This is the restaurant my parents want to go to more than any other when we head out for family dinner. Uniquely named after the retarded Joe Pesci movie (but hey, it's got RALPH MACCHIO) which my parents also love, this place is one of the best lower key Italian joints outside the Atlanta perimeter. It's a bit less dressy than other great Italian places I've been, which is nice-- you feel very comfortable in their deep booths.
The service here is always friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you have a good time. It feels kind of like eating at a down home New Yorker's little pet project.
They offer pretty much all the things you would expect from a classical Italian dinner. I've had the lasagna and the veal and both were way above average. They also come with complimentary garlic rolls and salad, so you're guaranteed to walk away very full and happy.
Wow... So we randomly decided to eat here tonight and were astonished by the quality of their food. The pasta salad was delicious. The spinach dip was incredible - fresh and never frozen. Oh, and the bread...the bread was amazing!! Where DID they get the olive oil? Incredible. I had an Italian sub - not my typical dinner choice, but I wasn't really all that hungry. Much to my surprise, it was delicious and FRESH. My husband had a calzone and loved it. It's not a fancy place, so if that's what you're looking for, then this isn't your ideal destination. However, if you're looking for good food, you'll have a great dinner at My Cousin Vinny's.
My friend and I randomly stopped in here, drawn in by the gourmet pizza proclamation. It's small and simple inside, seems like a family joint. It has a brick oven to bake the pizza, which gave the crust the perfect crunch and flavor. We ordered pizza, half chicken and portabella (and cheese and sweet marinated onions, yummm), with the other half pesto, pepperoni, feta and tomatoes. It was awesome! We loved it.
