The grooming service is outstanding.  Our Field Spaniel Mix dog was so handsome after Leo took the clippers to him.  His brindle coloring really stood out and we receive many "handsome" compliments from passers by.  Our Spitz/Pom Mix's coat was shiny and silky-soft.

We also adopted a sweet Chihuahua mix from their sponsored rescue group Mixed Mutts and she is so sweet.   Bonus:  we recieved 15% off our supply purchases for our new addition as a thank you for adopting.

When I asked about a particular dog food they didn't have on the shelf, they ordered it for me.  We love the Pet Garden and will continue to take our pets there for grooming and for their pet supply needs.

What should have been a great experience based off of yelp recommendations turned out to be terrible. My regular groomer was booked and after my toy poodle puppy came back from grandma's looking a bit like an overgrown hedge bush, I needed somewhere to give her a nice bath and trim. Called here at on a Saturday afternoon and was a bit surprised they could take her right away. I brought her in at 2:30 and found the store to be cute and with a lot of stuff to browse. Filled out the forms and told them exactly how I liked her cut  to be -  inch, teddy bear, etc etc. They seemed friendly and professional enough so I was psyched! They told me to pick her up around 5-5:30 but not to worry because they'd call first when she's ready.

Fast forward to 6:40 PM- still no phone call, no update and I know the store closes at 7PM. Thinking maybe I had bad reception or something while shopping at Target, I decided to just drop by so I can pick her up. It's already over an hour later than she should have been ready, I should be able to get her, right? When I get there, no one offers an apology, neither the young girl or the older lady that originally helped book us. They just tell us that the previous dog took a long time and they were delayed but don't worry, "The groomer is working on her right now, she'll be done in just a little bit."

We wander the store for a little bit and then after 15 minutes, go to ask how much longer it's going to be. (After all, it's getting late and I have ice cream in the car.) The girl says very brusquely that he's working now, why don't I go look? At this point, the dog the groomer was working on (NOT my dog) has just finished and is getting picked up by his owner. The dog has a cute bow on its tail and looks very well-trimmed. Ooookay, I'll keep waiting. We wander over to see how far along our puppy is only to find that she hasn't been trimmed at all! He's barely starting on her nails! We watch for a little bit, wondering how they expect to finish in FIVE minutes (they haven't told us that it's going to take past 7 at this point).

The groomer finally finishes her nails and then proceeds to start brushing and cutting her fur without having her on a leash. He's holding her by her neck fur as he pulls the comb through her fur with the other hand, causing her to cry out a few times. He finally puts her in a short lead and goes on cutting. I get tired of waiting, with no apology from the girl (who has an insincere attitude to boot) and tell her I'm going to wait in my car. At 7:35, she comes out to tell us she's ready. My puppy does not have her tail trimmed and her face is not neat. The groomer tells me very matter-of-factly, "Oh, he's done for the day. He's started to bite and I don't want him to bite so I'm not going to work on him anymore." He then suggests I can bring puppy back another day if I want. (FIRST, GET MY DOG'S SEX RIGHT.) I'm so caught off guard, I don't know what to say except, "...but her tail's not trimmed." He has the girl hold my dog and does a few quick snips with a pair of scissors- no brushing out, nothing. When I checked later at home, it didn't appear he'd performed anal expulsion as well.

My puppy came home and after we inspected her, we were furious. Not only did they keep her in a cage for nearly 5 hours, which of course stressed her out, he did a rushed job on her. He claimed that they were held back because there were two other poodles in front of her, as if this was my problem. Really, those dogs took 5 hours to trim and mine took 30 minutes? Her fur was not uniform, there were unlevel parts on her head, eyes and her snout. The back parts of her legs were not trimmed, her tail was not even brushed out. The insides of her ears were still dirty.

Total cost? $48 for my 9 lb poodle with teeth cleaning and a "first timer" discount, all of which they made me pay before they let me know my dog wasn't done yet. No apologies, no phone call update when they're late, expensive and an attitude- worst customer service ever. This is worse than getting a lousy haircut because my puppy can't even speak up for herself. She was so stressed after coming home, she had diarrhea for the first time ever. I've never had an issue with her at any other groomers, all of whom love her and say she is very complacent.

