I actually would give our apartment 4 stars.  

While it is a fantastic deal especially in North Beach, it *is* kinda old and doesn't have the best feng shui... it gets stuffy fast and our 5-light chandelier in the living room can't decide if it only wants 2 or 3 of the lights to work.  Perhaps when our upstairs neighbor stomps harder, he'll turn a 4th light on!

Our landlord is great, out neighbors aren't exactly "neighborly" but at least they're not jerks, and aside from Lead-Foot upstairs, they don't make any noise (but we sure do!)

I love the high ceilings, could do without wall-to-wall carpeting, and love our bay windows.

Overall, a good find in a great neighborhood... well done!

It is pretty hard to beat our apartment.  I managed to score a spacious one bedroom in North Beach without having to offer up $10,000 and our first born child.  (lucky for us because we're not having any kids)  The building is quiet and stays cool in the hot weather and warm in the cold weather.  We're close enough to walk to Washington Square Park and immerse ourselves in the drunken lunacy of Saturday nights in NB, or scurry home, close the windows and shut it all out.  

I highly rate my apartment!
(and no you can't have it)
