, call us" but I took his card.
I brought them to the colleague who was leaving at the office.
Next thing I know I am being asked to go back and pick up another arrangment for another long time staffer who had a baby. I was glad I had the card.
Both arrangements were bursting forth in beauty.
The shop itself is a little elegant nugget of flower powered glory.
Makes me want to have more reasons to buy flowers in Hollywood. -

Hi, my name is Eli, and I am a flower addict.
I'll take 'em any way...potted orchids, roses of all colors, fab deco tulips, weird artsy things I don't know the name of...I dig fleurs. I have to have some at home at all times.
Secret Garden is a perfect little oasis smack dab on the corner of Franklin and Western with a remarkable selection for a small space. There's a fantastic rose room with practically every color including the green roses I adore, plus hydrangeas and all kinds of luscious stuff. There are always orchids, and the there are plenty of exotic blooms and cool fillers such as giant horsetail, papyrus, and the like. They are LOVELY in here service- and friendliness-wise.
Go on, bring something home for your honey. You'll be glad you did. -

I have 3 jobs, and one of them is slinging popcorn at the Arclight. Some days, it just isn't pretty.....until I get to the ledge between the cafe and the first floor.
Invariably, I smile, secretly feeling like twirling my imaginary skirts..what is so Alice-in-Wonderful, you may ask? The bouquets, (miniature installation works which may include hawaiian plants with glittery skulls and an oversized bee one week (halloween), and simple daisies and banana leaves the next), tickle my fancy.
My Secret Garden does all of the whimsical museum-quality plant displays, changing them out each week at the Arclight..so, if you'd like a quick look at what they can do, check out the lobby at the arclight.

A fascade that exudes enchantment and an interior that confirms just that. More than a neighborhood flower shop, My Secret Garden is a wonderful place to pickup flowers.

I appreciate that they have unique flowers that I can't find at other places. However, most of the flowers were over-priced and not any better than the flowers I find at the local farmer's markets or at the little neighborhood kiosks. I picked out my flowers and ended up with a bouquet over $30. That was quite a bit more than we usually pay for a pretty small bouquet with nothing exotic. As we were paying, the lady asked if we "needed" her to wrap the flowers - like she was offering to do us a favor... She then proceeded to wrap brown paper around the flowers and close it with two staples. On our walk home, the flowers got a little dry and one of the stems broke because they hadn't been wrapped properly.
The flowers are pretty for this week but we won't be returning here anytime soon. -

i want to premise my review with saying that i have been to this business about 4-5 times before the latest recent visit and they were never worth more than 3 stars; the shop is generally over priced, the girls that work there have lost their friendliness, they are nice only if then know you are going to spend some money, so a few days ago i purchased a dozen roses they had on sale for 16.99, the reason while these roses are cheap is because they are shorter (half size) of the standard long stem ones, fair enough i thought, they were perfect size for my purpose; what they do not tell you is that these roses are going to die in less than 24 hours; I think it is not cool of them to sell you flowers knowingly they are going to fade in less than a day, they are aware of it, they simply dont care once you are out the door and your tab is paid. i am sorry but i won't be back.

This is an awesome flower shop! They always have a huge selection of cool and random flowers, even though some of it is slightly pricey (well worth it.) And they mostly always have sunflowers!
Love it. Worth it. Check it out. -

i love flowers. who doesn't. i love discovering a nice flower shop. who doesn't.
well... i pull into the parking lot of this very mini mall here. i think the only things here are rite aid and the flower store. you know when you pull into a parking lot, and you walk through the closest door of the store you think you're going into? well, this happened to be the back door of the store -- not the front door. but how the hell am i supposed to know that! it's the door facing the parking lot.
anyhoos..... i walk into what i turns out to be the back room of the store, and whew do i get the evil eye from some lady. i try to uhm brush it off thinking ok, my bad, i guess i walked in the wrong door. but the attitude would not let up. you know, i actually came in to get flowers for a memorial. the attitude and rudeness was NOT what i needed. i simply made the mistake of walking through the door facing the parking lot which i thought was the entrance.
left without buying anything. won't go back. -

Wow. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I guess with the diversity of reviews for this place, the customer service really depends on the mood of the person working.
It's early in peony season, but I was looking for some as a gift. Calling many flower shops around LA, I called Secret Garden and this was my interaction: "Hello. I know peonies are out of season right now, but is there any way I could find some?" Response: pause. rudely "um. no. they're out of season." After calling over a dozen flower shops, even if they didn't carry the seasonal flower they were either apologetic or politely put me on hold so they could call their vendors directly. In other words, they were HELPFUL!
I was taken aback by this abrupt and rude response. I said "well, many flower shops that I've called have vendors that start their season early, but thank you for your help anyway" and hung up.
Would not recommend this place to anyone who wants staff that will work WITH you. -