Terrible, terrible service here, avoid at all costs!

The employees are very friendly and helpful and the owner is a Pug-lovers, so he's A-Okay in my books!

They have decent prices on non-wheat dog food and I was very happy with the results on the Flee Flea bath service.

This place is super cutesy.  Perfect for your cutesy dog.  I love how they carry Canidae Grain Free, which is what I feed my Westie.  Last time, they didn't have Canidae in stock and I was all out of food, so one of the workers gave me samples until they stocked the shelves the next day.  My puppy recently got his first Westie cut.  The groomers did a great job. Everyone here is nice and the owner is fantastic.  Thank you!

I love this store! It is a small boutique pet store that carries everything you might need for your dog, cat, fish, bird, rodent, or rabbit. They only carry the best food for your pet and are extremely knowledgeable about the care of your pet. They also have groomers on the premises and they even adopt out cats and dogs. The staff and owner are always friendly and helpful.

The groomer here is fantastic!  My maltese loves coming here and her face says it all!  When I came to pick her up, she was smiling and didn't show any signs of stress or worry.  I know my dog wouldn't have this look on her face if she really wasn't happy.  It's nice to know that she found her favorite groomer who makes sure that she goes home looking and feeling very happy=)

They also have puppies for adoption that were brought in through rescue shelters.  Those puppies were super adorable!  Too bad I already have 2 dogs of my own!   If you ever want to adopt a puppy, give them a call and see which ones are available.  I'm sure they bring in different breeds all the time.  The store has cute clothes, toys, bows, collars, treats, foods, etc....all at a reasonable price where they don't over charge.  Prices are comparable to Petco.

Joel is the owner who helped us out with dog sun screen questions today.  Who knew my maltese shouldn't be walking out in the sun for too long or else she'll get sun burned and cause poor vision in the long run?  If you mention about the 25% off for first customers or $7 for existing customers, they'll happily deduct it for you.  We ended up buying a green and pink harness for our two dogs that were 20% off.  These harnesses are super cute and would make your fido look very adorable and stylish!

Don't know much about the rest of the store, but the groomers are great.

I moved to Pasadena from Napa about a year and a half ago and have not found anyone to match my groomer in Napa for my Tibetan Terriers. I have tried a few.

I recently went out of the country for a long trip. When I came back they were really badly matted -- to the point where my male almost needed to be shaved completely off.

I found Pet Garden on Yelp and i have to say -- they were, by far, the best dog groomers I have been to. Christine the receptionist was very knowledgeable when I first called in. The groomers, Donna and Tony, took hours dematting my dogs, then giving them really beautiful scissors cuts. They stayed about 40 minutes after the store closed, finishing up on the dogs.

My male is still pretty short, there was no getting around that with as much matting as he had. But he doesn't have that "shaved" look at all. He looks really beautiful. They both look awesome, and I know it was a LOT of work. These guys really went above and beyond. I'm completely sold.

    Delayed review but definitely due.
Our Shih Tzu's preferred groomer was fully booked and he desperately needed a cut and wash.  I decided to go with My Pet Garden instead of others bc of the reviews here on Yelp... and boy were we disappointed.

Customer Service is definitely a plus here as everyone is extremely friendly, which is why they even get a star... but it really doesn't justify the price for grooming and quality.

Grooming prices are MUCH higher than we've seen.  I was quoted $55 for the Shih Tzu; highest we ever paid was $45.
I was able to use the Yelp discount which was a wash because I was talked into buying the extra teeth brushing services - the owner made said "you're getting the discount so you should add the service"; only to be rung up and told by the cashier that the extra service does not qualify.  When I turned to the owner behind the counter he answered "I only sweep the floors" and some other nonsensical jokes.

When I picked up my Shih Tzu, he was shedding all over the place - only time I've had this experience... all the loose hair from his shave ended up getting all over me and my car sear.

The two groomers told me they also have Shih Tzus... which is why I don't understand the lack of grooming quality.  I asked to have his the fur on his paws the same length as his coat (#7, they said) but after his coat grew out a little the coat on his paws were much longer and he looked like he had boots with the furs!
His tail was matted after his visit here, his ears got frizzy which was ridiculous and he had random whiskers that were longer than the coat around his face - TERRIBLE!

