While on business in DFW, I began to get that hankering for some classic Vietnamese food. Eating Pho has become more of a religious routine for me. So when I stray away far from home, where the Pholy spirit emanates literally from every corner, I begin to worry. But thanks to all you yelpers I found this amazing little gem that serves up the tastiest Pho i've ever had.

It was an unusual rainy evening in DFW, so i decided to order the Beef Pho Combo (#45-$5.25) which came with the standard lineup of braised brisket, tendon, tripe, and eye of round steak. My bowl of piping hot soup came in less than five minutes after receiving my small kettle of hot jasmine tea.

Everything appeared to be fresh, and best of all everything tasted fresh. The chopped cilantro seemed like it was picked fresh from the garden considering the small droplets of water on each leaf. There was no funky smell on the slices of raw top round that I requested on the side. There was an even balance of flavors in the broth, with no signs of radioactivity from the MSG. So at this point I am happy. However, there were a few slices of brisket that were tough and chewy, and seemed like it had not been braised long enough.

I observed through the window that Haltom City is slightly off the beaten path. It's far from downtown, the stockyards, TCU, and other sanitized tourist locations. As a result, My Lan was somewhat difficult to find since the tiny eatery is tucked in the far end of a long shopping center that aligns diagonally with Belknap St. So if you're driving northbound on Belknap, keep an eye out for a long row of golden buildings. At the very opposite end of those guildings you will find this hidden gem that serves the most delicious Pho west of the Mississippi.

This place is authentic pho sho (i know it's not pronounced fo). I love the charcoal broiled pork with rice noodles. Also had a few other dishes that were all really good. Some Vietnamese friends convinced me to try the boba tea drink. Good but a little odd having tapioca pears shoot into your mouth.

Best Vietnamese restaurant in DFW!  I absolutely LOVE this place!  I used to work 10 minutes away from My Lan and my co-worker friends and I used to go eat here at least once a week.  There are so many good dishes on the menu, we never got tired of the place.  I've never had anything bad on their menu to be honest.  I am Vietnamese and I can tell you the flavors are very authentic at My Lan.  You have to try the spring rolls here...they are the best I've had anywhere.   Remembering the food makes me wish I still lived in Ft. Worth, but alas I am a 50-minute drive away :(

I don't give 5 stars out without reason. I had the "Pho Tai" rare steak #46. Buddy had the "Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio" pork vermicelli with egg roll #?. Our standard for trying out a new place. Both were awesome! As good as I lov Pho in Irving, maybe better. THEY NOW ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS

I am a picky eater, so Vietnamese was slightly intimidating... I imagined I would have pick all the yucky unidentifiable vegetables out of my food with chopsticks etc, however that was not the case! Now I am a regular customer! Great food, great price. Go now!

I'm one of those people who don't like veggies, this place was really easy to mix in as much or as little veggies as you like. Most dishes Ive had thus far, arrive with veggies separated and free for you to mix in or trash as you like. The cuts of meat have been lean, tender and grilled perfectly. Only one gotcha is if you order one of the noodle dishes (vermicelli?), they hide been sprouts and other veggies under the noodles so if you don't like that, just say no veggies and they will hook you right up.

They used to not accept credit cards, but now take Visa MC (No am-ex). The location isn't the best, but don't let that stop you from trying this place out.

This restaurant is definitely yummy. The food is always brought out quickly. What I hate most is the wierd day that they choose to close in the middle of the week...  I think it's either Tuesday or Wednesday. This always throws me off because I always catch them on their closed day.

You have to have cash to eat here but believe me, its worth it.  I always get the vermicelli with pork, egg rolls, and shrimp bean curd.  It comes in a huge bowl with shredded lettuce and carrots underneath the vermicelli and meat and comes with a light sauce to pour on top.  It is DELICIOUS!  The pho is excellent too.

We went to My Lan after reading all the previous reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. Thanks to all previous contributors!