How I want to love this place! Being a flower lover and this being the closest shop to my house I have spent thousands of dollars here. Each time with the hope that the experience would be better the next.
Things they do right...absolutely adorable space. I want to shop there. I love going in. Great selection of flowers and fun fillers.
Here's where they have finally lost me: The owner has been dismissive to me and downright rude to her staff (in front of me) on multiple occasions. The flowers die almost immediately and almost every single time. I just cannot stomach going in there and spending $100 anymore to have the flowers never open or wilt the next day. I can go to Gelsons and buy peonies for less that bloom and last for weeks not 1 or 2 days.
Unfortunately, they are on the end of what seems like a long supply chain, because their flowers simply aren't fresh and simply don't last. Bummer, how I would rather go there than Gelson's or downtown.
Hopefully things turn around for them and I can go back in and not feel like I am just throwing money away. -

This elegant flower shop has a wonderful variety of my favorites! They carry varieties beyond the standard choices you find at generic flower shops/grocery stores. Think hydrangeas, french tulips, orchids, ginger flower, dahlias... They also carry the standards such as sunflowers, mums, roses and lilies... Flowers are always fresh and whether you get a bouquet or an arrangement, you won't be disappointed (I don't think).

This is a great flower shop. The flowers are always in excellent condition and the variety is superb, ranging from New Calla lilies flown in from Holland and roses grown in South America. I have called in requesting a specific flower and the buyer was able to purchase is for me with only a days notice. As a consumer I try to shop at places where the employees know what they are doing and are happy to provide assistance. The employees here are always willing to help and can make great suggestions. I have also sent out arrangements from here and the recipients are always amazed by the type of flowers, colors and how long the arrangement lasts. I have even sent flowers through them out of state. The prices are reasonable and they can help you design something in your budget. Parking is FREE and plentiful if you are looking for a great local flower shop this is the place to go.

Amazing, unique flowers, including "coffee beans" and kale. Just beautiful, thoughtful little shop that is a treat to just step into. Even when paying for flowers, you stand next to sweet birds in a bird cage and flowers heavily discounted for being on their last legs (which is totally worth it if you just want a couple roses on your table for a day for 2 bucks). Owner is hilarious, staff is great. Really love this place.

This place just did the ceremony flowers for my wedding. Everything turned out so beautifully! I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted when I met with the floral designer, Toby. I showed her some pictures, and she totally got it. She had some great suggestions for how to make my bouquet different from the bridesmaids' - different kinds of fabric for the stem-wrap, etc. - that added some unique touches. Everything was ready on time for one of my bridesmaids to pick up before the event. Overall, a great experience working with artistic pros who love what they do.

Gorgeous bouquets, lots of variety and pretty little things, a gem of a small shop. The employees are super friendly, one of the guys even helped me load my scooter onto a friends truck when it broke down in front of his shop! Wonderful place.

Have you ever had a husband who needs help sending a client some flowers? And you're busy at YOUR job trying to get things done... Well fear not, this is the place to call. You can make it simple and say "designers choice" or if you know something about the client [or friend, etc.] give them their preferences. I have several times in the last year and they even work within our budget. SO GOOD to have somewhere where you can go, get beautiful flowers, have excellent, personable service, and know whoever gets the flowers will be thrilled.

This place has been here for what seems to be ages. I remember coming here to get flowers for valentines day in high school. This place now has separated itself from other places like conroys because it bleeds out class. When you first walk in, you notice flowers of a different kind. Some darker, more sensuous, more suave that doesn't say, "Dear, I was picking up some cereal at the grocery store, and I saw these." One of the first questions that you will probably be asked is, what's your price range? And no matter what, they seem to always do a great job arranging it, and wrapping it in butcher paper, which amazingly makes a bolder and more mature statement than plastic cellophane. Take some time out of your day, stop by this place and get the love of your life some flowers, impress her, not with the amount of money you spent on the arrangement, but with the statement that this average Joe, ain't so average.

A friend got married and I wanted to bring her a beautiful bouquet for that very special occasion. My friend and I were charmed when we walked in "My Secret Garden". Everything was beautiful, subtle and well arranged. I like that kind of places. We picked different flowers and different colors. One of the women working there gave us her input and we ended up with a marvelous and elegant bouquet that not only pleased us but my newly married friend as well.

The owner is very rude to customers. She was yelling at her staff about a customer order when I was in the store. That appeared very unprofessional to me. There are little animals everywhere. The staff seems out of it. I told the cashier that I wanted a bouquet for $15 and she ended up charging me three times that amount for what ended up being a over $15 not including tax. She didn't even notice that she overcharged me until I pointed it out. I left the store after they said they voided the first sale and recorded the second sale. When I arrived at my home and checked my bank account I found they had charged my account for two orders. I then called the store to tell the owner that her staff tried to rush me out and that they should take their time. She argued otherwise. Frankly, I have been here on two occasions because of the proximity to my home. Both times they rushed me even when I was the only one in line. Also they used a sub-par recyclable wrapping material, which is not very attractove at all.