To add to the horrible grooming, his fur was shaved only on one side of his nose ... so when his fur grew out, he looked like he tried to shave but didn't finish the job.  Not sure how you can shave only one side of a dog's face.

I obviously won't be coming back here considering I drove in all the way from Downtown LA.

The first couple of times I went to My Pet Garden (or MPG), I couldn't seem to get past the name.  My Pet Garden???  What does it mean?  Shouldn't it be "My Pet's Garden?"  Or something??

Once you get over the odd name, however, you'll find a really great little pet shop that has pretty much everything your dog needs.  We're there all the time buying Orijen 6 Fish, Greenies pill pockets, and of course bully sticks.  The employees are always super friendly and helpful.

We've never gotten our dog groomed at MPG, but only because the grooming area is visible to other customers and I don't really like the idea of my dog being on display while she's getting a haircut.  But, we have gotten her teeth cleaned there and they did a great job.

Teeth cleaning offered once a month. Cute small store with adopt puppies, best pet store 2009 & 2010 via pasadena weekly. Roosevelt place.

Very nice, fast and awesome service. Small place so they only provide the best products, they don't have alot but its good enough. They have some pretty awesome dog food.

I called to see if I could get a same day appointment and was happy when they were able to squeeze me in. I brought in my dog and let them know how short I wanted them to cut his hair. The girl was friendly and answered all my questions. Since they were squeezing us in, they did say it would take about 2 hours.
When I returned to pick up my dog he looked pleased. I felt they did a good job but the only thing I wish they had trimmed down his head a little bit more.
I liked the fact that they sent me a thank you card.  For how big and furry my dog is I thought it was decently priced.

I love this store. I find myself coming back every week because I forgot to buy something the week before. Christina at the front desk is very helpful and friendly. Since I foster for an animal rescue, she's given me great tips and suggestions on how to train them.

They also have great prices and wonderful products that are competitive. These people know their products and would not sell anything but the best!

My Pet Garden does not sell puppies. Rather, they rescue them, nurse them back to health and adopt them out. None of the cats or dogs in the store come from puppy mills.

Upon moving back to Pasadena, my little maltese-poodle got sprayed by a skunk.  The poor little thing was in a lot of pain not to mention our house was filled with skunk odor.  Immediately after the skunk incident, I washed the sprayed area with the formula vet recommended specifically for skunk spray.  I got most of the spray out but my little one still smelled badly.  The next day, I called My Pet Garden and told them about what happened.  They were bright and cheerful and comforting, I was happy that they had skunk odor removing experience before.  I took my dog in and had them cut his hair short and they offered a facial to help clear the odor out.   Two hours later, i welcomed my little dog back into our bed because he smelled great and looked cuter than ever!  It was a very good experience.

    Service:  excellent

So disappointed and a injured dog to boot! My first and last visit. Not only was my bassets ears still dirty with food, he had two open sores on either side of his face. He was there for 3 hours. Talk about feeling guilty for even leaving him there. Do NOT take your animal here. Grooming below par, and "something" happened to injure my pet. Also a consent form was presented to me AFTER the service????

I'm so happy to have finally found a great dog groomer in Pasadena!  The staff is enthusiastic and cheerful when you call and when you walk into the store (that really makes a difference).  They also spend a lot of time with the dogs and makes sure that everything is done correctly.

My babies, Lou and Angel, looked clean and refreshed after their grooming session.  We were told that Lou didn't like the dryer so they had to dry him using a different technique that took a bit longer ... he's just a big baby :)

A few days later, we received a Thank You card in the mail with a handwritten note and pictures of both doggies during their grooming session!  I was so WOWed by that gesture.  It was thoughtful and put a smile on my face.  Thanks My Pet Garden for being such great dog lovers.  I can't wait to take the babies back for their next groom after they roll around the dirt some more!

This place IS  all that it is cracked up to be!!!! They  had great customer service and very good knowledge of particular behavior of different breeds while they are groomed.  I  brought my two basset hound  mix dogs for a simple wash.   They had nail clippings, anal gland expression,  Furminating, and drying in a special machine.   The grooming session  went through without any problems and they called me as soon as my pets were done.  I was able to have breakfast at Plate 38  and then  do local errands.
I have to say one of the things that really impressed me aside from the great grooming,  friendly customer service,  ease and scheduling,  was the really sweet thank you note that we received.  This thank you note had hand made pictures of both our pets right after they'd been cleaned with gleaming dog eyes.