Food was good and there was a decent variety of Vietnamese dishes on the menu. "Tiny Rice Stick" is our favorite and here's what we ordered:

#90 - Bean Curd Skin with Shrimp and Grilled Pork on Tiny Rice Stick
#95 - Grilled Pork and Egg Rolls on Tiny Rice Stick

We will definitely return when we are craving for Vietnamese food. It is a much shorter drive to My Lan from our house than to Arlington.

Yum!  This place has the best Vietnamese food I've had in a long time (like since moving here!).  Hubby and I went for lunch based on the positive reviews here on Yelp as well as Yahoo.  Everyone has been right about the food.  Wonderful stuff!  We started with the spring rolls.  They were really good - loaded with noodles, veggies, and nice, fat shrimp.  I had one of their noodle dishes for the main course.  It wasn't bun (the vermicelli noodles), but one that I think they referred to as short noodles, or something like that.  Anyway, it was super yummy with grilled pork and some sort of shrimp tofu-like substance (sorry, I am not well-versed in Vietnamese cuisine).  It came with a broth to pour over the dish and lettuce for wrapping along with bean sprouts, mint, cucumber, and shredded carrot as condiments.  Very good flavor in this dish.  Hubby had a seafood noodle soup with some funky thick, round noodles (he joked that they were albino worms).  I tasted the broth and one of the 'worms' and it was incredible.  This is a place we will definitely be going back to.  I want to try the Pho next time.

The service was a little less than efficient, although very friendly.  We ended up here right at the noon crunch and the place was packed so that probably explains it.  The place was pretty well cleared out by 1 so I think we'll plan to have lunch a bit later next time.

A couple of things to note:
1. This is a cash-only place.  Not really an issue since the food is so reasonably priced.  Just be prepared.
2. To pay at the end of the meal, you go up to the counter and tell the cashier your table number (it's posted at your table where you can see it).  I saw people paying at the counter, but thought they got a ticket first.  So we sat there like doofusses until it became apparent there would be no ticket.  Anyway, now we know.

Also, one person who reviewed this restaurant mentioned homeless people who hang around outside.  When we got there noonish, there was one outside, however when we left a little after 1, he was gone.  I guess he just plays the rush hour.

I've eaten my fair share of Vietnamese restaurants in Dallas/Ft.Worth, and My Lan gets my pick as the tastiest.

I have yet to be disappointed by anything here yet, I wish it wasn't so far to drive to (45 mins). There are many places that are good at some particular dishes, but fail at others. I am still searching for that flaw at My Lan. Ignore the kinda run down shopping center it's located in, or the small size of the place, sometimes the best food are tucked in the corner places and this proves it.

My favorite dish here are the spring rolls, which I usually don't order outside of home. Along side their Korean style beef short ribs with yellow egg fried rice. It gets a 10 out of 10 in my book in satisfaction every time.

Consistent, Cheap and Delicious. Come here if you can and bring cash, they don't accept credit cards or checks (most asian run stores don't, haha).

*Edit* They now accept Credit Cards, Yay!

About as good as any Vietnamese food I've had, including that in all the "China-towns" of major metros. The spring rolls are a must have, always perfectly fresh and soft. I'm more adventurous here than at my normal Pho houses and usually get some stir-fried noodle option or one of the hot pots. The staff is always good to help you decide on something. Worth the drive over to Haltom City.

I was missing Mai's in Houston really badly. My Lan, thank you. You know when you are the only non Vietnamese person in the place that its good. It is dirt cheap and serve generous portions. The best Pho I have had and i have eaten it in every Vietnamese restaurant that i have been to. Kicks Mai's into the dust, just wish it was open 24 hours. Wish ANYTHING was open 24 hours in Fort Worth.

best vietnamese restaurant in fort worth. the rice dishes and vermicelli bowls are delicious. The service is great and you can't go wrong with anything you order. It does get crowded and it is in a not so great part of town but you won't regret eating here. There's also a nice little bubble tea shop a few stores down but beware of the two homeless men that like to hang out in front of this restaurant. prices are pretty cheap unless you decide to tip the homeless men.
