I went to Mebane to shop at the new outlet mall so took the opportunity to stop by MOB while I was in the neighborhood. It's located in a warehouse type building and doesn't have a large sign, so you might drive right past it like I did at first. When I first walked in I didn't think they had much. There is a small room in front with a few racks and a few display tables. HOWEVER, she then directed me to the warehouse in back and WOW! I must say that it was a bit overwhelming, but she has done a pretty good job organizing things so that you won't be completely lost in there.
She carries various designers so you'll find prices to be all over the board, but has some great and really interesting things. This is where I will be headed the next time I need a special occasion dress for sure. There are a ton of them to choose from. There are jeans, tops, skirts, jackets, shoes, pants, etc. You name it! I would recommend that you go here BEFORE going and getting worn out at the outlet mall. I was pretty tired by the time I got there so didn't take the time I would've liked to really look around. She also said that they do the majority of their sales online now, so you can also check out the website and have things mailed to you if you don't want to make the trek to Mebane. -

You guys remember the Stock Exchange when it used to be in The Courtyard on Franklin? Well that store shut down and relocated, but the original owner, Meg Thomas, now operates My Overstock Boutique, with offices and a warehouse in Mebane. She still stocks the same popular designers -- Lilly Pulitzer, Trina Turk, Nanette Lepore, Cynthia Rowley, Walter -- but I've also seen some AMAZING finds (Catherine Malandrino merchandise for one), plus lots of Susanna Monaco dresses at only a fraction of retail.
The downside is that you can't just hop on by the warehouse any old day. It's only open to the public certain days each month. Get on the email newsletter to find out when Meg is holding online sample sales, to tide you over. Or you can call her up for your own personal appointment -- she'll open the warehouse on special occasions so you can shop privately, or enlist her help in finding the perfect outfit for an upcoming event. She's very sweet, and very accommodating!
In addition to clothes, they've got jewelry and shoes. Most of the merchandise is new with tags (overstock and out-of-season stuff from other boutiques); some is remaining consignment from The Stock Exchange and others. There's loads of stuff to look through and usually a wait to try on, so carve out at least two hours for shopping.