I adopted my little guy just 4 months ago, and I was idly looking online for a groomer when I found MPG. The reviews were terrific and I put that info in my back pocket for future use. Not long after that I noticed my dog "scooting." I was scared some awful, giant, critterwas to come crawling out of him, when I learned about the need for anal expression. I called My Pet Garden and they were able to see him that day!!! He had his first professional grooming, bath, nail trim, and yes anal gland expression.
He & I were both relieved. (lol, see what i did there)

Amazing service, employees are warm and welcoming, and of course the store itself is cute as bug! The groomer alerted me to the possibility that my little boy might have an ear infection, which turned out to be true. I appreciated her giving me a heads up about it. It is a little pricey for my budget, but if money were no object he would have a regular, standing appointment.

I highly recommend My Pet Garden to pet owners looking for an intimate environment to take their pet, where they will get personal service for their furry friend.

this place makes me happy. they always have everything i need and if they don't they can order it for me and it's here by next week. they have always returned phone calls regarding orders and inquiries. the manager with the tattoos is totally helpful & friendly, she lets me hold the puppies and the kitties when i come in to pick up my food. the animals get adopted out pretty quickly so you can't get too attached to them. :(

the prices are average for a mom & pop pet store. i still miss urban pet in silverlake but this store is great too, they have a wide variety of foods, treats and trinkets for your fur babies. i like the people who work here and appreciate their professionalism while still maintaining that friendly neighborhood vibe.

i've been curious about grooming here as the prices don't seem too high so when i take my schmoops to be groomed i will report back.

I love this place.  Not to knock down Petsmart because I do love going their for day camp and training and knicknacks, but after taking Padme there to get groomed three times, I was starting to loose faith in groomers all together.  I was wondering why Padme's haircuts weren't coming out as cute as all other puppies.  I've shopped at My Pet Garden in the past and loved the experience, but I could never fit Paddy into a grooming appointment last minute.  You really need to call in advance and make an appointment.  Thank goodness for MLK day, I called a couple of days in advance to see what time they had available on MLK.

Paddy came out of beautiful and fluffy!  And her cute little poof around her nose was still there :)  She looked adorable and not like a giant eyed monster like after the Petsmart groomer chops off her eyebrow, eye lashes, nose poof, under eye hair.  Her coat was so fluffy and soft.  I think she knew she was pretty, because as you can see in the picture, she's got this I know I'm hot smile on.

First time customers gets 25% off grooming.  And spend more than $25 10 times, you'll receive 10% off.

    Customer service is great.

They have Pawz waterproof boots :) These boots look like balloons.  They slip on easily and stay on too.  I've wasted so much money trying to find doggie boots there didn't rip apart or slip off and finally I've found them.

We love My Pet Garden.  We have a 19 year old dog that Leo grooms. Chewie has lots of medical issues so the grooming needs to be quick. Leo is gentle with Chewie and knows how to keep him calm.

We also bring our 2 younger dogs for grooming. The staff are all kind and really care about the well being of the dogs. The dogs are taken out of their cages for walks and not left in their cages for hours on end.  The shop is always very clean.

This is the best grooming experience that we have had in a long time.

When I returned to the Pasadena area after 30 years recently, I turned to Yelp to find a groomer for my adopted 13-year-old German Shepherd.  Despite some reviewers bagging on the grooming, specifically a particular groomer, there were enough good reviews for me to give MPG a try.  I used the first time grooming coupon and got up-sold on some grooming particulars, but my old guy hadn't been groomed in, oh, 12 years, so I thought it would be worth it.  It definitely was, and I've been back since and been pleased, not only with Chance's clean-cut look but with the fact that they were able to do anything with his hind end without drama, as Chance's bad spine prevents  easy grooming.

I also like the high-end dog and cat food selection where corn meal and fillers aren't on the ingredient list.  Plus, even after only a couple of visits, the staff knew Chance and me.  Bonus points for serving as doggie adoption brokers, too.

