865 Newport Center DrI love muttropolis. They do all the hard work for me by finding all the best dog dogs, clothes, beds, bowls, treats, and etc. They even have a rewards program for frequent shoppers and give a food discount! They carry only the best products and filter out the crap. All the treats are healthy and tasty. The beds are so fabulous! It's hard for me to restrain myself from sitting on them. Sigh. They carry the cutest things - don't go into the store if you're just window shopping because that's just being cruel to yourself. They even have dog meet ups and events! It's expensive so don't expectPetco prices, after all, you're at Fashion Island. Some of the treats I've been able to find online for cheaper so splurge on the specialty items that are harder to find.

Growing up as a kid in humble surroundings, I would have never imagined myself shopping at a high-end pet boutique in an outdoor mall called Fashion Island by the beach in The OC. Alas, it has happened, and admittedly on more than one occasion. It's the perfect compliment to a super dog friendly mall. This store has a colorful, happy vibe as soon as you step foot through the door. The staff is friendly and full of smiles, something in which many stores in the area sorely lack. We bought Milo a fuzzy, squeaky toy and judging by the look in his face when I showed it to him, he absolutely just HAD to have it. Sure, it was $9. But the look on Milo's face when I handed the toy to him was priceless.

Finally!!! A store that doesn't forget and ignore the big dog!!! YAY! Mind you, I don't even have a really big dog. He's 80 lbs of the most loveable yellow lab in the world...we're thinking of getting a bullmastiff so we know what big can be!
I have made a point of visiting dog stores especially when we travel and I have never, ever found a store that has such an amazing selection of toys, treats, and collars. I am in love with this store...so much so, that my husband was kind enough to take me twice in one weekend!
These are the highlights:
(1) fresh (you'd be surprised how often this is not so) water in the bowl at the entrance
(2) great assortment of collars and leads - all arranged on a wall according to color
(3) selection of treat samples on a platter SELF SERVE to hand to your dog - I love this b/c you don't have to beg or ask for it
(4) an entire table full of different types of rawhide and natural treats (i.e, bully sticks, tendons, etc), in clear large jars
(5) large, and I mean, LARGE stuffed toys all over the store - some of the toys were larger than my Simba. So awesome! We ended up getting a great orangutan that grunts and squeaks. I have gone to numerous stores and on-line and had never seen them before! It cost$20 which wasn't cheap but totally worth it. Also, most of their toys come in small, medium, large and jumbo so all dogs can enjoy!
(6) friendly staff
(7) free Muttropolis card - get discounts off treats, food, etc.
I begged them to open a store in LA. They said that there's probably too much competition but I swear, if Muttropolis were in LA it would rule the city for dog treats and toys!!!

I have to admit, this is a cool store even if you don't have pets. I like browsing in here because I have friends who have pets and their pets are like their babies. So whenever it's time to send a X'mas care package, I try to include something for their pets as well.
First of all, what a cool name for a store featuring dog accessories. They have a whole bunch of collars and straps? What do you call those things? Leashes? Such a variety to choose from. I would say that if you're looking for some bling bling for your beloved pet, look no further, this is probably the hippest place to shop for your canine pal.
Not cheap, but I guess if you don't have kids, then you'd probably have enough money to splurge on your pet. Very cool!!

Cute!!! Nice Staff! I couldn't walk away without getting a few accessories for my Sadie Bear. My dog now has a new Ed Hardy collar!
The staff thought we lived in town & invited us to pooch parties for our Cavalier King Charles. I guess they have pretty good turnouts for this breed at the monthly meet-ups.
Fabulous selection of dog toys, friendly employees, though yes, wildly overpriced. Still, I love shopping here. If nothing else, the people-watching is always entertaining. Last time we were here Tavis and I saw a woman buying FOUR $75 diamond-studded dog collars for her two poodles (both of which were wearing matching dresses). I guess each dog had to have two because, you know, wearing the same collar two days in a row would be tacky.

Any dog owner/lover would find a hard time rating a store that makes their pooch so happy anything less than a four! I've bought several toys for my dog here but really can't afford anything else (e.g. leashes, collars, etc. unless they are on clearance). Most of the time it's just nice to browse the store. The staff are friendly and always give my dog a treat while we look around the store.
This place is the ultimate pet boutique. There's an awesome selection of unique collars for dogs. They are pricey though. I came here to pick up a few presents for my pooch and my bf's mom's pooch. I love all the different pet beds they carry, especially the mid-century modern designed beds.
OMG YAY!
This place is like my #1 stop when I come to Fashion Island. "Why?," you ask. Well, I'll tell you why.
TONS OF DOGS IN CUTE LITTLE OUTFITS WAITING FOR GLAMOR SHOTS?!?!?!?
Yes PLEASE!
This place also has tons of cool stuff for pup-loving peeps. A bit pricey, but hey I don't have a dog so whatever. Oh speaking of, minus a star for saying they have stuff for cats, but not really having anything at all.
Although I just might try to get my kitties involved in a glamor shot soon....

This is my favorite place at Fashion Island. Every few Saturdays, my pom, my boyfriend and I trek over here to see what awesome stuff is in stock. I like their products because it's much more unique compared to Petsmart, Petco or even Russo's. We have gotten her dog clothes from here, as well as her unique and fun step-in harness. Last time I went, they had the cutest Hawaiian hula dog dress there.
We also love the atmosphere here too. The employees are incredibly friendly, and the people who shop there are also very sociable. We've had the luck of showing up on meet-up days, and while it was a different breed, it was still a great time to meet other dogs and talk with other owners. Now, we've gotten into the habit of visiting the store's website to check the event schedule.

Muttropolis Fashion Island is awesome! So many fun things to do with your dog from book signings to breed meetups (like the pug meet-up). Winston and I love going in there. Plus, as a senior dog Winston needs a stroller and they have stroller walks with your dog. There are lots of great bling options for boys too.

i love this store!!! yes it is expensive, but when they have sales...the doggy clothes are a great deal!!! the last time i went here they were having an after halloween sale so all the dog costumes were really cheap!
we got a spiderman hoodie & these hot dog costumes..the ketchup hot dog for my malti-poo johnny drama & the mustard hot dog for my mini french poodle coco. (ill have to post some pictures).
the people that work here are really nice & helpful too (unlike alot of the other snobby OC be-otches that you run into at most stores at fashion island). They have a bunch of cute dog toys, collars, leashes, accessories...pretty much anything you can think of getting for your doggy!
I agree with the other review that the prices are about the only thing keeping this place from getting 5 stars. But we know that going in and we often just go to browse and see what they have. Lots of cute stuff and it changes really often which is cool. Most of the employees are very nice and love to feed your dog treats if you let them. Our dog has lots of good friends there. Also, if you sign up for their mailing list/frequent shopper card thingie, you get some nice coupons in the mail. Also, they have special events with lots of free goodies. Overall, a really fun store.
Located near The Daily Grill in Fashion Island, this is an awesome place to shop for your pampered pet. They always have great customer service, and the cutest, most helpful things for you and your furry friends.
I would've given 5 stars, but they are a bit on the pricey side, but well worth at least window shopping. Needless to say, I've spoiled my Macy dog rotten despite the cha-ching it cost me.