I have been to My Pet Garden before just looking around, when they first opened. Great customer service without being shadowed by an employee. I love that.
Today I took my Chi Mix, Barbarella in for a grooming. AMAZING job!!
    GREAT pricing as well.
The groomer Donna is awesome. She chatted quickly with me and answered my questions about my little ones nails since I am afraid of hurting her tend to grow longer than they should, which ironically hurts her.(I know, bad me).
I will be coming back often for Barbarella's nail appointments. Since I finally got correct information and someone that my doggie likes and trusted.

This is such a cute place!! The staff was very helpful, friendly, and honest. I took my dog in here to get groomed because there were so many great reviews. Plus there's a 25% off discount for new customers. They estimated that it would take 2 hrs and they called right on time. My dog came out with a little tie.... It was soooo cute. The total cost $37.50 after the discount which was still cheaper than a lot of other places.

I took my dog to Moochies last time because I thought it was cheaper but the place was dirty and they did a hack job with the cut. The cut was so bad that I wasn't sure if it was still my dog when he came out. Anyway... My Pet Garden did an amazing job and I am definitely coming back next time.

It sounds like people have had problems with the grooming service, but I have never needed grooming for my dog. Therefore, I am reviewing My Pet Garden strictly based upon their service as a store.

The people who work there seem to genuinely love animals. They take the time to listen to one's needs for one's pet and offer good suggestions. This is the nicest pet store I have encountered, and I so much prefer it to the big places. Their prices on the products are competitive. If I am in the area and have the choice of going here or to one of the chains, I always go here.

I would call this place a "hidden gem."
I have a parrot that needs his beak trimmed and wings clipped every few months.
There are places that do it (not expensive), but it's a horrible experience for the bird.
Joel (not sure if he is the owner or not), was soo kind to my bird that it wasn't a horrible experience at all.
Normally my bird is in a BAD mood after his grooming, but in this case he was all loves and cuddles.
I don't know that Joel had a different technique but he showed my bird a lot of love and smiles before taking a file to his face so I would guess that's the difference.
The customer service is unbeatable. The prices are VERY reasonable. There is no reason that anyone should complain about their price because they offer a low price guarantee - meaning they will match the lower price if you find it.
I think I found my new bird groomer. Thank you Joel

They advertise a 50% off  for 1st time client special. I brought my 14 lb dog there-  got a wash and a muzzle trim, not even a cut- and they charged $45. So that means their rate to groom a 14 lb - well cared for, I might add- dog is $90?  It feels like false advertising or they should be offering a dog spa for that price.

My next beef is this:  my dog has wonderfully charming long eye lashes. The groomer trimmed them 1/2 off.  I wasn't expecting it. I have had another groomer ask about them because they're so unique; this groomer didn't bother to check and trimmed them 1/2 off. They were in great shape and there was no need. It was a drastic look change and I would have appreciated if they'd checked.

If you're considering using them because of this advertised special:  I wouldn't. They did do a decent grooming (cut and shampoo)  but the  regular price range must be ridiculous.

I take my dog for grooming here and they've done a great job.  My little dog is a snapper and does not like strangers, and they are always super patient and gentle with him.  I know he gives them a hard time, and they are always really nice about it and manage to make him look nice no matter how difficult he is.

I decided to check out My Pet Garden after receiving a coupon from the staff at the local dog park. My bulldog puppy desperately needed her nails trimmed and anal glands expressed. Even though she was dirty, I didn't have the funds to get the full treatment.  As I got out of the car, I was immediately greeted by the groomer, Leo, who happened to be outside. I told him what I needed and he said it wasn't a problem. Other places, they only stick to their grooming packages.

He took her to the grooming area and I had fun browsing the pet products. As I was looking, I noticed there wasn't staff pressuring you to buy. Sometimes you just want to browse, and MPG let me do that.  I snuck a peak inside the grooming area and saw Leo holding my fat pup in his lap and he worked on her nails. This is her favorite position so I knew she was comfortable.  At the cash register, I spoke with Leo and the friendly cashier about my pup's nutritional needs and they were very helpful with, again, no pressure to buy.  While I was finishing up my transaction, Leo even took my pup outside for a potty break!

And you know how Petsmart gives out dog biscuits at the cash register? Well, Leo gave my Pasha dehydrated liver treats straight from the bag, which happens to be her favorite treat!

Last but not least, they even honored the coupon! I will definitely be back!

This place has managed to hold it's own against some of the larger stores in the area.  I go here for two main reasons: grooming and dog food.

I looooove the groomers here.  I also think they offer very competitive prices and really take care of the animals.  My dog hates getting his nails clipped, which is why I bring him here.  The groomers have always managed to get his nails down, and no sharp edges.

The dog food choices here are awesome, and they boast lowest prices in town (please note, some brands are significantly lower, while other brands are lower by a buck or two.  But hey, anywhere I can save some cash is good for me).

The other stuff here is a little pricier and the choices are limited.  But then again, it's a small boutique.

We take our kitty, Kit Kat, to My Pet Garden for a full groom and sometimes to get her claws trimmed.  We've only had good experiences with Donna and considering that Kit Kat was a stray (previous owners abandoned her to live outside for a year or two before we found and took her with us to the new apartment) she comes out really calm and happy -- happy to be clean!

Donna has been the only groomer Kit Kat has known.  The first time KK went in she was really considerate and didn't use the air blower on her in case it would freak her out.  They're also considerate in that they schedule Kit Kat's appointment when there are fewer dogs around.  I think for a while they weren't doing cat groomings but made the exception for Kit Kat.  I also appreciated how Donna helped me try a Puppia harness on her before we bought it.  Kit Kat now walks on leash around the apartment complex.

Natalie has also been super friendly making grooming appointments and recommending cat treats that she said her cat/s (?) loved.  Kit Kat liked them too!   I didn't see her the last time we went in so hopefully she is still there.

A nice, charming little store in the corner of a plaza on Colorado.  They have a wide selection of pet products and services such as Grooming & Teeth cleaning for dogs, etc.  Everything is neatly laid out easy to find.  With that said, my main problem with the store is that everything is WAY OVERPRICED.

My friend recently came in for the 50% off grooming Yelp Special.  He had a Siberian Husky and he paid 50$ for the grooming after the 50% off.  They basically charged him the maximum rate of 100$ for a medium sized dog.  All he got was the typical wash, clean ears, and nail trim.  100$ for that is just too much.  He also noted that his dog took 6hours to groom.  That probably meant he was stuck in a cage for 5hrs until they finished off the small dogs first.

It's pretty obvious that My Pet Garden is targeted mainly for small dogs.  You won't find many items here for regular sized dogs.  Personally, this place is nice but I can't afford getting blatantly ripped off.

I bring my dog Cody (20 lb German Spitz) here for baths and cleanings, and I love it.  Yes, I would have to say that compared to some other places I've brought him, the price is a little higher ($35 plus tip), but I think it's worth it to get familiar and personable service.  Since my dog has long hair and an undercoat, it's kind of a pain to bathe him well myself, so I like to have the professionals do it.  I bring him every few months.

The last time I brought him, they had a little grooming report card that showed how he did while he was there, and then a few days later, they mailed me a handwritten card with his picture (see my posted pics).  The people that work there are always really nice, and when I pick up my dog, they always make the extra effort to let me know how things went.  I bought a big bag of dog food there before, and if it was more expensive, it was by only a few dollars compared to Centinela Feed as I recall.

They also feature adoptions from other rescues and shelters.  Most times I went they had a couple small dogs in a caged area.  I like that they are partnering with other places to help adopt out the dogs as opposed to getting them from puppy mills or breeding themselves.  I think this store is a great combination of good marketing, customer service and responsible conduct.  I think it's worth it to pay a little more to support a business like that.

I have been coming to this store regularly since it opened and have always found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and helpful and most importantly very knowledgeable. The owner obviously is focused on only carrying quality food, toys and treats. The grooming team is top notch.
I have to strongly disagree with the previous reviewer about Leo. He does a marvelous job grooming my two cocker spaniels and is always gentle with them. I bring in two rather bedraggled looking dogs and leave with two show dogs. He is a experienced groomer and knows how to cut and trim by breed. He has never  been disrespectful and I welcome his suggestions on how to maintain my dogs' coats and health.
Overall, this is a well managed pet store that has an obvious goal - provide excellent service and quality products.

My Pet Garden is my neighborhood pet store, so I really try to support it whenever my mini schnauzer needs a new toy or treat.

They aren't a huge store, and don't have a vast selection, but what they do have are (what appear to be) carefully selected products that you can't necessarily find at petsmart or petco. And the staff is really friendly and helpful, and best of all, they truly love animals and it shows.

I just got my dog groomed there, and I am really happy with her new 'do. She's a little afraid of strangers, but I knew that she was in good hands and was happy to hear that she did ok with the grooming.

support small business! go to pet garden!

Great groomer, good products, cool people.  i'm willing to drop my dog off for grooming as long as my dog isn't resisting.  With all the love and affection he gets from the staff here, he's happy to get a bath from my pet garden. not to mention, the store is very well kept.  joel and crew, you guys are doing a wonderful job!

Ok, it's no petco or petsmart or any other big corp pet store.  Don't expect a warehouse sized store with everything you could need.

That being said, this place is absolutely wonderful.  They are some of the most helpful pet people I have ever met.  They are extremely friendly and are truly interested in both you and your pet.  My Lab loves coming with me to the store for treats and to pick up her new bag of orijen, which other stores rarely carry.  They are incredibly knowledgeable about all the products they carry and here's the ringer... they've actually tried the products themselves!  You can't sell what you don't know!  The grooming service is outstanding as they really take their time.  My lab has a super dense coat and doesn't like the loud ultra fast dryers, so they actually took hours to dry her on a the lower settings.  Natalie, one of the workers there, has been incredibly helpful from the first moment i set foot in that store and continues to greet and remember both me and my dog each time.

Prices are a tiny bit steeper than the corp pet stores, but they often have sales and price match opportunities.  Also they have an excellent return policy including returns on food and treats even if opened, so long as your pet hasn't eaten much of it or clearly dislikes it.  If you want personal service, trustworthy opinions, and hands down warm friendly neighborhood pet store experience, do yourself a favor go for a visit.

I have taken my little princess Daisy to get groomed here a total of 4 times. Before I begin with my rant on how unhappy and unsatisfied I am with their overall services, I will begin by saying that what I really do appreciate about this store are their lower prices on their organic treats as well as the fact that they use earth friendly shampoos on their customers.

Daisy got an ear infection after her 3rd visit there but I did not put 2 and 2 together at that time until I took her in 2 weeks ago-- and she got an ear infection AGAIN. I got a random call from the owner, Joel, asking whether I'd been satisfied with the grooming services but I was not able to get to the phone when he called and just got a vm from him. I called back the following day so that I could tell him that I was no very happy because I think that Daisy most likely got an ear infection from getting groomed there but I was told by a female attendant that Joel was not available. I mistakenly did not write down the cell phone number that he left me with on the VM because I was at work and thought I could really just get in touch with him by calling the store back. Well, she told me that she could not give me his cell phone number which is understandable-- she proceeded to tell me that she would let him know that I called back. I didn't indicate why I was calling back but I just told her that I needed to speak to him simply because he'd left me a message.

I was talking to a gf who has also been a My Pet Garden customer tonight about how Daisy gets so frightened when I take care in, as if she was being taken into the vet to get shots-- which is so not the case. So, I wonder why she gets so nervous when I take her in. Needless to say, there is a slim chance that I will ever take her back in-- which reminds me, they send out coupons to get grooming discounts but the expiration date isn't very clear-- it's one of those coupons that make you go to the store and when you get there, they tell you that it cannot be used. Well, after you've made time and plans around it to go get your dog groomed and they tell you that you can't get that discount anymore, do you really want to say, 'forget it' and go home without getting your dog groomed? Gas is $4/gallon, you might as well pay the full price and get it over with. But maybe I should have paid that gas, that way, I wouldn't have had to spend over $200 on vets and medications for an ear infection. The last thing that I ever want to do is put antibiotic drops into my dog's ears but that's what I had to do twice in a row now after her visits there-- much to my dog's demise!

I will come back and let you all know if anyone from MPG contacts me after reading this review from a very unhappy customer.

This place is really great.  The owner is an awesome guy, the employees are fun and intelligent, and they are the only place I have found who happily groom guinea pigs!
